Anyone else see this? I took my kids the other night to see it. Very quirky (Wes Anderson) stop-motion animation feature based on a Roald Dahl novel. Beautifully animated (the close-ups of the characters show a lot of emotion). Not punch-line funny, but funny. The relationship between Mr. Fox and his son Ash is interesting. There's an interesting dynamic as the talking animals have very human concerns (like their credit ratings) but eat and fight like real wild animals. Worth seeing.

I like this! I don't think I've seen it posted, but I haven't been on for a week or two. It's better than the Norway Spiral Lights!

Did I mention that my short story "Performance" is up on Horror World for free this month (and this month only)? I should have. It's a weird one. I wrote it for Dick Laymon way back when. It was supposed to be in AFTERSHOCK & OTHERS but was cut to keep the book a certain length. http://www.horrorworld.org/fiction.htm

So I've decided that I'm going to reread the jack books until the new one comes out. I'm looking for company. Who's in?

I'll be the first to admit that I struggle finding humor in most popular comedies but was truly looking forward to The Hangover. While it is funny in parts, I can't wholeheartedly say it is as good as most people seem to think it is. It is smarter than a lot of comedies and the movie's structure worked well, but I couldn't work up any sympathy for the four leads-just another bunch of idiots getting smashed in Vegas. I was not expecting great but was somewhat disappointed by what I got.

Hi, FPW I had some ideas and I thought they were good. Tell me what you think. I know that you said that Jake Nacht has too many similarities to RJ to let them Co-Exist, but maybe now that Jack's dad has died, Jake would be a great guardian angel for Jack. If not he could at least be one of the fella's in the tin box Jack's father always kept in his closet. Jake could have trained and fought alongside Jack's old man. (A flashback of Jack's dad saving a young Jake's life in the war would be cool.) Jack's dad's death would be as good a reason for Jack & Jake to meet. More importantly, These two characters meeting would tie in "Night Kill" into the Adversary Cycle.

On a completely different topic. I would love for Abe to sell Jack a 5-Shot Smith & wesson 500. 50 calliber magnum revolver. (It is a grade A- Monster Killer!!!! a real wrist breaker)

With that I thank you for your time, and the world of Repairman Jack. I continue to be a fan.

Hey all,

I was surfing the net the other night and happened across a fanedit site. Someone took the movie "The Keep" and edited down to a 18 minute "mini-movie". It's actually pretty good.

Check it out: http://fanedit.org/4562/

Scroll down to the segment titled "Das Zombi" and click on the video stream.

Enjoy!

Today I saw PUBLIC ENEMIES in a theatre.

I don't like Michael Mann's THE KEEP, but I liked his HEAT and COLLATERAL, and THE LAST OF THE MOHICANS. If you liked those three movies, I highly recommend PUBLIC ENEMIES. I would say this is Mann's best film since THE LAST OF THE MOHICANS.

Johnny Depp plays John Dillinger. Depp's acting is perfect. Especially, his eyes. Sometimes his eyes turned to criminal's eyes. Chilly!
