What an ingeniusly simple concept done well. Gabriel Byrne plays a therapist and each half hour episode has him working with a specific client and then he visits his own therapist(not really accurate but applicable)played by the incredible Diane Wiest. He has four clients: a woman who claims to love him, a pilot responsible for bombing a school, a young female Olympic hopeful in gymnastics and a couple whose marriage is in disarray. Each episode deals almost exclusively with him at work but they are starting to show glimpses of his wife and child. As you can imagine, the show is almost strictly dialogue and the subject matter is as heavy as anything I've seen, but it is brilliantly written and I think offers a most fascinating peek into the world of psychotherapy(it may be called something else but I don't know the distictions between the different fields of psychoanalysis). I've only watched the first 10 episodes(out of 43)but I'm pretty well hooked at this point.

I am a HUGE comic book geek and I recently heard that The Keep had been Comicized. This is what I found.

http://www.amazon.com/Keep-F-Paul-Wilson...095&sr=1-1

That's right! One new available for $1946.64. I am amazed at the price. Not so much at how high it is, but what an odd price! Where did they come up with that price? Does it mean something? Am I obsessing over nothing?

Are there any current plans to turn RJ into a Comic Series?

Holy Crap!

Background: I've been following the electronic reader market for years and have picked up several of your books in eReader format. For the most part, I've stayed away from the Kindle because, while it is popular, the format is unique and proprietary (you NEED to buy a Kindle to read Kindle format books). However, with a Kindle reader available on the iPhone, I've winced and jumped in, picking up a handful of Kindle format books. Now, with tools like calibre, if I decide to get a different electronic book reader (I'm leaning towards the Nook) I can re-format my Kindle purchases to other formats. Woot!

(That's right, another thread regarding ebooks)

Alright. Now, to my "holy crap" moment. When I saw this post "The Last Rakosh", I went out and picked it up to support our man FPW. For giggles I checked to see which other FPW books were there in Kindle format. In eReader format, the FPW selections had been meager and I supposed this to be the case with other electronic formats. Much to my surprise (and excitement) there is suddenly a rather generous selection of FPW offerings, including many Repairman Jack books.

When did this happen? Has the FPW Kindle collection been quietly expanding? Was it all-of-a-sudden? Either way, I'm stoked!

Woot, woot, woot!

I may have missed this, but is there a planned trade paperback of The Tomb to match the others from the AC that are being (or already) released? My understanding is that all the other books have been mentioned but that one, and I'm kind of obsessive about having my editions match. Smile

I spotted this on AICN. Sounds like an interesting story: http://www.aintitcool.com/talkback_displ...nt_3063556

Read the comments where they talk about the Keep.

Hi FPW, I think that Hugh Jackman would be a perfect fit for your Repairman Jack character. He has brown hair, brown eyes, and can grow a beard if he has to. He also is about the right age for RJ. (He has a daughter that is so cute.) He would be able to relate to your Vicky character well. He also has a sence of humor. If you have seen his interviews on T.V. it comes out. ( This is also a characteristic of RJ. ) After Playing Wolverine the angriest character of all time in "X-men". Im pretty sure he could devel into the Dark Side of RJ.

Best of all. His last name is JACKMAN - JACK MAN Get it.....

I think I have also stumbles upon someone who could play Gia. Julie Benz from "DEXTER". She plays such a sweet, but damaged character on that show. (If that doesn't have Gia written all over it!!!)

I don't know who could play Vicky. It could take a while for production of a movie so any child actor now, might not fit later. Maybe Isabelle Fuhrman from the movie "Orphan".

As alway's, I Thank You for the world of Repairman Jack.

Till next time. ZOMBIE JOE

We watched this last night and it is definitely worth the rent. It is perhaps the most untraditional romantic dramedy ever. Zooey Deschanel is so good in these types offbeat roles I find myself falling for her characters almost instantly and she's outstanding here, but Joseph Gordon-Levitt is every bit her equal and then some. He is becoming an actor to seek out. This is Marc Webb's debut film and I hope he's not a one hit wonder.

The 1st YA novel, Jack: Secret Histories, has just been released in paperback. It involves Repairman Jack as a 14-year old in 1983 and his dawning ability to "fix" situations. I had a ball writing it and it made the VOYA list of Top 20 Books for the Middle Grades. You'll probably enjoy Ground Zero a little more if you've read this. (And if you haven't seen the live-action trailer yet, check it out.)
