Does anyone know the difference between the publisher's copy of MM and signed limited red leather version (75 copies)? Is the leather a different colour?

Whilst on the subject - is there a difference between the S/L of Author's Choice Monthly and the PC version? The S/L is grey - is the PC red?

sorry for the boring questions!

yours acronymistically

Stars: Corbin Bersen, Martin Sheen, & Billy Bob Thornton. Directed by George Hickenlooper (Sling Blade).

Set during the civil war, a Union captain is forced to investigate a series of grisly murders believed to be committed by renegade Confed. soldiers. The Union Capt. enlists the help of a Confed. POW who is his old West Point mentor now war enemy played by Bernsen, and a runaway slave who may have some connection to the events. They soon find out that Confed. soldiers are also being murdered as well as Union soldiers and that they are facing a force worse than renegades.

It's a supernatural thriller. Unfortunately the thriller part wasn't there. It had potential but no edge at all. If anything it was just plain boring. And Adrian Pasdar in the lead role of the Union Capt. was annoying. He decided that a bad vocal impression of Clint Eastwood was the way to go. Uh, wrong!! And the direction was pretty crappy to boot. The description and pics on the dvd box looks good, but don't let it fool you. Don't waste your money on this one.

The one where the woman is going from room to room in her house, smiling because all is right in the world, then goes to her studio/space and it's there we learn the music was on her iPod.

And another thing, on that X-M radio commecial where Snoopy dog dog is looking for his necklace thing, the guy that has it, is that Bowie or William H. Macy?

This is a question for the author. In reading Infernal, a few buildings were mentioned that Jack would like to show his father on a tour. What all buildings would end up on a complete list of Jack's tour (and a little something about why) would be fascinating.

Anyone seen this Japanese movie (2003, I think)? I saw the cover yesterday in the movie store, but had already picked up The Island and War of the Worlds for my SF festival. Looks sort of like a horror version of Zaitochi.

Here's my choice to start
FEAR NO EVIL Universal/MCA 1969 TV Film

Universal/MCA produced this exceptional television film for NBC TV in 1969, originally a pilot called "The Bedevilled". An intelligent story (based on a tale by Guy Endore), a cross between a Dennis Wheatley novel and a cerebral KOLCHACK episode, was a critically acclaimed hit.
The film has virtually vanished from the airways today excepy for grainey washed out bootleg video tapes. Too bad, as I saw a pristine 16mm copy from a private collector several years ago (with BROTHERHOOD OF THE BELL).
The film still holds up today. Directed by Paul (MEPHISTO WALTZ) Wendkos.

Bradford Dillman also appeared in "THE MEPHISTO WALTZ", also directed by Paul Wendkos

Wilfrid Hyde-White appeared in another supernatural pilot, released in theatres as "DARK INTRUDER". Also in "CHAMBER OF HORRORS", a pilot originally called "HOUSE OF WAX"

This was Carroll O'Conner's first tv film.

Guy Endore wrote "WEREWOLF OF PARIS"-the basis for Hammer Film's "CURSE OF THE WEREWOLF" starring Oliver Reed.

John Spencer dies at 58.

I've always been a fan of John Spencer, and Leo McGarry was my favorite character on The West Wing. This makes me so sad. Sad

Kozure Ôkami: Kowokashi udekashi tsukamatsuru (1972)

I remember seeing this on Black Belt Theater in the ‘70s. It’s the first in a fascinating, unique series. (If a ronin assassin roaming the Japanese countryside pushing his toddler son in a baby carriage isn’t sui generis, then I don’t know what is.) The blood effects on the DVD took me by surprise – they’d been excised from the TV version (with very good reason). It’s clear they inspired Tarrantino in “Kill Bill.” The film’s 82-minute running time is perfect.

I now have my very own Rakoshi scar. It was a three-pronged attack, delivered, with uncanny accuracy, to my chest.
The attacker? None other than Andrew - the previously happy, now mysteriously grumpy, twin. I think I'll go and get the nail-clippers!

Is it just me or has anyone else found themselves in the same situation --

Movies I went to the big screen to see and thought -- ahh it it was ok not great..

Then later at home I rented the movie again and well to be honest enjoyed it at home more..
Don't know if it was because at home I was more relaxed -- wasn't paying 60+ bucks for the family to see a movie and get some popcorn -- or why..

Recent examples of what I am saying are --

Kingdom of Heaven -- went to the big screen and was disappointed
Watched it at home months later and enjoy it

Batman -- ditto

Anyone else find that at times movies at home are better?

PS __ only watched them on a 27" TV not like it was a monster home theater..

( Many movies dont fit into this catagory)
