I was wondering if there will be any more signed copies of the new RPJ novel and of the Histories series? I'm interested, but found out about them after they had already been sold out. Also is there any chance of F. Paul Wilson doing a book signing in the greater St. Louis area? In addition to plowing my way through the entire existing series, I've managed to turn other friends on to these wonderful books. In any case, thank you Mr. Wilson for your wonderful contribution to the literary world and to the twisted imagination of this paramedic!

I just finished the entire series, the Gold Edition. It's been years since I had seen anything other than the first seven episodes and overall I still enjoyed it. I think outside of a couple of storylines, the Andy/Lucy/Dick Tremayne and the Lana/Dwayne ones specifically, the show still crackled with tons of quirky energy. The writing was frequently brilliant and always interesting. The ensemble cast was one of the best ever I thought both Ray Wise and Kenneth Welsh were superior as the shows primary villians. All in all, it still remains one of my all time favorite TV shows.

But I must say that it had one of the worst finales in history; The Black Lodge was such a letdown. Certainly the show was known for being offbeat and The Black Lodge certainly qualified, but it was strange in a not so good and boring way(a recurring problem I have with much of Lynch's work).

The extras in the Gold Edition offer welcome insight into how the show was created.

I think we can all agree that Scientology is the main inspiration. However, I'm refering to when Cooper Blascoe first started it in Northern California in '68 and it was just about money, women and drugs. Since first reading Crisscross I've learned of a religion... okay, cult... called The Family International or Children of God. Started in Huntington Beach, California (yeah, yeah, Southern California) in '68. They gain converts by Flirty Fishing (or FFing). Which is, they have sex with people to convert them. Which, I think, is what Blascoe would have wanted. :p

Or I could be completely off.

I've heard both yes and no answers before, but the other night i was cruising the information superhighway ( thats the internet for you youngins) and came across a couple sources ( which of ocurse I did not bookmark like a smart person would have) claiming that nightworld will be redone giving Jack a more pivotal role in the game.

I am all for this, as I am a jack fan above all else. And it would make sense given how much more detailed this universe has become over the last 11 books. So... Is it being tweaked, redone, or just plain left alone?

Before someone at Universal decides to pull it, someone has uploaded a whole bunch of great episodes of NIGHT GALLERY on youtube. I was able to watch my favorites: "Messiah Of Mott Street" Edward G. Robinson's final performance and a fitting last triumph, "Cool Air" from Lovecraft, "Pickman's Model", and "The Devil Is Not Mocked" with Frances Lederer back as the thirsty count (he starred in 58's "Return Of Dracula"). Lots more too!
Tune in and enjoy friends!!

Has anyone seen Phantasm? In a theatre?

I remember Phantasm, because I saw it in a theatre when I was a kid. It frightened me! Who the hell was that Tall Man?! And that silver ball with blades and drill! Ugh! That was ultimately scary! I can't see almost screen.

And now....

Finally DVD came out, and I saw it tonight again. 27 or 28 years later, now I thought I can see it perfectly, but even now I felt it scary, and creepy. When Mike cut Tall Man's fingers, yellow blood spewed! Ewwwww!!! I recalled nightmare......

I recently had the chance to finally read "SIBS" and was pleasantly surprised by the minor tie-in with "Legacies". I always thought that scene in Legacies had to have some deeper meaning and now I know. These little tie-ins between books is the one of the main reasons I enjoy FPW's works. As for fix-its, that one he pulled with the house on 22nd (23rd?) has got to be one of the best.

Not as good as oil and tires of course but stellar nontheless....

This popped up on You Tube. For those of you who haven't seen it, here was the ending of (I presume) Mann's original cut. It was also the ending shown on ABC's Movie of the Week. This one is more in line with the way the novel ended (though not so painfully drawn out).

*I'll* certainly be buying. I love this movie, and this director's cut is supposed to be very good (not to mention it HAS been a full year and a half since I first heard they were coming up with this). I'm excited; are you?

I think that the ladies with dogs are similar to Gaia, or Mother Earth. Think about it, a small group of immortal women with dogs, animals that are "man's best friend". Any thoughts?
