Does anybody know of a cool 1280x1024 Repairman Jack desktop wallpaper?

Caution:eek:: Rant ahead + minor spoilers:confused:

Good grief you new folks are coming out of the woodwork (or a hole in the ground). An awesome thing of course and I envy most of you. You just get to jump in and read 10 RPJ books in a month or two. Me? The second book I read with Jack was Nightworld. I had to wait half my life for the second RPJ books (Legacies) to come out. And then bite my nails waiting for each one. And the envy doesn't stop there. Most of you are sticklers for the rules. You haven't read "Reprisal", "The Touch" or "Nightworld". I have and know everything that's going to happen in the end. When Gia got pregnant? No happiness here. I knew she'd lose it somehow. Abe? When he gets...ok I'll stop there. I start talking anagrams and a good portion of you haven't even heard of most of them. Julio's weddin...OK, I'll stop.

The problem is that almost every single thread around here has to be labled "SPOILERS AHEAD" for those newbies who haven't read most of the AC. Am I suggesting you read everything now so you know what happens in the end? Of course not. I'd love to discuss stuffs and not worry about my Sara Lom's and Rafe Losmara's but I won't. Most of you haven't even discovered your Xelton's true name yet! By Noomri!

Maybe we should create a subsection of the board. RPJ Lite or something where the AC challenged can go and hang. Just kidding. Cherish your ignorance! I'd love to abolish my memory of what's coming but I can't. So I can only live vicariously through your unknowingliness!

I guess what I'm getting at is that all of the Wapster's and Libster's are climbing the Fusion Ladder and we need to start labeling you as such. "Fusion Aspirants" or something appropriate. Well, maybe the Wapster will turn out to be a Null because his Xelton will never get out of bed but I kinda doubt it.

Maybe we could get a designation under your names that would be determined by where you are in the AC scheme of things. You fill out a form and check off all of the books that you HAVE read and the computer program that somebody other than myself is going to write will automatically assign you your designate. Read another book, update your profile and you climb the Fusion Ladder! Big Grin FPW would be the only one with Full Fusion under his name of course. Others could be Fusion Initiates, Fusion Aspirants, Temple Overseer, Grand Paladins and so forth.

Those that fail to log into the boards for 60 days or more would be immediately labled a "Lapsed Fusion Aspirant"

I'm sure the computer could even work in some Sham Fusions, Nulls and even Wall Addicts (those who pretend to read Jack but only read Nora Roberts books).

What prompted this (quite possibly ill advised) rant? Maybe I had a bad day at work. Maybe I can't find any Rolling Rock. Maybe I'm perturbed that I STILL don't know how Eli Glinn is alive after the events in The Ice Limit (damn you P & C!). Or maybe I'm just bummed that I came across my 1992 version of Nightworld which I thought I had hidden so I wouldn't read it but obviously didn't do a good job and wouldn't you know it I'm on page 63.

OK. Rant over.

Can anyone here name a moving with Bruce Willis where he doesn't have a gun? I can't. Has anyone else noticed this?

I know Sarah Silverman is popular among some boardwalkers here, so I highly recommend The Sarah Silverman Program to her fans and to those not easily offended who don't know her. Sarah is at the top of her game and she has surrounded herself with a funny cast. Just a quick idea of what to expect: in one episode Sarah has the blahs so she decides she needs some good news so she goes for free HIV testing to receive the good news that she is negative for HIV. Much chaos ensues as she ends becoming an Aids Awareness spokesperson.

I like "Sin City" and "300". I really like Frank Miller's works.

come from. My books are downstairs right now but it was either Harbingers or bloodlines where the intended victim is tied up and drowned. I can't remember all the details. I'm tired and it's been a long day....but I was wondering how one comes up with that! Did you try it out on someone first. Big Grin Guns, microwaves, alligators all make sense but that was torture. love it!

OK, another LOST list. This time it's flashbacks or flashforwards that you'd like to see. Who would you like to see or what do you want to know?
  • Danielle's backstory
  • Ben's adolescence into young manhood
  • How/why Desmond wound up in military prison
  • Flashforward on Sawyer, which means it shows the future on the Island...we'll probably never see that
  • Richard Alpert's story
  • the 4-toed statue story
  • the Island in ancient times, take that anywhere you want
  • Jacob's story
  • Tom, aka Mr. Friendly, how'd he wind up on the Island
  • more on the interconnectedness of all the people on the Island

OK, that's a beginning....

bones weep tedium Wrote:
  • What is the smoke monster?

  • What actually cured Locke's paralysis?

  • What's up with that 4-toed statue?

  • What made Rousseau's original crew sick, so sick that she felt she had to kill them to keep whatever it was from spreading into the world?

  • What or who are the whisperers?

  • How come Richard Alpert hasn't aged?

  • Where did Richard Alpert and his crew come from? How did they come to be on the Island?

  • Where did Michael and Walt wind up?

  • How come Hurley hasn't lost any significant weight?

  • Why did little baby Aaron HAVE to born on the Island, as Claire's psychic said?

  • What happened to the body of Desmond's hatch mate, Kelvin?

  • Why was Desmond in military prison, besides being unable or unwilling to follow orders? What specifically happened that he was thrown into the brig?

  • Who is Jacob?

  • What happened to Jack's Dad's body, and who sat it in a chair in Jacob's cabin?

Just thought I'd bring this back, since more has happened in the series....

  • how did Ben leave the Island?
  • How does Been get back to the Island
  • Why do flashforwards with Kate annoy me so much? - that's a retorical question. Big Grin
  • did Clair actually have a conversation with her dad? did he answer her; we only saw her say "dad?"
  • who created that door behind Ben's hidey hole, how old is it?
  • What did Ben do to call the smoke monster?
  • Rose brought it up, so I'll ask it, too. How is it that Jack got sick on the Island?

I know we've been knocking these ideas around for a while, but I like lists. :p

I was wondering if there will be any more signed copies of the new RPJ novel and of the Histories series? I'm interested, but found out about them after they had already been sold out. Also is there any chance of F. Paul Wilson doing a book signing in the greater St. Louis area? In addition to plowing my way through the entire existing series, I've managed to turn other friends on to these wonderful books. In any case, thank you Mr. Wilson for your wonderful contribution to the literary world and to the twisted imagination of this paramedic!

I just finished the entire series, the Gold Edition. It's been years since I had seen anything other than the first seven episodes and overall I still enjoyed it. I think outside of a couple of storylines, the Andy/Lucy/Dick Tremayne and the Lana/Dwayne ones specifically, the show still crackled with tons of quirky energy. The writing was frequently brilliant and always interesting. The ensemble cast was one of the best ever I thought both Ray Wise and Kenneth Welsh were superior as the shows primary villians. All in all, it still remains one of my all time favorite TV shows.

But I must say that it had one of the worst finales in history; The Black Lodge was such a letdown. Certainly the show was known for being offbeat and The Black Lodge certainly qualified, but it was strange in a not so good and boring way(a recurring problem I have with much of Lynch's work).

The extras in the Gold Edition offer welcome insight into how the show was created.
