I was just on ebay and found a signed copy of the Tomb with slipcase signed by FPW and the publisher (#4 of 299) for $300.00 in change. All I can say is WOW.

Giggled my way through this stoner comedy this morning. Certainly not for everyone, but if you appreciate Cheech and Chong style humor you'll like this. As a former stoner, it was fun to see myself and my buds a few times in Jane F.'s(Anna Farris) actions during the course of her crazy day.

Hi all,

Just wanted to check to see if anyone has received a copy of By the Sword yet? I am a long time Repairman Jack fan and a short time lurker on this board. I thought I saw a post by fpw about it being shipping out last Friday. Just wondering if anyone had any news.

Thanks!

I saw this on Saturday.

I read all of the books when I was a kid and Prince Caspian was my favorite. I think they did a good job.
but
They added in a whole sequence that wasnt in the book. Perhaps they couldnt get the story to work otherwise?
And I dont remember Caspian and Susan having a 'thing' in the book. And there wasnt such a rivalry between Peter and Caspian in the book. In the book Caspian knew they were fighting to make him king. Also in the book Caspian loved the animals and they ways of old Narnia. in the movie its as if he just learned of it and chose their side because the other side meant death.

but overall it was worth seeing in the theater. And I cant wait for The Voyage of the Dawn Treader

My friend and I are having an argument about what Abes race is. Anybody know?

I wasn't head-over-heels in love with the movie, but I DID like it. It was dazzling to watch, had a neat multi-layered narrative, and had some pretty funny scenes. Matthew Fox always stole the show when he appeared as Racer X, however; I just couldn't stop thinking, "Jack...get that mask off. You look ridiculous" - but in a good way. It was a fun, innocent ride (I swear that word just came out, it was not intended to be a pun), and I liked it all the more for the flak it's been getting.

Did anyone else here like it enough to qualify it in the "good" range?

Looks from the poster like it is set in a (semi) tropical location (maybe Absurdistan?) and, reportedly, involves a handicapped repairman, surfer, and his triumph over adversity. Rex Pickett wrote and directed Sideways.

But does anyone else see a similarity in this poster and another long awaited movie by a similar name that we are all famiiliar with?

Repairman movie

Time to get Forge's and Beacon's legal departments involved? Time will tell.

Today, I saw three movies in my neighbourhood's theatre (That theatre is only three minutes away from my house!).Confusedmilewinkgrin:

The Bucket List:

This is really wonderful story. Two patients were strangers in a hospital room. But the doctor gave them a couple of weeks to live. They made the bucket list for things to do until they die. Then they decided to get out from hospital.

It's not simply tearjerker. It made me laugh a lot. What an exciting adventures!

This movie says "Not about how to die. How to live". Their last moments were brightest in their life. I want to live without regret like them.

Charlie Wilson's War:

It say "This is based on the true story."
But that "true" story is simple. US congressman Charlie Wilson sold weapons to Afghanistan. The Soviet Empire left from Afghanistan. But result is very ironic.
They fucked up. That result is 9/11!
Rolleyes

I'm Not There:

They're all different features, but they are one person. He is a poet. He is a revolutionist. He is an outlaw. He is a father, and husband. He is Rock star.

Yes, he is Bob Dylan.

It sound like "What movie am I?". But that's "I'm Not There".

But I'm still confused. What is this movie? This is not a documentary of Dylan. Not biographic of Dylan. Even his name is not Bob Dylan. He has many names in this movie. Jack, Jude, Woody, Billy, Robbie, and Arthur.

Some great actors and actresses played Bob Dylan. Especially Cate Blanchett was brilliant!

I recommend this to Bluesman Mike. I think he understand this movie.

My dislike and outright confusion over Donnie Darko is well documented here on the board, so unbeknownst to me I rented Richard Kelly's(the writer/director of D.D.) Southland Tales. It makes D. D. seem like a simple math problem by comparison. It was so confusing that I watched bits of several times to see if I was missing something, but it turns out it was missing a coherent plot. Kelly tried to make a comedy about the apocolypse and instead wound up an apocolyptic mess.

This one is for film masochists only. IMDB it and see if you don't get a chuckle out the character's names(it only gets worse from there).
