All right...this is my first post. I have tried a number of searches to see if this has been addressed, but I'm either completely inept at choosing correct search terms (highly plausible) or this has not been addressed (highly unlikely).

As a birthday present, my wife got me the Borderlands Press complete Adversary Cycle set (what a gal!). The spine art is striking! HOWEVER, if I put the books in the originally published order, the spine art does NOT align properly. BUT, if I put the books in the following order, then the spine art is perfectly aligned:

The Keep
The Touch
Rakoshi
Reborn
Reprisal
Nightworld

So, essentially, in order to put the spine art together correctly, I have to transpose "The Touch" and "Rakoshi". Was this ON PURPOSE, or an error?

Thanks!

Here's an idea I have been kicking around...

Years after The Dark Knight, the Joker was put away in Arkham and murdered shortly after and Batman has gone underground. Bruce Wayne is working vicariously through his company to help clean up the streets of Gotham. So, Wayne Enterprises begins hiring on more personnel. One of which is Selina Kyle, a young, beautiful and tough woman. She quickly catches Bruce's eye and he decides to try to court her to speed up the healing process from his lost love Rachel. Dr. Jeremiah Arkham has recently taken control of Arkham Asylum from his Uncle Amadeus and has put a plan in motion himself. He believes that all Arkham inmates can become rehabilitated members of society. So, he brings in a doctor the head up this project, Dr. Harleen Quinzel. Dr. Quinzel, though, has a plan of her own. She is obsessed with the Joker and, upon hearing of his murder, decided that she must seek revenge. So, while interviewing inmates, she tries to discover who it was that killed the Joker. The second part of her plan is to kill the person that put the Joker away, Batman. Commissioner Gordon has had a team of his "top" detectives searching for clues as to the identity of the now missing Batman. Since the appearances of Batman have become more and more scarce, the team really has nothing to investigate. Soon, they find that they keep running into a private detective who has been hired by an unknown source. The detective continually becomes a thorn in Gordon's side by continuously searching and not dropping the case. The detective, Edward Nygma, is determined and will not stop until he solves the riddle of who is the Batman? Bruce and Selina continue to date while Dr. Quinzel begins to interview a new patient, Dr. Jonathan Crane. Nygma becomes obsessed with the Batman until he gets to the point of not sleeping and spending every minute trying to put together the clues. Finally, he gives up and snaps. He decides that the only way to find Batman is to draw him out (His financial backer also encourages this train of thought). He takes on the persona of the Riddler and begins a reign of crime on Gotham. His backer gives him support with some criminals from Gotham's underbelly. Bruce takes notice of this new criminal and is torn between stopping the Riddler by becoming Batman again and having the ones he loves get hurt again. During a hypnosis session with Dr. Crane, Dr. Quinzel gets out that Crane was the one who murdered the Joker. Upon hearing this, Dr. Quinzel jabs her pen into Crane's throat and keeps stabbing him uncontrollably. She lets out a high pitched laugh as his blood spatters onto her. She finally stops, stands shakily and turns to find two orderlies standing behind her. Taken off guard, she stares at them shocked. One of them says Dr. Arkham would like to see you, we'll take care of this. This confuses her but she complies. She leaves and heads to Dr. Arkham's office. She gets to Arkham's office and finds it dark with a single light. Arkham is sitting at his desk with his back to her. He tells her that he knew she wasn't here to just be a doctor and that he knows she had a thing for the Joker. He tells her he knows she wants revenge and he believes he can help her. She asks how and he turns to reveal that his face is covered by a black mask. He says he knows who the Batman is and has already set a plan in motion to bring him down. She asks what the plan is. He says he has united all of the crime families, gangs and sindicates and infiltrated major points of importance including Wayne Enterprises and he has a pawn, Riddler, working on bringing Batman out of hiding. He asks if she wants to be partners. She responds by saying call me Harley. Arkham calls Riddler and gives him instructions. Bruce later gets a call from Selina and she is frantic. The Riddler takes over the call and tell Wayne that he wants Batman to meet him and Selina on top of Wayne Tower at midnight. Bruce slams down the phone and suits up. Riddler is holding Selina hostage right at midnight when Batman arrives to Wayne Tower. Riddler releases Selina and attacks Batman. Selina gets to the roof exit and tries to escape while Batman and Riddler fight. Watching from afar, Harley is holding a detonator while Black Mask stands beside her. He tells her that everything should be in place in Wayne Tower, his men finished the day before. Harley gives out a high pitched laugh and pushes the button. Wayne Tower explodes into the Gotham night.

If this were to come to be I think Gotham would be a good name... or 3 guys a girl and a feline. Also, here's who I think would be good in the roles. Scarlett Johansson as Harley, Daniel Day Lewis as Arkham, Ellen Page as Selina Kyle and take your pick for the riddler Joseph Gordon Levitt, Emile Hirsch or Johnny Depp but I'd prefer Levitt. Let me know how terrible this idea is...

Don't any of us watch movies any more? Barely ant reviews these days.

Anyway I got many a laugh out of Death At A Funeral. A dysfunctional British family reunites for a funeral and much carnage ensues-much of it quite funny. Allen Tuydk was hilariious as a future son-in-law who gets slipped a mickey; he has as many facial expressions as Jim Carrey.

I see they have made an American version with Chris Rock and martin Lawrence and without having seen it, I'm still going to recommend you do yourself a favor and watch the original instead.

OK before I procede I would like everyone to know I have not yet read all the postings on the RJ Movie and such. Also I am a bad speller so bare with me.

Now I am completely in love with this series as I am sure everyone here is. I am dying to see it on the screen as well. However I do not think it would work as a movie. Mostly becuase there are so many books, and if anything the person playing Jack would not hold up in age being how long it would take to film each movie.

So I present another Idea. A Mini Series.

I would have to be on HBO or Showtime I would think. But think about it. You could cover a whole book in one if not two episodes (no commercials), Each book lasts about a week so the pace would be perfect. You could complete the whole series of books in two seasons, and I am damn sure it would be known as the best series ever on television. Now I'm not going to get into who should play who and such, I just wanted to know what everyone thought of this idea. I am probably not the first to come up with the idea but I am still curious. Make the episodes and hour to and hour and a half. How two seasons. I think it would be a hit. So please let me know what you all think. And hold off on the bashing and mean remarks, I'm just a jack lover who wants to have a fun conversation.

Love you FPW

I see Amazon has started listing Fatal Error as being available to pre-order for the October release.

Hi guys.

I just finished reading Reborn yesterday and had a couple of questions pop in my head that I thought that I would throw out to the general FPW public.

1. Is the Hanley/Stevenson Mansion from Reborn the same as Toad Hall in The Touch?

2. When does Reprisal hit stores? I've heard late 2010 to early 2011.

3. Will The Keep and The Tomb be released in the same format as The Touch and Reborn? I assume that Reprisal and Nightworld will be in the same format.

4. Does FPW still do monthly newsletters? I wasn't sure since he has a Facebook presence.

I think that about covers it for now.

I guess I'll wrap up by saying that I've been a fan of FPW for about 12 years or so now. I've managed to get all of his RJ novels and am thrilled that he is rereleasing the Adversary Cycle. I'm sad to see the RJ books wrapping up, but am intrigued by the ideas I've seen FPW post on FB and the forums here.

Has anyone caught Archer on FX yet? I give it A's all the way around. Great animation, lot's of style, tip top writing, and a great cast. If you liked Jessica Walter on Arrested Development you should see her here with the gloves off. Some of the best one liners I've heard in a long time. The show is available on Hulu if you want to give it a shot.

Today is the opening day, and I saw "Shelter" in a theater.

A female forensic psychiatrist meet patients. Her father diagnose he is multiple personalities. At first, she doesn't believe he is multiple personalities. But soon she find out his secrets were in his past. Then.......

Oops! Sorry, but I can't say spoilers about this brilliant thriller anymore. :crossedlips: Big Grin

All I can say is Julianne Moore play forensic psychiatrist, and Jonathan Rhys Meyers play patient. His performance was awesome. Some scenes had chilly moments.

If you like "Fallen", "Primal Fear", I recommend this to you.

I was browsing through I-Tunes and noticed they have an unabridged version of "The Tomb" available. Since this has not been released on audio before(to my knowledge) I was thrilled to see it.

I have been hoping for a while that all the Repairman Jack novels would be released on audio. I'm not sure why they didn't release "Ground Zero" since they released the previous two. As someone who spends a lot of time in the car and has relatives with vision problems, I've always been a big fan of audiobooks.

They also have FPW himself reading "Sex Slaves of the Dragon Tong".

KINDLE has just issued all the LaNague Federation fiction - 5 novels and 5 bonus short stories - in Kindle format. This is the first time everything LaNague has been in print at once. They're priced low ($2.99) to spread the laissez-faire gospel. Here's a link to the press release: http://tinyurl.com/y98sk7z
