After recently reading "Aftershock and Others" and rereading "Lipidleggin'" I started to wonder what everyones favorite short story by our favorite writer is.

A couple of mine are "Foet" and "Lipidleggin" because of the social commentary angle that they have. Really fitting for a lot of things today.

I also have become a big fan of "Itsy bitsy spider". I have an aversion to spiders and this story gave me a nightmare the night I read it. Alright, I was up way too late and had other stuff stressing me out at the time but I had a nightmare that one of the big old nastys was looking at me through my bedroom window.

I also really like "Demonsong" but maybe not for reasons that would seem obvious. I like it because it, to me shows a writing style so unlike the F. Paul Wilson that we read now. I like to think that we are seeing the evolution of FPW but I am sure it was more intentional on FPWs part than that.

Others?

Took the kids to see this last week and really enjoyed myself.

There was one scene that was just a little too intense for Gracie but other than that she really really enjoyed it and is now obsessed with Vikings and Dragons.

The only thing that I could say negative about it, and it is super minor is why do the Vikings have Scottish accents? (Gerard Butler and Craig Ferguson voice two of the main characters).

I watched this movie last night and was pleasantly surprised. I had never even heard of it before seeing it on the list of available to watch online at Netflix.

It is based on the true story of Martin McGartland who was caught between the IRA and the British special units in the 80s and 90s. Ben Kingsley is good as the British agent who manipulates Martin but the guy who played Martin, Jim Sturgess is really really good.

My local Hollywood Video store is going out of business and is selling all of their stock. I walked out of the store with 20 movies for 20 bucks! SWEET!!! I've already had a Bigfoot/Sasquatch mini marathon, (I found three b rate horror flicks on the smelly brute) and a mini FPW festival with Pelts and Midnight Mass.

I've yet to do a Exorcist marathon (I own the first but picked up the second and third) but it'll be coming soon.

I also found:
Loaded Weapon
Duets
Mystery Alaska
Dead Bang

and a whole host of others.

I don't know if all the stores are closing, but it might be worth your time to see if any are going under in your neighborhood.

I'm not sure I had ever seen this before last night. I used to watch a martial arts theatre type of show on saturday mornings and I don't thinl I could name any of them by their title so it is a possible I had seen it before. Anyway, it is definitely better than the average chopsoki film. It has a decent plot and the fighting wasn't too outrageous but the real reason it stood out is Sonny Chiba as Terry Sugury. He is a total bad ass with his own sense of right and wrong. I believe that FPW is a fan and I could certainly see elements of RJ in Terry.

I went to the link on the newsletter. The do not click link...
The horror! I cannot grind the memory of what I saw there off the gray matter! Why, Dr Wilson? Why???? I'd hate to browse your computer's history after seeing this.

Oh, well. Atleast I was warned.

Yesterday I bought anthology "He Is Legend", and one of stories was "Recalled" by FPW!

It seems sequel of The Distributor by Richard Matheson.

One question but possibility for spoiler
At the ending, one man appeared in front of Theodor Gordon.

Is he..... Jack? Is this one of Repairman Jack stories?
I've never heard about this before. But it was really cool. I really liked it.

Hope this isn't a spoiler question, but does anybody know what sword was used to make the Gaijin Masamune from Black Wind and By the Sword?

We know it was given to Masamune by Glaeken in the 14th century "to refashion his heavy dirk into a kodachi - a kind of short sword". In 1941, the Gaijin Masamune is in the possession of Matsuo Okumo.

We also know it can't be Glaeken's sword from The Keep since he uses it to "kill" Ra... the Adversary in Romania in 1941.

Can someone shed some light on this?

Thanks in advance.

Just saw a clear pic and he is NOT pretty (which is a good thing). The make-up almost makes my stomach churn. This movie better NOT suck.
