I went to see The Artist last night and really enjoyed it. I wasn't sure about seeing a silent movie (mainly because I've never seen one). The relationship between the two main characters is described as a growing romance. I'm not entirely sure that I'd characterize it as a romance. There's an attraction at first, but she lets it go after seeing that the guy is buying jewelry to appease his wife. After that, I'd say her actions are more out of friendship, concern, and a bit of guilt. Just my take on it...

Fun to watch and something that's really different. I'm glad that I saw it in the theater, because I'm not sure it would look the same when condensed to fit my small TV.

"Gigantic Death Worm" is the kind of story that happens when you allow a grade-A lunatic access to a computer.

The story starts off with a homo-erotic ski-lift masturbation scene (played for laughs) and culminates in wolf-spitting bears attacking a trio of the worlds worst human beings. That's right, bears that spit wolves.

If someone ever asked you to define bat-sh*t crazy, simply point them to Vince Kramer. His debut novel (Novella is more accurate, clocking in at just 69 pages, of which I am sure was no coincidence.) is rife with college humor, sex, drugs, alcohol, giant worms, Mexican Ninjas, and enough crazy to make Gary Busey green with envy.

This is not to say that the story is not at all enjoyable. Quite the contrary, it is enjoyable to a staggering degree that defies comprehension. There is plenty offense enough to properly offend anyone but instead of being angry you simply laugh your butt off.

Gigantic Death Worm is part social satire, part drug-induced hallucination, and 100 percent fun. Christians in particular should pick up this novel for the underlying themes of the love of Christ for a sinful race, redemption and the power of prayer.

You could do a lot worse for under ten bucks. (Dime bag purchase not withstanding.)

Hiya folks!

It's been awhile Smile Just started my boyfriend on the adult Jack series, and plan to introduce it to several of my other friends soon, so I've been rereading them to get pumped. I have all the YA Jack books too, so I can't wait to dig into the last two, which I haven't read yet.

Thinking about those YA Jack books and the somewhat recent barrage of YA books in general, I wanted to pick your collective brains about the modern development of this genre. Some young adult books are very light and easy reads (Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants), while others are violent and downright kind of scary (later Harry Potter books and the theme of Hunger Games comes to mind immediately. And Twilight, where I find some of the attitudes in the books kind of alarming).

What now determines what's appropriate for YA books? The language and writing style/complexity? A lack of overt sexual scenes/profanity? Tackling coming-of-age topics head on? That the main character is a young person? Many of my friends (in their mid/late-20s) have been reading YA books eagerly (like the Hunger Games), so it seems like the genre is bleeding out into adult audiences much more than I remember, back when I was closer to what I'd consider a "young adult".

Hello all, I am selling most of my library collection, including all of my F. Paul Wilson first editions. I have them listed on Alibris, but not getting much attention there. Thought I'd drop a note here to all the other fans and see if anyone is interested. Also, am I getting few hits because of the economy, do you think? Or are there better places to sell his books? I know about Amazon and Abe books, but haven't listed there yet.

I searched the forum and didn't see any final decision on availability. Did I miss a post maybe?

Hello,
I'm new to the boards but I've been reading these books for over 10 years. The problem is, I've read some of them so long ago that I can't remember which book is which. Let me explain. I've gone through the book descriptions and I've even looked at Amazon to try to refresh my mind on which book is which but I can't remember the title of a certain one. My father in law had loaned me the books and I can't get to them to reread them all right now. However, I do want to read some of the old ones before I read the last one. Does that make sense? Anyway, the book that I'm trying to find has Jack, and a bunch of others stuck in a house or an apartment building and they're not able to go out because of creatures coming out of a hole in Central Park. Now, I know that NightWorld is supposed to have a similar storyline but I know for 100% that I have already read a book in this series that describes this and that I read it years and years ago. Did F. Paul Wilson talk about this in an earlier book? I'm not a troll or whatever, I'm really confused and trying to figure this out because it's driving me crazy. Please help.
