I just finished reading The Touch and in the forward to "Dat-tey-vao" FPW says that events in Reborn lead to the Dat-tey-vao coming to the US. I can't recall what he is referring to. Can anyone help?

Anyone else dismayed that Jack is becoming a superhero? This went from weird crime/thriller to sci-fi.
I read the complete series thru nightworld years ago and was happy with it. I have been thrilled to read the new additions, but this last one struck me wrong. Part of why I love Jack is that he is an everyman. Anyone with the right training or will could be Jack. Jack was Batman. With this story and the nonsense in his blood, he is essentially Superman. IE: something the reader can never achieve. We all fantasize about being heroes in the books we read and Jack was one within the grasp of the average man.

I am going to read the newer books, but I am glad I did not get rid of my original set.

Hello all,

I'm new to the board and could not find this mentioned elsewhere.

I have been a fan of FPW's work off and on through the years from The Keep and into as many of the RPJ books as my wife and I have been able to get ahold of. Caught up with Reprisal upon reading Dark At the End.

I'm referring to Nook editions of both books and I believe Reprisal is the updated text. This is a glaring continuity problem that I'm hoping FPW or someone here can clear up that is really bothering me.

I will try to limit spoilers.

In Reprisal, Rasalom can "raise" the dead (i.e. Herb Lom) and even worse (i.e. Danny). He can also perform the rather mundane task of driving a sports car.

Now, forward to Dark At the End and Rasalom laments the fact that he has lost the power to animate the dead since his rebirth. He then reveals that he has never learned to drive a car! But mere weeks earlier, he was tooling all around North Carolina in his Maserati.

Is the text on Nook not, in fact, updated or was something missed?

For being the age I am most of my peers look down on me for liking them, but i can't help it. I get their songs stuck in my head. Then i start humming them and it is all over when someone asks me, "Is that Disney?" I sigh and nodded. You do agree that Disney is Awesome no matter you age? If so, which one is you favorite? :llama:

Starting at midnight tonight, get your free copy of my short "Candy" on Amazon. It includes another story, but I can't remember what it is at the moment. amzn.to/yo0ADo

My first Byte column is up. I'm kinda busy, so Jack's channeling me.

I've spent the last few months reading through The Secret History and now I'm on the Reprisal reissue, and.. holy cow this book is amazing.

I won't spoil anything, but it has only been a few months since I (re)read Reborn, but with the bulk of the RJ series I've read since then it's like I've felt the years between the two stories and it's been amazing finding out what's gone on with a certain character.

I can't put it down.

Is the new version of "Nightworld" being released in ebook format? I see that Amazon and Barnes & Noble have the hardcover listed for pre-order for release on May 22 but neither show an ebook version. Any info???

But as the article more than implies, it is highly unlikely to be a film based on Paul's retitled Repairman Jack classic, RAKOSHI.
