After writing for (static) years, doing the same-old, same-old, something new: Sarah Pinborough and I (we're collaborating on a novella), sitting at our desks on different continents, each chose a character to channel and let them argue back and forth in a Google document. I'm astounded by the result. The argument became more barbed and went places neither of us would have taken it alone. We both learned things about the characters we never knew. The possibilities leave me kind of giddy.

I've been looking for the adversary cycle on MP3 audio book. Nothing could make my 2 hour daily commute through Detroit more enjoyable. Does. Anyone know where to find them as an MP3 download. I would like to find a real copy as well. (I would like Mr. Wilson to get paid for it) Does this even exist, and if not is it in the works? What would be the interest in the entire AC in an Audio format?

Yesterday I saw Lars Von Trier's new film, "Melancholia". His previous film, "Antichrist" was full of hopelessness and it annoyed me. Well, that's his movie.

So....how about "Melancholia"? I knew it's not happy end, but as in the title, it depressed me. The story was simple than "Antichrist". It's about apocalyptic end of the world. A gigantic planet "Melancholia" is coming to Earth.

On the night of Justine and Michael's wedding, suddenly Justine become depressing. It was gorgeous wedding paid for by her sister Claire and brother-in-law John. They got mad about her; "Sometimes I hate you!". Meanwhile, a huge blue planet:Melancholia pass by to Earth. John say "Everything's okay. It's only just passing by Earth. It doesn't clash to Earth". But Claire can't believe him and she lost mind.

Kirsten Dunst's playing Justine. Her acting was excellent. And Kiefer Sutherland's playing her brother-in-law. Surprisingly he play normal guy! No guns, no yell.

It's about depression, but it isn't depressing at all. You know what I mean? Even I don't know. I was not depression.

Visual is amazingly beautiful. At the last moments, Melancholia clash to Earth. If end of the world comes, I like this way....

Oh, maybe I have mental depression.

Anyone watching this? I've only watched the two hour premiere and it was so-so. I'll hold ultimate judgement until I've seen a few more episodes. It's shot like a documentary in the jungle, so there's a bit of shakey-cam action. That results in never really seeing whatever it is that's chasing the characters. A son and mom are looking for dad. They're accompanied by a film crew. The dad went missing because he was looking for the magic in the world. It looks as though each episode will deal with some new form of supernatural horror. There were some pretty creepy moments. Such as this:

I know you're busy working on the final YA Jack Trilogy, but I'm curious if you've got some ideas for new material floating around in that imagination of yours, Paul.
:typing:

I know a lot of folks here (including myself) will miss Jack because they identify with him so well, but I understand he needs to be put to rest.
:deadhorse:

Can you give your loyal fans any ideas of future material you might be destined to write?
Fantasy, Sci-Fi, Medical Thrillers, Horror, etc.?

I hope you don't plan on retiring from your writing career anytime soon, because We The Fans still need you!

Sincerely,
Srem

(btw, love all the new emoticons)

I have been a fan of Jack since 1984. I was walking down Houston Street to go to a business appointment at 10 am and glanced towards the river. I stopped dead in my tracks when I spotted a neon sign a block away, that said "Ear". I ran down the street in my suit, topcoat, carrying my laptop, until I got to the sign. Sure enough, the right side of the "B" had been painted over. It was closed, and I was on my way to a meeting, or I would have gone in, sat in the corner under the huge ear and ordered a point of Hoegaarden. The book? By The Sword.
