I saw KB2 yesterday and loved it -- LOVED it. The attention to detail is fabulous -- the over-exposed black-and-white sequences, the faded colors in the Pai Mei flashback (which included a super-fast eye zoom that was obligatory in old school kung-fu movies).

I can't believe some people thought it slow and talky. Relative to KB1, yes, anything is slow and talky, but if you hadn't seen KB1 you'd call KB2 a wild ride.

As for talky, I did not experience a single restive moment (and I have the attention span these days of a gnat). Bill's Superman analysis floored me. I've read comics for half a century and I never saw the fundamental difference between Superman and other super heroes. And it's not just talk -- it relates to the story.

Some people thought the end didn't pay off. Huh? She'd already sliced and diced and gouged her way through almost 4 hrs of film. Her final revenge called for something more.

I can't wait for the deluxe DVD set. This is a keeper.

Went to my 40th high school reunion over the weekend (40 YEARS! Oy!) and had a long talk with a classmate who's been in the FBI for 30-35 years. He was very down on the 9mm round. He swears my the .40 caliber. He was so adamant and made such a good case, I'm thinking of switching Jack to the .40.

I know you guys have touted the .40 over the 9mm before, but give me a few more deatails to help me make up Jack's mind.

Hi all.. I'm new to this board, and fairly new to FPW, but not RJ. I've read The Tomb/Legacies/Conspiracies/All The Rage/Hosts/Haunted Air, and I cant wait for more!

Well.. my question is about when Jack meets up with "Ed" from St. Joseph's, Ed tells Jack that someone confessed to him of hiring Jack. I have a feeling I'm just a bit slow and didnt catch on who confessed. Can someone fill me in?

PS: Can anyone recommend another FPW book to read next? I'm really afraid to venture in anything but RJ, because when it comes to science fiction, or really "out there stories", its hard for me to dig them unless they have a concrete "normal guy" like Jack. Another problem; I REALLY like Jack's character... so I'm scared that if I read anything else by FPW thats not Jack, I'll be dissapointed. Thanks in advance for any help!

Anyone know when CD are going to get their finger out with MM? I hate having to buy from them as they're just soooooo slow....I've had a Michael Slade S/L on back order (paid for) since Nov 2002!!! I emailed them before xmas about it and they said it'd be out within a month ie January 2004 but still no sign
Please don't get me wrong...I'm very happy to support small press but CD seem to be getting lots of things wrong lately (Sims anyone?!?)
Borderlands, Gauntlet and DM Grant always seem to be on on time but never CD.

Hi folks - I'm hoping to find slipcases and/or traycases to house some of my fpw stuff eg The Tery, Analog, Asimov, ARCs etc, etc. Does anyone know if they can be made singly? I've found a few sites but they're for the book trade ie the minimum run is 35 cases!

many thanks
Steve

I belive you're all aware of Russ Madden's review of Crisscross. Here's another:

And here's one of Midnight Mass: http://www.scifi.com/sfw/current/books.html

I'm looking at the new logo on the cover and spine of HAUNTED AIR and boy, do I miss the old logo. The old Jack looked cat-alert and ready for sudden action. The new one seems to be scratching his head in bewilderment.

Without giving away any plot points (I haven't finished reading the book yet) can anyone tell me whether this film is any good? I don't want to shell out my hard-earned to find The Keep mark two...
Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

During The Office thread I brought up a film called Ju-On 2. Here is the link to the trailer if anyone is interested.

I saw Kill Bill Vol. 2 tonight. I thought it was great. Much more character oriented as opposed to the almost total non-stop action of Vol. 1. There was some great depth to all the characters, but especially Bill. I won't give away anything, but if you liked the first volume, I think you will be even happier with this one.
