In The Thing from Another World when the men spread out along the edges of something under the ice and we see that it's big...and round.

F. Paul,

Is "Itsy Bitsy Spider" in the "Shivers III" anthology a straight port from "Great Authors and their Great Kids", or did you make changes?

Thanks!

Saw this the other night and realized I'd already seen it with the Georgetown film club sometime back when wooly mammoths were still used for transportation.

Hated it then, hated it more now.

I'm beating my head against a brick wall here, trying to figure out what I feel like reading. The most recent things I've read are:
1) a whole stack of FPW's medical thrillers (nearly guaranteeing that I will never set foot in a doctor's office or hospital again, ever)
2) Re-read The Exorcist
3) Two of Charlaine Harris' southern vampire novels (not high literature, but fun anyway)
4) 2nd Chance by James Patterson
5) Messenger by Edward Lee (which I read in less than 24 hours, and I'm still not sure if it was good, or a train wreck that I couldn't stop looking at)

I tried some H.P. Lovecraft, but it's really not at all what I'm in the mood for. I have no idea what I'm in the mood for, really. Anyone read anything great lately? LOL

As stated in the little blurbs in the RPJ books.

Well if he is I'd love to see a RPJ novel written in colaboration with Stephen King. The novel could have a connection to the Dark Tower story somehow. I'd love it!! Big Grin

What do you all think.

Hiya....I'm new to the board but my sister (noelie) posts here quite a bit so i figured it was high time i let my voice be heard Smile

I even came armed with a question hehe...

Recently i picked up a book of short stories by Lovecraft that contained a story called "Pickman's Model". It's about a reclusive painter who had a knack for painting ghoulish and morbid creatures. Long story short it turned out he had a hole in his basement that lead to another world and he was painting things he saw there.

It dawned on me while i was reading that it was very close to what happens in Conspiracies and i was just wondering if this story was part of the inspiration or if it was just a coincidence.

Hi, Paul. I have a suggestion for you.

I think you should publish your own bibliography and biography book. Didn't you ever think about it?
For example, thoughts about your own novels, about The Keep movie, about your life style, how to write RJ books and AC, about researching for works, etc,etc.......Am I meddler? :p

Anyway, I think this book will stimulate our curiosity.

I may be preaching to the choir here but if anyone is looking to expand their FPW collection, Ebay is the place to be at the moment. Over the last couple of weeks I've managed to collect 7 hardbacks in very good nick, £8 being the most I paid for any one of them. Having spent up to £25 for a second hand copy in London in the past, i'm fairly pleased with myself.

Have a look see. Be aware though, that if you're in the Uk and bidding for books located in the states, the shipping will invariably be $20-35; practically 2-3 times what you will pay for the book...How bad do you want it? Hmmmm?
