Yeah. Didn't have a single "but" or "despite." Can't believe it. I'd reprint it here but my scanner's cranky and I've exceeded my patience quota for the day.

The Exorcist: The Beginning

I admit that I have very little interest in this movie, mainly because it is a prequel to a near perfect movie. But lets see - it went from "an internalized piece of psychological (as opposed to visceral) horror. It’s also, not incidentally, an epistemological study of faith, set against a world that gives even the righteous many reasons to question their beliefs" to "a shitty imitation of The Mummy, ... an entertaining, if altogether more conventional, affair." Leave it to Hollywood to f@&# up a perfectly good idea.

Saw MC yesterday with the galfriend. I'm a big fan of the first movie with Lawrence Harvey and enjoyed comparing the two movies as I watched Densel Washington unsuspectingly rush toward his "fate." This new version is actually more horror/sci-fi than the first, which is more political/paranoid thriller. Anyway, I recommend this movie from start to finish. My gal says she was disappointed with the ending. I think Demme was right on target with ending. It didn't have to be spelled out for me. I'm not as dumb as I look. No one could be. I got the point. One more note: See if you can catch the reference to EZ Rawlings. It seems I'm the only one who caught it; so that might mean it wasn't really there and I just dreamed about it. Hmmm. No, it was there. Look for it.

What with Alien vs. Predator being touted as AVP and Terminator Two shorted to T2, will Repairman Jack be advertised as RJ, or some such initialling? I'd prefer to see the full Repairman Jack title used, and after it becomes a successful franchise, then they can call the series RJ: All The Rage, RJ: The Haunted Air, etc.

Just my two cents.

Well... for action it was pretty good. More fast paced than most of the other movies were... yet, on the same token, I got the impression that someone woke up at 4am, cobbled together random bits of information and delivered it 4 hours later. Then a producer with too little sleep yawned, scratched himself, and said "Looks good enough" then went back to sleep.

With that said, I like'd how they filled in some blanks that previous movies left behind. If you want to see a movie that shows how it all began... even though they didn't plan on it originally, then go watch it. It's worth it in that respect.

I'm a huge fan of Nip/Tuck, it's hands-down my favorite show right now. I have a couple questions for other fans of the show. I watch it with my husband and he thinks with all the tension between Sean, Christian and Julia that they're getting ready to end the show. Has anyone heard that or anything about the future of it. I really hope he's wrong because there is not much worth watching on TV and I'll be upset if it goes off the air. Anyway, if anyone has thoughts on the show or info on it's future, please share!

Can you forget your son or daughter? This is weird suspense. I saw this trailer, and I want to see it. Release in U.S. is September 24. I highly recommend it.
