This movie was great. I can't recall a movie where Tom Cruise is the antagonist, but he plays one well here. Collateral is more about Jamie Foxx's character, Max, than Tom Cruise's Vincent, but Foxx holds his own well. Max is a neat-freak cab driver with aspirations of owning his own limousine company and Vincent is a hitman on a timetable. There's a reason why he takes a cab rather than renting a car that I won't give away but the core story is told in the moments when Vincent is in the back seat.

This is an incredible review by Ebert. I thought this movie sounded somewhat interesting, but now I feel compelled to see it.

Today, I bought The Hunger DVD.

I'm not sure how many people know about it, this DVD include three short stories. The Sword, Necros by Brian Lumley, and Menage A Trois by F.Paul Wilson. I'm not reading a original short story yet. Anyway, I bought it, I came back to home, and I saw it.

a little spolier

Yeah, this is pretty good short story. The characters are three people, and the majority of the stories advances in the interior. The employer who cannot move in the fatal disease. This is supernatural story that satisfies the self desire. Love affair of the nurse that lives in and the employee. By and by, attitude of the nurse changing little by little. The climax is... like a catastrophe. Finally becomes aware in the mechanism of this story.

Director, Jake Scott is son of Ridley Scott. He is music video director. So in this drama, he effectively used sound and music. For example, large clock sound, song of He's a jolly good fellow...

And.....I have a one question. Who(what) is that woman employer? Demon? Witch? ....or Alien?

By the way, Menage A Trois is....This Japanese title is Sankaku Kankei.

A rather twisted joke I thought of after reading The Tomb, while I was mucking around with some rakosh pictures I was drawing. Plus it was late at night.

The background is, as usual, chopped up, heavily edited photos from other people's websites. Probably personal photo albums. This one is from Central Park; it used to be set in the middle of the day with a bunch of people walking around, but I took out the people, radically distorted the perspective, and added the rakoshi and dead wino over top.

People sicker than me will be delighted to know this is just the right size for a wallpaper. I prefer the "It's coming" paper myself, but if you want to scare your friends and family, feel free to stick this on your desktop.

Copyright FPW and me for the actual drawlings. (I know the rakoshi probably weren't this messy, but it was graphically cooler to add all the blood in. Heh).

Im just curious if anyone else has seen this movie? I watched it this afternoon and really enjoyed it. It had an ending that I wasn't expecting but not exactly suprising if you really pay attention to the movie.

I'm curious about the Jesuit philosophy. I know FPW credits the Jesuits for making him question everything and I recently read another author thank the Jesuits in their acknowledgements for making him think, so I figure there has got to be some worthwhile underpinnings to their modes of instruction. Are there some seminal works I should examine or where is a good 'jumping-off' point to begin looking? Any info is appreciated. Perhaps it is beneficial to state that I currently know absolutely nothing about the Jesuits.

I believe it was FPW who recommended CSI: MIAMI for the laugh factor. Just wanted to let you know that Hollis and I have been "enjoying" this show the past few weeks. You know it's bad when an eight year old starts laughing at the bone-headed dialog and stoopid "flashback" effects. It might help if anyone on the show could act. Someone needs to put David Caruso, the old guy who is head of police, and that blonde chick out of their respective miseries.

I gotta say, though, that Adam Rodriguez (sorry, don't remember the character name) is totally adorable. Big Grin

Anyway, thanks Paul for the tip!
