Has anyone on the board seen this? I was quite surprised. It starts off fresh and witty with some humor and clever scenes but turns the way of cliche at the end. Overall it was a fun ride and I would be curious to see what others who have seen it thought.

I know this movie has come up in a couple of different places and I couldn't find either one of 'em; hence the new thread.

I liked it, but feel it is being horribly mis-marketed as a comedy. It is definitely a drama with a few humorous moments sprinkled in. I actually found it to be depressing and it was full of moments that illustrate why I hate being lumped in as 'one of the guys.'

The reasons why I think it is worth seeing are great writing and superb acting. Everyone delivers excellent performances in one of the smarter scripts in awhile.

Maggers, just what was the funny scene that had you in stitches? The ostrich scene is the only one I can recall that would induce that kind of laughter.

The last 2 original episodes of any Star Trek presence on TV will air this Friday on the UPN as back to back episodes starting at 8:00 Eastern time. Set upyour recorders!

The series runs short of it's original projected run.

It was that damn theme song!!

Appleseed is one of the better sci-fi action flicks I've watched recently. It combines anime and CGI which results in one cool looking movie.
The story doesn't break any new ground, but several spectacular action sequences make this a must-see for fans of futuristic fighting. I give it a high recommendation.

It kind of reminded me of Avalon, but better.

I saw The Life Aquatic in theater, today.

As I enjoyed The Royal Tenenbaums, I like this movie. It was very funny and lovely movie. Bill Murray, Owen Wilson, Angelica Huston, those two actors and one actress were in "The Royal Tenenbaums". Plus Cate Blanchett, Willem Dafoe(He is funny guy!), Jeff Goldblum.....what a nice casting!

This movie had serious drama, some funny scenes, some fantastic creatures(I LIKE Crayon Ponyfish!). And especially, main theme of "father and son" was very touching. But, one of most important things was it has originality.

And, I can't forget David Bowie's songs by guitarist. But....what was that language? I guessed those songs were not English.

I think of "Masque" in a timeline about 2 to 300 years after "Nightworld" and "The Lanauge Chronicles a couple thousand after "Nightworld". I like to try and tie all FPW's books together (I know I have a problem but where can I go to get it fixed?). And since the epic battle (between The Alley and The Otherness) is taking place everywhere, we should see some more sci-fi in the LaNague era that shows some of that influence. Does anyone else do this? I'm not second guessing "The Man", I just find my mind wanders to some things that could be. Maybe it's just me.

And will FPW ever do a sequel to "Masque"? It's a great story left wide open for a sequal. I'm just curious.

I watched the 1965 version and 2004 versions on back-to-back nights.

I can't understand why it was remade. Except for adding a woman and shifting the moral center from the copilot to the passenger Liddle, it was exactly the same script.

And not as well acted or directed. The James Stewart - Richard Attenborough dynamic is lost in the new version.

I don't get it. But then there's a whole lot of things about Hollywood I don't get.
