Hi everyone.

A couple of friends of mine have been talking about a series of books and a character they follow called Repairman Jack. I finally got my head outta my fourth point of contact to see what all the hub-bub was about, and man am I glad I did. Big Grin

I'm just starting ALL THE RAGE today, and I have already finished THE TOMB, LEGACIES, and CONSPIRACIES.

I love the twist of the fantastic in Paul's, (does F. Paul go by "Paul" for short?), books. Once I finish the series of outright RJ novels, I'm then going to tackle the ADVERSARY CYCLE and complete it.

A little bit about myself, I'm a struggleing comicbook writer. I've self published a couple of comics, and I've had a few comic short stories published in a few anthology comics. My latest story will be in an anthology comic called WESTERN TALES OF TERROR #4 which should be out sometime June.

At any rate, I'm a huge F. Paul Wilson and RJ fan now, and I'm glad I found this site to join other fans like myself.

Big Grin

Every once in a while I remember to check the news here and I must admit I am psyched with IDW's plan to adapt your material for Doomed. Any idea when we can expect to see an issue? And how is The Keep coming along, if you're allowed to divulge any info?

Paul,

Today's your birthday! Hope it's great fun.

I know I speak for the boardwalkers in saying thanks for being so gracious with your time and hanging out with your fans. You're a special man who acts like a regular guy. Humble, funny, and brilliant.

What more could you ask for? Nothing, I tell you!

Have a terrific day!

Your most humble Queen Susan

Saw "Unleashed" last night with the galfriend (it was the only movie we could agree on actually). There was a great movie in there somewhere. Some better editing may have helped. But overall, we liked it. The drama (considering the movie has Bob Hoskins and Morgan Freedman) was exceptional, but those damn fight scenes kept interrupting a finely paced story. Jet Li even had a chance to shine as an actor, but then those damn fight scenes kept intruding. A climactic fight scene--now, that I could see, but superfluous fight scenes, and long ones at that, were really unnecessary as the audience was eating up the nonfight Jet Li scenes. I recommend it for the acting and story, but this is definitely not a DVD keeper.

I still haven't read this, but I have just bought 2 books when I probably shouldn't have, so I have to pass on this one.

With the wife and daughter out of town, my son and I had a 'guys' movie weekend. We watched Raiders, The Last Crusade, Cloak and Dagger, and First Strike.

Caleb is now an official Indy addict. It was a lot of fun to see him so enthused about ROTLA. What was particularly cool was the way he appreciated the humor of scenes like Indy shooting the expert swordsman and the nunchuck? coat-hanger. But my favorite to come of the whole thing was when he commented on his pizza, "Hey dad, this cheese kinda looks like Tope's face when they opened the Ark." Priceless. What a great movie.

"Braveheart" was great. "The Gladiator" was excellent. "TLOTR;trilogy" were perfect. "Troy" was not bad. "King Arthur" was bad(especially Clive Owen). "Alamo" was terrible. "Alexander" was......

Today, I saw Kingdom of Heaven in theater.

So, at first, I worried about "Kingdom of heaven". But I believed Ridley Scott. All his movies were success. That's right. He did it again! Like a Gladiator, I felt warrior's soul in this movie. It has worth to see.

By the way, did you recognize Edward Norton in this movie? I didn't. How could I know?! When I saw end credit, then I realized he was in it. :o :p

I'm curious as to which of Dr. Wilson's books you would reccomend besides those enclosed in the Adversary Cycle and Repairman Jack world. I have heard that Black Wind is good as well as The Select. I'm clueless to his other works. I'm ashamed to admit I don't even know what the "LaNague" (sp?) books are about.....

Just wondering what of FPW's other works you would reccomend checking out..

Thanks,

DrJonLJ

The distinction has to go to Tarnation. I watched it last night and am still reeling from its raw, poignant look at a family torn apart by mental illness. At the center of the film is Johnny who had the misfortune of being born to a woman who had neither the means nor mentality to raise a child. At the age of 9 or 10, Johnny began filming his life and it isn't pretty.

Tarnation was apparently made for the cost of a movie-making computer program(less than $300), but it shows that sometimes less is more. This film is most certainly not for everybody, but if you've ever asked yourself how can somebody become so screwed up?, then this is worth a look.
