Didja know that there are two versions of the Kingdom of Heaven movie trailer? Yep, there's the one with the classical/choir music in the background, and then there's the one with the Speed Metal music in the background. I'm pretty sure that the true movie soundtrack is the classical version, but that Metal version sure gives one pause....

I've always liked the Repairman Jack character and have read all the novels but number 7, but never really got into the supernatural aspect very much because I just couldn't "suspend disbelief" quite that far.

I just liked the character. Repairman Jack. If there is a problem, he'll fix it. He'll take care of the bad guys.

Anyway, I just finished CrissCross and felt it was the best of the bunch. It was very quick reading and when it started getting into the "hocus-pocus" aspects, it didn't lose its way and have unbelievable supernatural events like....(edited out)...

Jack was mostly just Repairman Jack. So I liked it best.

I know we all have a few, but the one stuck in my craw right now is women who boldly barge into the men's room to have it out with whatever jerk. Is this somehow supposed to be empowering catching a man in a vulnerable situation? I thought it was just illegal. If a man did that in a movie or TV we'd think of him as perverse. Anybody else have some?

hi,
I'm a new member so hopefully I'm not asking something too stupid.
Reading the FAQ I came across the below section on future works.

INFERNAL (novel) (Repairman Jack)
Gauntlet Press (signed limited first edition: 450 + 52) (July 2005)
Forge – (trade hc: 11/05)

Does this mean the newest Repairman Jack novel will be out in July or
will I have to wait until Nov??

F. Paul Wilson was the Guest of Honor at the 1990 World Fantasy Convention. His featured presentation was an hour-long interview session hosted by Joe Lansdale. With their permission, I taped the session so I could transcribe it for an issue of Lights Out!, but the newsletter ended, and it was never run. I recently found the tape and have created an MP3 file that you can download and listen to. This is presented with Paul's permission.

F. Paul Wilson and Joe Lansdale, WFC '90 audio

The file is 26MB, so it'll take a while to download, but it's worth it.

Enjoy!

I am reading the tomb for the third time and I am wondering if R.J. was in any short stories or novels of FPW. There are some references to som "fix it" jobs he did before the tomb. Nowhere can I find what Jack did for Julio's sister that made Jack and Julio such good friends. If anybody has any information let me know please. Wink

This question is primarily for F. Paul Wilson, but other doctors and patients may post as well.

What's your take on the current medical TV shows? Grey's Anatomy? House? Scrubs? etc. Do they ring true? Do you avoid them altogether? Or do you just like them for their entertainment value without giving them a medical thought whatsoever?

I'm partial to House. It has a very antagonistic protagonist.

Saw Kung Fu Hustle last night with the galfriend. She wanted to see The Interpreter, but I won the coin flip. And glad I did. I haven't laughed so hard since I saw Airplane as a kid. KFH has the right blend of satire, action flick, and homage to the very thing it makes fun of: Kung Fu flicks. Throw in some spaghetti western spoofs, a pinch of The Roadrunner cartoons, and you've got KFH. I'll be seeing it again tomorrow. I laughed so hard that I missed many of the jokes. Now I've got to find Shaolin Soccer. Oh, and the galfriend sorta/kinda liked it too.

On another note: Wasn't there a KFH thread already? This is the second time I've searched for a thread that is no longer there.

For those of you still in search of the Gauntlet signed limited of The Haunted Air, there's a no reserve auction on eBay right now! It's a 7 day auction ending Sunday May 1.

Here's the link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...:B:SS:US:1

Good luck! I hope somebody from this board wins the auction.
