I said it before and now that I'm watching Season 2, I'll say it again: Arrested Development may be the funniest show to ever grace the small screen. If you haven't yet caught it, I recommend rushing out to the store or putting it in your internet que(SP) immediately. Unless, of course, you prefer The Apprentice to brilliant writing, smart acting, and quirky humor.

The "Afternoon Delight" episode had me crying.

"11/23 – I finally signed the contract for the “Pelts” adaptation by
MoH. (Man, they want everything short of your soul.)"

Damn! I was going to cancel my subscription to Showtime. I guess they'll keep getting my $11 a month until this one airs.

I have been a fan for many years.
Have read all the Adversary/Jack books, several of the others and two of the short story collections.
Is there a complete bibliography of his books available so that I can see
which I have missed over the years?

Thanks,
Steve

Spoiler in Hosts

I just re-read "Hosts", and I noticed one thing. Sandy Palmer(sp?) made Jack's montage pictures in his newspaper office, and he used "Identity Kit 2000". After he made Jack's montage, he didn't delete the file and saved it as GPM. So, as a result....I think Jack's montage picture was left in a office's PC. I'm sure this is Jack's identity. I think someday someone find this file, and someone try to search Jack.

I think this is BIG problem for Jack.

I'm reasonably certain I saw a bare boob on SNL's Girls Gone Wild: Katrina skit.

I might get crucified for this, but what the heck. It's how I feel.

Abe is my age. I have a great many Jewish friends who are his age. My ex-husband, who is Jewish, is his age. I live and work with many, many Jewish men who are Abe's age. Not of one of them speaks like Abe.

My problem with Abe is this: he does not sound like a single, solitary Jewish person of my age. If he were 20 or 30 years older, his Yiddishisms would be more appropriate. From what I understand, Abe was born and raised in New York. As he is written, I think Abe is an anachronism, more of a caricature than a true character. Abe is the sole character in the RJ series who does not ring 100% true for me.

Every Jew I know uses Yiddishisms here and there. I do, too, as do many New Yorkers, Jewish or not. But no one I know who is his age speaks like Abe. Older New Yorkers do; some of the older parents or grandparents of my Jewish friends may sound like Abe.

I love Abe's heart and the man that he is. I love how he fits into Jack's life. But Abe is not real for me.

I've turned a few Jewish friends on to the RJ series. They like the books, but to a person, they are uncomfortable with Abe and find the way he is written to be a detraction from the series.

I finished reading Infernal last week, and with a week to chew on it, I finally found out what was different about it than the other RJ books. I think Infernal marks a focus shift for FPW in Jack's life. In the first few, his fixes played a prominent part, with the war against the Otherness spinning off of those. In the next few, the balance started shifting towards fighting the Otherness. In Infernal, there is a fix done, but thats really there to just remind us of who Jack is. I think that from here on out, we'll be seeing Jack in a battle to save the few people left in his life who matter, with very few references to his fixes. What do you think?
P.S. Sorry that my writing is disjointed...I haven't written anything in about 2 years Smile

I am continually growing my FPW collection. I usually read the books as I aquire them, in no special order. Ive got the order of the RJ and Advisary. Are the rest of the books just in any order or is there a better flow if read in a certain order?
