The webmaster thread made me realize I hadn't read the NEWS in awhile, so I did. Two items (well three if you count the 'no new fiction' in two months-what are we fans supposed to do?) jump out: the graphic novel with you and Monteleone and the possibility of a YA series featuring a youthful Jack.

I would certainly like to know more about your collaboration with TM, but I suppose you have to wait until deals are more solidified.

As a reader of much YA fiction I would say that you wouldn't need to tone down the violence all that much, I've read some pretty graphic material under the YA umbrella and it is getting edgier all the time. Besides I get the impression young Jack didn't fully develop All His Rage until after his mother's death and that his fixes were more of the Mr. Canelli variety up to that point.

Lately, in a trend I like, I'm noticing more authors turning their efforts towards the YA market(possibly as a result of Harry Potter). I currently have YA books penned by Andy McNabb, Matt Reilly, and James Patterson at home and have read others written by Christopher Golden, Dave Barry, and Ridley Pearson. I think your talents are geared for the YA crowd, where the emphasis is on brisk pacing-plus I've personally had great success with your short stories with the teen crowd.

I've read the series two times, and I don't read anything more than once. I have a phonographic memory. Not quite photographic, but darn good. Most books I remember every detail, and Repairman Jack books are no exception. The difference is I like them so much, I can read them multiple times and still be entertained

I've started to read just my favorite parts out of the series, but I decided to read the last three in their entirety to prepair for the next one.

As a result, I've developed a small personal kinship with Jack. My wife is pregnant with our first, and whenever Jack is feeling fatherly, I feel like we're partners in this dad thing.

I've always found traits in Jack that I hope are true in me. This is just one more, but I'm pretty excited about this baby and it gives me that little rush when I read F. Paul's stories about Jack.

Gauntlet are giving Harbingers ARC away for free with an order worth $125 or more - apparently only to email list members but I'm sure Barry won't turn away an orderBig Grin . I bought the lettered Hosts for $150 and got my copy today. I'm 60 pages in and it's a beauty!!!

I never had the opportunity to see Capote in the theatre, because no theatres were open here when it was playing because of Katrina. I got the DVD yesterday and I'm still reeling from watching it.

I don't live in a box, so I was well aware of the hoopla regarding Philip Seymour Hoffman's performance in this film and I knew that he took home an Oscar for it. But that did not prepare me for how devastatingly emotional his performance was. I don't recall the last time I felt an actor deserved an Oscar as much as Hoffman deserved this one. Just....wow.

Damn HGTV; it all looks so easy up there on the small screen. Our bathroom has needed a facelift for awhile and it now is almost completed, only the tiling of the floor remains. For the past two weekends I have been dedicated to getting rid of the old and putting up the new. Gone is the carpet(who carpets their bathroom?we inherited it), shower doors, towel rods, garish light fixture and sad paint job. Although nothing, except the painting, went as easily as it could have, I am impressed with the results. I added crown, chair, and baseboard molding. I put up wainscotting, new towel and toilet paper holders, a funky new light, and we hung two custom-framed pictures. I can now take a dump in the elegance such an act deserves.

And we did it on a dime, thus far the project has cost less than $175.

I saw "Thank You for Smoking" and enjoyed it tremendously. It's hysterical and a must see. It's actually a paean to the thrill of debate. It's also a send up of big business, big government, agendas and on and on. Loved it!

All you guys on the board who love to get into it on the political threads, sharing your points of view in the hopes of moving someone off their position, go see this movie. I think you'll enjoy it immensely.

I'm a big fan of Aaron Eckhart and he is WONDERFUL in this. Even his great good looks are sent up along with everything else.

It's good fun, an itelligent laugh out loud movie.

I know i asked about the order of the RJ books but my main question really is, does it take anything away from the series if you read them out of order. i have ordered The Tomb from amazon and it is on back order. as i wait impatiently for it to arrive i have two other RJ novles sitting by the ready. What would you guys advise: wait for The Tomb or go ahead with what i do have?

Just now I saw "The Addiction". Abel Ferrara + Christopher Walken + Vampire...this is really cool movie. It's a black and white film, so blood looked like tar. One night, college student Kathleen was bitten by strange woman on street. After that, she became vampire. Then she began assault to people every night. Another night, she tried assault to strange man, Peina(Walken). But somehow he knew she's vampire. Because....

This is not typical vampire movie. Some scenes were beautiful. But on the other hand, party scene freaked me out. Lili Taylor's crazed acting was awesome.

I don't want any top ten lists or anything. I just want to know what your all time favorite movie is.

I know it's hard... but pick one!

Mine is Raiders Of the lost Ark. It pretty much has everything I want in a movie. I always wished for that kind of adventure...
