Has anyone seen "Vengeance Unlimited"?

I just checked The Mystery Channel official site(Japanese cable channel), and I found "Vengeance Unlimited" begins from April 17. I've never seen this show, so I checked detail. Michael Madsen as Mr.Chapel, his character reminded me of Repairman Jack.

From Plot Summary; Mr. Chapel is a man without a past. His M.O. is to send people who have been wronged by the system, or by criminals, clippings of other people he has helped out. He then offers them help in return for either 1 million dollars or a future favor they're to do him. Chapel then sets out to bring justice to the criminals, using elaborately plotted scams and some subtle violence as necessary.

Nearly user's comments are favorable criticism. It looks very good show. I'm looking forward to it. Has anyone seen "Vengeance Unlimited"? If you saw it, tell me your thoughts.

I don't watch much television but have got really into Invasion. I'm suprised no-one has mentioned it yet, did it bomb in America?

What I really want know (no spoilers please!) is if there is, or going to be, a second series? We have about 6 episodes to go and still a lot of very loose ends that show no signs of tying themselves up.

For myself it's not great TV but somehow it just makes me want to see what happens next, is the Sherrif good guy or bad guy, are the creatures aliens or not, does the government condone what is happening, is it a bad thing anyway? You know, the usual stuff....

Today I went to a theatre see "Firewall". I can say "Our Harrison Ford is BACK!" Yes, this is Harrison Ford who we know. But in this movie, he's not super hero like Indiana Jones or Han Solo. He's husband/father. Just a normal guy.

Jack(Ford) is computer security's specialist. One day, criminal group assaulted his family. They captured his family, and they demanded bank's money. Jack tried to save his family, but........

Thrill and suspense, action and violence, and family's ties, those factors were perfectly mixed. I saw the climax almost breathlessly!

Funny things, in this movie, Mary Lynn Rajskub played Jack's secretary. Mary played Chloe in "24". So, when she say "Jack", it reminded me of "24". Big Grin

Does anyone have it? Has anyone been taping this on DVD or VHS? We started watching it the bomb epsiode and got hooked so we bought the 1st season on DVD. We just finished it. Now we have most of the 2nd season that we have to catch up on. That probably won't come out on DVD until well into the 3rd season. Did anyone tape it? I can send some blank DVD's or VHS to you to copy if you got it!

Well, I finally got around to the first of the last three books of the Adversary Cycle: Reborn. Finished reading it last night. I was reading the first edition. Maybe I missed it or maybe I read it and forgot it already or maybe this detail is to be revealed later in the cycle (when it will be of importance) or maybe it's not important or maybe its in the revised text. But I gotta ask: Do we know how Carol Stevens' parents' died? FPW says he can't recall.

The Hong Kong police are on a stakeout to catch a gang of thieves. The bust goes bad and a major gun fight unsues. During the fight the media broadcasts a cop surrendering and the gang eventually gets away. The public is in an uproar over the cowardice and inability of the police. The thieves are finally found in an apartment complex and the police decide to put on a show for the public in order to win them back. The media is let in but the police control the footage and audio, but the thieves are not the only gang in the complex and they know how to manipulate the media as well.

This movie has it's problems but it's still pretty darn good. Definitely worth renting. I used the subtitles and found myself rewinding often due to the fast dialogue/quick changing subs. I'm not a speed reader. Rolleyes I'd like to hear Kenji's review on this movie.

Dan Curtis passed away on Mar 27. 2006. I would run home after school every day when I was in junior high, not wanting to miss the day's installment.

For those of you too young to have missed out on this, Dark Shadows[I] was a gothhic soap opera incorporating all the classics: Frankenstein, Dracula, Dr. Jeckyll & Mr. Hyde, Jayne Eyre, Wuthering Heights, The Werewolf, The Turn of the Screw and even The Cthulhu Mythos. DS also was the first television show to introduce and explore alternate universes, years before Star Trek and others.

There was also a side story where Barnabas Collins (the vampire) was captured and held prisoner by a previously unsuccessful author, tapping (interviewing) him for ideas for his books. Sounds familiar....

Mr. Curtis produced the 2 Kolchak movies, but not directly involved with the short-lived series [I]The Night Stalker

As I was packing up my Sandman comics to loan to another unsuspecting victim, I noticed that that the intro for Preludes and Nocturnes was written by FPW, a fact I had forgotten. In it, he has a passage about the effects of good horror:

Anybody can splatter you with blood and other precious bodily fluids. But they wash off, don't they? Just like mud. Just like spilled food and drink. Wash right off your skin without leaving a trace of their passing. Not the good stuff, though. Good horror gets past the skin. It seeps through and insinuates its way into the tissues, invades the circulation, spreads to all the vital organs, contaminates the nervous system, taking up residence behind the eyes so that nothing looks quite the same again, ever.
