Today, afternoon, I'm going to a theatre see "Live Free or Die Hard" (aka: "DIE HARD 4.0). Check this.

I guess some people(well, almost everybody) haven't interest to this sequel. But I was waiting for this one for a long time. "DIE HARD 3" wasn't good(at least, for me). I hope this "4.0" is better than "3".

I decided to take the initiative and start this thread. I hope enough people have read it by now, but just in case, I'll make sure to include a spoiler space.

**SPOILERS**

That should be enough. Anyway...

So what did everyone think about these new developments? Jonah Stevens sure got around and the oDNA was very intriguing. If people like Jonah and even Jack are loaded with this oDNA then does this mean they're descendant from beings from the Otherness? Furthermore, from what side of the family could Jack have gotten all his oDNA from? His father's or his mother's, or maybe both? Jack has always possessed a pocket of darkness inside him that tends to cloud the sides of his vision whenever he truly gets angry, and now I guess we know why.

Question: Is all oDNA a product of the Otherness, or could some also be a product of the Ally? If that's the case, then could there be a slim possibility that Jack could be a descendant of Glaeken or maybe even Rasalom? That's probably presumptuous, but it's definitely something to think about.

All in all, this was another fantastic plot and story. I especially loved the tension created by the fact that Jack has yet to tell Gia that the "accident" that almost took her and Vicky's life, and killed her unborn child, was no accident. I can't imagine how she'll react when she finally finds out.

Finally, I presume that the old man that's been spying on Jack is Glaeken?

Anyway, with all the loose ends from this book waiting to be tied up, the next book ought to be a real milestone.

Think Hostel in reverse. Instead of male victims, female victims; instead of seeing the story through the victims' eyes, story through the torturers' view, etc. Still think Cabin Fever is Roth's best.

Inspired by the very interesting The Keep FPS Game thread (which I can't find so am unfortunately unable to provide a link Sad ) I thought it would be fun and wuite interesting to show you the development process that went into my latest illustration of a Rakosh, rather than just posting it.

If you didnt see me previous effort, it's here. It was quickly sketched in front of the TV and crudely painted, but it revealed the most obvious weakness in my representation of a Rakosh; the head.

Described in the books quite clearly as being shark-like, I struggled to draw it this way without it looking like a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle so I quickly cheated it into a more conventional Venom-esque design. So it was the head that intimidated me the most when tackling a proper illustration of a Rakosh. . .

My son and I have been watching 'guy' flicks after the girls go off to bed on the weekends and I thought he was ready for The Thing; was I ever wrong. While he managed to watch the entire movie without any apparent duress, he woke up shuddering about every half hour during the rest of the night. At least it will be remembered. What a great flick, it is one of the few that I can watch repeatedly.

Just now I saw "Soldaat van Oranje" on DVD. It was brilliant! It's Paul Verhoeven's WW II movie like "Zwartboek".

In 1938, Erik, Guus, Alex, Nico, Jan, Rob and Jacgues go together in university and become the friends. When Nazis occupy The Netherlands, the friends have different lives...

Basically, we are apt to talk about weapons or bombing scenes in war movies. But this "Soldaat van Oranje" is about activities of resistance. First, they were friend. But someone become a soldier. Someone become a betrayer. Someone become an enemy. Through 148 min, everybody's lives change because of war.

Thrilling and suspense! And, an most excellent factor is Rutgar Hauer. I think this is his best movie ever except for "Hitcher"! If you're Rutgar Hauer fan, don't pass over this movie!

Please don't ask me why, but for some inexplicable reason
I am watching "Americas Got Talent" on NBC right now.

And I have just one question...has Chuck Barris started
legal proceedings yet?

Hi all. Been a while since I've posted.

Anyhow, I'm sorry if this is asked somewhere else but I don't want to run into any spoilers for Bloodlines as I am just starting it.

Is Walter Erskine the homeless guy that passes the "touch" on to Alan in The Touch? I know I've heard the name somewhere (or maybe I'm just going crazy as I become more in touch with the Otherness).

BTW FPW, thanks for depressing me all over again in the first few pages of Bloodline. I was just getting over the loss of Emma. Only the best authors are capable of making their fans care that much for who they are writing about.

I came home from work to find my copy of "Bloodline" (#252) in the mail box. Guess what I will be doing the rest of the evening?
