This is a trivial thing, but I just wondered about one thing.

SPOILER ABOUT REPRISAL and BLOODLINE

In Bloodline, Jeremy said Jonah suddenly lost contact with Jeremy and Hank. That meaning, Jonah died in Reprisal, right? But at that time, Jonah was always taking care of Jimmy. I don't think he had spare times for Hank and Jeremy.

So, when has he met Jeremy and Hank?

Yes, I just checked it out. What can I say? It's a slow week at the movies...

And the non-spoiler wrap-up? It wasn't terrible.

Admitted highlights are the always lovely Michelle Pfeiffer's
witch, Lamia, hellbent on regaining immortality, and Robert
De Niro's sky pirate, Captain Shakespeare, who strays so far
from center with this eccentric performance that you'll be
as delighted as you are horrified.

Ultimately, the movie is hit or miss with the humor, and
just leaps around too much to ever have a strong coherent
storyline.

On my blog I give it THREE out of five cans of Diet Cherry
Vanilla Dr. Pepper.

I finished watching Carnavale Season 2 a few weeks ago. Disappointed with the finale, but hear there may be a 2-hour movie to give closure to the series.

Last week, I finished watching Deadwood Season 3. Disappointed with the finale, but hear there may be 2 2-hour movies to give closure to the series.

This week I started watching 4400 Season 1...then, bam! Hey, I could be watching MoH's Pelts. So, I deleted the 4400 series from my queue and put on fpw's Pelts, as well as several other MoH titles. Looking forward to Pelts, Deer Woman, and The Fair Haired Child.

I'll get back to 4400 later.

Also, passed on The Sopranos and The Shield. Deadwood really took the steam out of my desire to see complete seasons of a series when they end so anticlimatically. Sad

AC

P.S. Also queued a few hard-to-find Miike flicks.

I'm having a 50's sci-fi/horror week with my son this week. We watched THEM yesterday and just finished The Thing From Another World. We'll finish it off with The Creature From The Black Lagoon later this week. It has been many years sinced I viewed either of the first two and of them, THEM was easily my favorite; it still holds up well. Perhaps The Thing From Another World suffered from me just having seen John Carpenter's remake(one of my favorite movies), but it just didn't quite hold my interest where I was into THEM throughout. I'm curious about what my reaction to The Creature From The Black Lagoon will be, as I recall it being my favorite monster movie from my childhood, but like the other two, I haven't watched it in years.

Caleb liked them both.

Don't worry, no spoilers here.

And the final report?

It rocks!

On my blog I give it my very first FIVE out of five
cans of Diet Cherry Vanilla Dr. Pepper.

Nuff said.

I thought that if ever a remake of "THE TEN COMMANDMENTS"should be done it should star Dennis Miller as Moses and directed by John Waters. I can just see Miller going up to the Pharoh and saying..." I don't mean to go off on a rant..."
His radio show, his appearance on O'reilly every wed. night and of course that
"I know I'm not an actor but they wanted me in this movie" attitude he gives on the big screen makes him #1 in my book.
Anyone hear (besides Paul) the infamous "smoking" episode of DENNIS MILLER LIVE with Norm McDonald?

I took the phews to the Simpsons over the weekend. So far (in my opinion) its the only film this summer to deliver the goods. The laughs slow down for a bit after the first half hour but by that time we needed a break from the hilarity. For pure nonstop laughter I'd rate it second only to The Naked Gun. The kids are already trying to suck me in to taking them again. Maybe Thursday.

I meant to ask this to FPW, yet not once in the three days of us being together at Necon did I think of it - not even when he was signing the first page of "The Barrens" out of Cthulhu 2000.

Upon re-reading "The Barrens," I was astonished to notice the name Creighton pop up (as the surname of one of the main characters, who I might add was apparently a psychology student at one point...). And of course, anyone who has read Bloodline knows of the Creighton Institute.

So, there being "no more coincidences" in the worlds of the Otherness, does this mean something? Or is it more like Stephen King setting his story "Jerusalem's Lot" in the same town as 'salem's Lot, yet neither work really reflects upon the other in any other way?
