1500 inmates of a Korean prison doing a performance of Michael Jackson's Thriller.

This has got to be the weirdest thing I've seen all week, and I dread to think what they did with the 'love interest' at the end of the day! :p

Beowulf! I've been waiting for this one! 1999 version was terrible, but this one is great! Directed by Robert Zemeckis, screenplay by Neil Gaiman &
Roger Avary.......oh, man! I can't wait! Big Grin

I envy you, people in US & UK. You can see it in November, but I have to wait until next March!

Just heard from Borderlands that they were moving stock and found 15 copies of THE LITTLE BEIGE BOOK...

They're giving rj.com Forum folks first crack at the original cover price of $20. It won't be on their website, so call them at 800-528-3310. You snooze, you lose.

Even if you have a copy, it's a good investment

I don't know if anyone has seen this but it just came out on DVD Tuesday. We LOVED it. It's kind of like a reverse fairy-tale (you'd have to watch to understand what I mean without any spoilers). I'm too tired to really give a review, but I will say this: Jean-Baptiste Grenouille will captivate you as much as Hannibal Lecter did.

I find it an interesting phenomenon...a sci-fi, fantasy,
and/or Horror Writer's Book Series

Though he is famous for his dozens of published novels, and over
100 published short stories, the late Roger Zelazny will probably
be most remembered for his "Amber series."

The same goes for the late Fred Saberhagen, now most
remembered for his Swords, and Lost Swords, series, seconded
by his Berserker Books, thirded by his Dracula Books,
and next by his Gods Books...

The still-living Philip Jose Farmer, best known for his
Riverworld Series, followed by his Dayworld Series,
followed by his World of Tiers series (which started
out brilliantly, but dragged over WAY too many years
between books and so creatively fizzled right out
with the creation and publication of the last two books
which were obviously only written to wrap things up, or
complete some publisher contract requirement)...and
let's not forget that Farmer also had a Father Carmody
short stories series, oh, and Farmer's Tarzan/Doc Savage
tribute two-book series of Lord Grandrith/Doc Caliban
tales...

Just as Paul will be remembered for his Repairman Jack
series of books, seconded by the six-book umbrella-series
known as The Adversary Cycle, followed up by the
LaNague Universe of short stories and books...

Or wil Paul start up some other series after the
Repairman Jack (and young Repairman Jack) books?

Maybe a spinoff series from Black Wind? White Wind. Brown
Wind. Red Wind. Green Wind...set it from 1945-2000,
and have it be about the half-japanese, half-american,
child born at the end of Black Wind...who grows up to
be an adventurer, and teams up with some operatives
from The Twins "Alternate's" organization, and fight
evil from 1965-2000, paralleling real-life historical
events that occurred during that time...

Whoa! Sorry. Slipped into fantasy daydreaming mode
there.

Time to sip some ice cold diet cherry vanilla dr. pepper
and get back to editing some nice exciting engineering
society papers. Oh joy....

Mike out :p

TRAILER A

I have never actually played the Hitman computer game, it always looked like a poor man's Splinter Cell to me.

But the movie looks pretty good. It looks like an interesting mix of Transporter style euro-action with spooky religious conspiracy stüffe.

Will definitely try to watch this one when it's released.

My partner is presently working her way through The Adversary Cycle after reading the Repairman Jack series up until Infernal.

She asked me a question last night that I was sure of the answer to. In the beginning of Reborn, the doctor fella dies in a plane crash. She is certain that someone else has died in a plane crash, and was wondering whether it was maybe the same plane crash? I honestly can't remember anybody else dying in a plane crash, but knowing how often FPW's stories intersect one another, I wondered if maybe someone else was on the plane as well?

She thinks it might be Ricardo Westphalen, but I am positive he got eaten by Rakosh. I don't know which book to start looking in, so thought it might be easier just to ask you guys.

Is she right? Or is she stooopid?

First of all, I want to ask to everyone. Can you stand for 3 hours David Lynch's film?

I could....somehow.

Today I went to see "Inland Empire". I thought 3 hours is too long. Moreover, it's David Lynch's film! But I enjoyed it. You know why? Because I'm D.L fan and I like his films. "Mulholland Drive" and "Lost Highway" completely confused me. But I like them. I think we shouldn't understand D.L's films. Because we CAN'T. So....also "Inland Empire" confused me. Completely I don't understood. More than "Mulholland Drive". But I understood one thing. "Inland Empire" is another side of "Mulholland Drive". Story is about actress and her husband, actor, director.

I felt it's like beautiful nightmare without exit. Oh....I wish I could say more details. But I won't say....no, I CAN'T say! Big Grin

So, I say about actors and actress.

Laura Dern! She played actress with perfect acting. She's great. I think this is her best film. Jeremy Irons played director. And, usual actors&actresses in DL's films, Harry Dean Stanton, Grace Zabriskie(Laura Parmer's mom), and Diane Ladd. All characters are unique. Especially, Grace Zabriskie freaked me out.

If you like "Mulholland Drive", I highly recommend it.

My favorite DL films.

1, Wild At Heart
2, Mulholland Drive
3, Lost Highway
4, Inland Empire
5, Blue Velvet

What's your favorite?

Teaser Trailer

Trailer

and here's a pretty good slideshow of some breath taking envirnments and characters from the game.

I am really looking forward to this game, and my partner is dreading it coming out. When I got GTA: San Andreas I basically disappered from her life for a couple of weeks as I played my way through it. This time, with the game looking so good, she's probably going to end up being ignored for a lot longer. . .
