The strongest spear, the one used to stop and kill utter, unfiltered, otherwise unstoppable, instinctive rage on legs is a long boar spear that uses the earth as its base and has branches in the form of crossbars. The branches are a part of the spear and are what makes it the most effective weapon in stopping the murderous, red-eyed violence of a charging boar, the scariest thing on legs.

Without its branches and its reliance upon the earth for leverage, a spear is just a big toothpick. Maybe that's why the Ally hasn't crushed the Otherness in all the universes. Too many toothpicks and not enough branches.

I'm traveling to NYC for the first time this summer. Anyone have any suggestions of Repairman Jack landmarks to visit while I'm there. Keep in mind I won't know my way around very well...

Thanks!

I found this in a menu in the Lego Batman for Xbox 360. It looks a little too familiar.

Did anyone watch this season? I vowed a long time ago to give the show up, and hadn't watched for a few years but I usually like all star seasons. After watching what I thought was one of the best season's I am again done watching :p. It makes no sence to me to reward doing nothing in a competition, which so often the jury does. I don't see how someone can be in a competition style game like this and not thinking about who played the best and most stratigic. But so often in these shows its just who made the most friends or least enemies.

Posted as mostly a rant but wondered how others saw it if they watched this season?

PS. I also don't think Russel should have won. I think he made some of the biggest moves and played the best early on, but post merge I feel Parv hands down played the best game.

With a twist on The Bad Seed theme, The Daisy Chain teases the viewer with the possibility that the young villain may be an evil fairy. It's the sort of flick that'll have you yelling at the screen as the overprotective mother figure has an excuse for every death connected to little Daisy. A very well-made horror film set against a nice ocean backdrop.

Hi all together,
I just intended to order The Barrens and Others.

I found 2 versions, 1 is paperback from 2000, the other hardcover from 2009.
Is the content the same, or is the 2009 a revised edition?
Or will there be a new reworked edition to come?

Thanks so far,
Joseph.

Whiplash was well-conceived and executed, and played to perfection by Mickey Roake. Those familiar with the Iron Man story will be pleased with how the filmmakers have managed to squeeze 20 years of story into one movie. Even Spiderman, the movie, couldn't do that.

30 minutes could have been trimmed, but I guess product placement pays the bills. Good story. Good villain. Good movie.

P.S. Stay until the end of the credits for a quick peek at another Avenger (two, if you count the shield reference). So far, we have Iron Man, Hulk, and Black Widow.

Was Chris Cooper's character killed by mistake in Bourne Identity? Did the assassin think he had killed Bourne?

I presume that the "baddies" were after Bourne because he failed in his mission.

So I was reading Richard Laymon's book In the Dark awhile ago and the character Brace is reading an F. Paul Wilson book in this story. Here's the excerpt, "My powers of concentration are awesome. And often a pain in the rear. Give you an example. I picked up an F. Paul Wilson novel at the airport last Christmas. I was supposed to fly home and spend the holidays with my family. While I was waiting for the jet to begin boarding, I began to read the book there in the waiting area by the gate. A very crowded waiting area. When I came out of the book, the crowd was gone. So was my flight." Anyone else know of any other books where FPW or his work is mentioned.
