Whiplash was well-conceived and executed, and played to perfection by Mickey Roake. Those familiar with the Iron Man story will be pleased with how the filmmakers have managed to squeeze 20 years of story into one movie. Even Spiderman, the movie, couldn't do that.

30 minutes could have been trimmed, but I guess product placement pays the bills. Good story. Good villain. Good movie.

P.S. Stay until the end of the credits for a quick peek at another Avenger (two, if you count the shield reference). So far, we have Iron Man, Hulk, and Black Widow.

You're counting Black Widow but not Nick Fury? Fury is getting his own movie at some point. Samuel Jackson signed up for nine movies last I read. Let's see, what other Avenger news...

Captain America has been casted for awhile now with Chris Evans (formerly Johnny 'The Human Torch' Storm) as Steve Rogers and Hugo Weaving as Red Skull.

Edgar Wright (Director of Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz) will be directing Ant-Man.

And Thor is filming with Chris Hemsworth as Thor and Anthony Hopkins as Odin.

It made me kind of wonder what way they were going to go with thor for the movie. I somewhat liked the Ultimate version a little better. But I haven't seen much so I don't know which way they are taking it.

I liked the movie a lot. Still somewhat had the same problem the first one had. It just didn't seem to have much action. Oh well it was still a great movie.

Nick Fury was a Howling Commando before becoming an Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. Which means he is as old as Captain America, but twice as old as most of the othe Marvel heroes and villains. And note also that Ol' Nick mentioned the creation of a "west coast" Avengers, which was different from the "east coast" Avengers. Not that the moviemakers will pay attention to the comic book universe rules. But as long as the movie is good, who cares how they screw-up my childhood memories. La-la-la. I don't care.

P.S. Wasn't Ryan Reynolds tapped for Repairman Jack?

I got to see some pics from the Green Lantern movie, with Reynolds playing the Green Lantern and all I can say is the cosutme looked really bad. Hopefully they will make a good movie out of it.

And didn't I hear Josh Whedon from Firefly was set to direct the Avengers movie?

Yeah i heard that about Whedon recently. Also he was supposed to lend some of his writing cred to the movie as well. I think it's kind of odd to set him as the directer of all these characters coming together. I think it would still be good, just thought it would somewhat be better if he handled maybe the Captain America movie as well to sort of set his tone for The Avengers movie. Still think it will be good though, just think its odd for him to just do the one movie. /shrug

I'm pretty sure this is a photo shop. His hand looks like they messed up and the suit itself looks pixelated. Not sure though.
