I'm pretty sure this show has been mentioned in other threads but I thought I'd start one anyway. Hung stars Thomas Jane as a high school teacher/coach who finds himself down on his luck who must make some money now so he decides to become a male escort. He enlists the help of Jane Adams as his pimp and is juggling twin teenagers and his ex-wife. Overall the show is pretty entertaining. The acting and writing are solid but it is not on par with the best cable series.

The trailer for the next, and probably last, Pirates of the Caribbean flick is out. It's using the title, and based loosely on, the book by Tim Powers that was the basis for the first Pirates movie.

This is another movie I watched over the weekend on Netflix instant. Great movie, I had read the book written by Ian Hamilton about this and had no idea a movie had been made from it.

This is about the 1950s raid by 4 college students from Scotland on Westminster Abbey to reclaim the Scottish Stone of Scone, or stone of destiny. Bringing Scottish pride and nationalism back to life.

Being of Scottish heritage I loved this movie and Ian Hamilton is a hero in my eyes, such a small act that carried such heavy symbolism for the Scottish people. I know that may make some people view me as a skirt wearing drunk thief but oh well. I dinnae care.Big Grin

I watched this movie on Netflix over the weekend and I have to say it was one of the weirdest movies I have seen in a long time. But, I really liked it. Beautifully shot with lots of stunning scenery.

Mads Mikklesen plays One Eye, a prisoner in a Viking camp who is forced to fight to the death with other prisoners, he escapes, ends up with some Viking Christians who think they are headed to Jerusalem to help in the crusades, they get lost at sea and end up in a place they don't understand.

Mikklesen is great even though he doesn't have one single word of dialogue in the entire movie (he has lost an eye and is mute from scars taken in battle over the years) he carries this movie.

Shot and structured almost like an art house indie movie it has some scenes of extreme violence but they work to illustrate the lifestyle these people lived.

Weird, very weird and a lot probably wouldn't enjoy it but I really liked this movie. Not your run of the mill arty farty movie because of the subject matter and the, very few, scenes of stark violence, and not your run of the mill Viking movie either because of the cerebral nature of the movie.

Fill in the blank please, waiting for the last book has my brain starving already. Looking for a long possibly open-ended series.

P.S. I enjoy fantasy as long as the characters & reactions in it are realistic. By that I mean they react the way people really act, not the fairytale bs mantra that fills most books. FPW, Chuck Palahniuk, & Robert Kirkman have pretty much spoiled me in that dept. To the point of finding the standard lovey dovey/good guys always win storyline to be boring.

Any & all suggestions would be appreciated.[URL="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Kirkman"]

About 2 years ago I asked FPW about his plans after the RJ series is done. So far he's started one thing and has solidified another. Hopefully we'll see a couple other items on this list get completed. http://www.repairmanjack.com/forum/showt...php?t=9251

I know it's a little late to comment on the disappearing/reappearing iPod, but there is a pseudo-scientific rule about these occurrences - as well as a solution to the problem. I developed this theory and solution as a college student, many years ago, and it holds as true today.

The rule states :When an inanimate object disappears on its own from where it was placed, it is only hiding and watching your search for it. Stop searching and pretend that you have replaced the object with a suitable replacement and it will reappear.

Whether that replacement is similar in appearance or not (such as a piece of plastic wrap secured on the milk jug by a rubber band as a substitute for the lid that you just laid on the countertop). Act as if you are satisfied with the substitution, smiling and behaving in a pleased manner. Begin paying attention to anything else, acting absorbed in the new interest. When the lost object understands that you have replaced it, don't need it, and are happy without it, it will reappear. Ta-dah!

Try it. It will make you feel silly at first, but usually works like a charm.

Hello. I am currently reading "Fatal Error", and I noticed that the silouette of Jack on the cover, almost appears that he has wings! Upon a second look, it also appears as if there is some face behind him, like a white face with demon eyes. Am I the only one who sees this?

Just curious, Lex
