first of all "the tomb"?? did i totlaly miss any reference in any shape or form to anything that even resembled a tomb??? :p oh well. i finally read the first RJ book, and this one compared to MY first Rj book (the haunted air) wasnt all that i was expecting. It was a little more of hte stereotypical bad vs. good, innoncent person in danger lets save the day, centuries old curse... dont get me wrong it was a great book just didnt have all the sparks that the haunted air had for me. but i understand its the first book and just tryign to set the stage and characters. I did like the fact that all the people up to vicky died and just like that, no time for a last breath. one chapter nellie was smart mouthing like nelly and the next the rakoshi are holding up pieces of her flesh...oh my! and i loved that kusams "grandmother" was kolabati without the necklace (freakY), it took all the way to the very last chapters to finally figure out what the signifigance of the necklace was. k i am totally looking foward to reading legacies next.... will it acutally have something to do with a "legacy"?? :p thanks FPW for another great read... jack is an awesome character, glad to know a lot more of his orgins.... OOH are we ever gonna see more of KOLABATI?????

First of all......WOW! Best one so far. Since I began CrissCross three days ago, I had a conflicting battle of not wanting to put the book down, but not wanting to finish it too quickly (not wanting to put the book down won). Wow, wow and double wow! I feel bad for all the people who have not been turned on to FPW and RJ.

My question is this.......do ALL the "mothers" have scars on their back? Is Opus Omega intented to kill ALL the "mothers". Do they all feel it when another cylinder is placed into the ground? Do the other two (besides herta) have a hole in through their back as a result of Anya dying?

Basically, how do the other "mothers" factor in?

Anyone watch part one? That was really good. I love the book and am glad that they didn't drop the ball on this one. The scene at the window was sweet, just like I pictured it in the book. About time something about vampires on tv or the big screen that is actually scary.

I didn't notice anyone else mentioning this here, so hopefully I'm not flogging a dead vampire. Did anyone else notice the reference to "The Keep" in the Hellsing anime series? Around Episode 9 or so, one of the soldiers is grumbling, "Nazis and vampires? I've read this book before." Later, one of the English characters is captured and turned into a vampire ... the character's name is Paul Wilson. Smile

Paul - I bought a 1st of Virgin today and I just have to write to tell you how much the blurb on the cover made me laugh!! The dedication was similarly brilliant!! Big Grin

Was the pseudonym meant to be kept secret? Who 'outed' (or 'Bachman-ed') you?

cheers

I was doodling around on the ol' comp and came up with this; a highly stylized comic-bookish Jack standing against a darkening New York (if you check out the original photo that I stole, you can see where I went over it with a black airbrush to make it look like the darkness was seeping out between the buildings). Check out the bars of shadow across the Statue of Liberty; I wanted it to be kind of like the hand of evil creeping across the city.

Then I added in all the text and copyright junk. Oh, and the weird looking moon is mine too.

Techincally the background photo is copyrighted and "not for commerical use", but it's probably okay for you guys to look at it.

Oh yeah, it's not really the right size for wallpaper, but I still think it looks pretty good.

On the HBO television series "Six Feet Under" there is a character named Claire FIsher, she is the redheaded sister/daughter of the family who runs the funeral home.

Well, last night I got to see the actress who plays Claire, Lauren Ambrose sing. And all I can say is Wow!!! She blew me away. Amazing voice and talent. She performed in kind of a jazz style with just a piano player to accompany her. And she has a really amazing voice.

Who would have thunk it?

Aarniokoski nails 'Repairman' pic

Helmer Douglas Aarniokoski, who frequently collaborates with Robert Rodriguez, is meeting up with "Repairman Jack" for Beacon Pictures, sources said. The project is described as "Indiana Jones" meets "The Mummy," centering on a man for hire who tries to track down an elusive evil figure and save the world. Bill Borden and Barry Rosebush are producing along with Beacon Pictures, where it's being shepherded by company topper Armyan Bernstein and development and production topper Suzann Ellis. Originally written by Trevor Sands, the project was most recently handled by scribe Chris Morgan. Executives at Beacon could not be reached for comment. Aarniokoski is repped by ICM, Nine Yards Entertainment's Matt Luber and attorney Marc Golden at the law firm Gendler & Kelly. He also is attached to direct "The Courier" for Avi Lerner's Millennium Films and producers Willi Baer and Carmen Miller at their Eternity Pictures. For Rodriguez, Aarniokoski has directed second unit on "Once Upon a Time in Mexico" and was first assistant director on "Spy Kids" and "From Dusk Till Dawn." (Chris Gardner)

Having just finished Midnight Mass I am curious as to whether FPW has any plans to continue on with this little saga.
