I have finished all of FPW's books and need something else to read. does anyone have any other suggestions on things that are good right now? It just doesn't seem liek there are any authors out there like him that can put so many things in a book.

At last, it was released in Japan. Today, I went to see this interesting documentary in theater.

I thought it was a funny. At first, it cracked me up! But then, I felt it weird. Well, I don't eat at McD's three times a day...... Rolleyes Anyway, I don't want to eat fast food anymore. I quit it! (But I can't stop eating Pizza.)

Vomit scene was disgusting. Eat the hamburger, and vomit? I've never seen that before. Ugh!

Now that I have my grubby mits on 'A Little Beige Book', I thought somebody might want my old copy of Heroic Fantasy, the book of stories that originally included Demonsong.
I'm not really a sword and sorcery kind of guy (I only bought the book for Demonsong) so I thought the book might like to go to a good home.
Let me know - first come, first served.
(And if a fight ensues, then I can drink as much Guinness as you can buy! Big Grin )

Sangwyn Wrote:Sorry, Jimbo. I gotta go with Lisa on this one. It is a medically-themed novel, but since the character is pretty much resigned at the outset of the book, the thrill is less about the medical (see Implant to know what I mean) and more about personal exploration. I'm not saying it's not a good book. It is a very good book and I enjoyed it. But a medical thriller ? Not so much. More a "mysteries of the universe" than "Oh God! He's going into OR #8! That's where the anesthesia has been replaced! How will he ever survive? Will they harvest his organs, too?" (Yep, I did see Coma a bit too much as a kid.)

Just my 2¢.
Sangwyn

I have to agree with Lisa and Sangwyn on this one, too. FIFTH HARMONIC is a wonderful story about healing - what it takes, what it's worth to us, what we are willing to do to be healed, and that leads to an examination of our belief systems surrounding health and the universe as a whole. It's really quite metaphysical, when you think about it.

No, the FIFTH HARMONIC may have a toehold in the world of medicine, in that it deals with illness, but it deals with illness by looking at our THOUGHTS and FEELINGS about illness, and what it takes for our HEARTS to heal.

I know there are a lot of Star Wars fans on this site. Some of you may have heard that Lucas is looking into doing a television show after the third film is released next May. The series is supposedly going to take place after Episode VI.

Though this news may be new to a lot of you. Take it with a grain of salt but if true I'm curious what everyone's thoughts are on it.

This article was taken from News Askew and is about Kevin Smith's involvement.

I guess the fans are very excited about Kevin's involvement on the TV show. The reaction up here has also been very good. There has been some questioning lately trying to find out who your source was Smile but they just can't keep this under wraps.

There has been plenty of plans for future re-assignments and plenty of moving around inside the "Ranch", they have already started making room for the offices that will handle the TV show. I am not quite sure if the bulk of the work will be done here or if they will be done over at the Presidio. Smith is definitely the top choice and I have been told that he has been staying very busy with negotiations before he starts up with his Clerks sequel. There was some up here that claim that he was spotted up here a few weeks ago, I didn't see him.

The TV show will go full speed as soon as Sith is released by that time Kevin should be done with most of his work on Clerks 2. Your scooper that sent you the info on Hamill is right, they are hoping to get Mark to come back and be like the mentor of the new Jedi Knights or something. I am trying to pin point the time frame and if they are expected to keep the EU continuity. I personally doubt that EU storylines will be explored, they might be mentioned but from what I understand Kevin and George want fresh new storylines. I was told about a possible twist to show, even though it's to take place after Return of the Jedi a few ILMers have been talking about showing some flashback sequences via Holocron- type technology.

I was also told that the public should expect an official announcement within a few months. Part of not releasing any information on the show is because News Corp. [20th Century Fox] is hoping to be involved with the distribution of the show. There has also been some rumblings coming from the Sci-Fi Channel hoping to land the domestic distribution but I doubt that will happen. One other thing, Sith is turning up nicely.

Wow! What a terrific author. I stumbled upon "The Keep" a few months ago and I remembered seeing the Movie back in the 80's. The book was far better IMO. Of course I had to read more so I got "The Tomb" after getting onto Amazon.com and getting an idea of how the Adversary Cycle was laid out.
I then read "Legacies" and am currently working on "The Touch" and "Conspiracies". Personally I'm none too concerned about the order, I see cross-references popping up and I've read synopses of all the Adversary and RJ books so I have an idea where everything is leading. Hopefully I'll be able to round up the Short Stories as well. The books just get better and better and I can't wait to gobble up the rest!

Hope to chat with some of you knuckleheads soon!!!

For those of us who are LAW & ORDER fans, nuts in my case, the death of Jerry Orbach is a loss. He played wise-cracking New York City detective Lenny Briscoe for 12 years on L&O. I love L&O and am addicted to the reruns. He was also a Tony award winning song and dance man. I loved him in DIRTY DANCING, too, one of my favorite films. He was a great animal lover and supported Bide-A-Wee, a rescue/adoption agency in NYC.

And, finally, Jerry Orbach reminded me of my late father-in-law (ex), who was a great guy, funny and loved to sing, too, though he wasn't much of a dancer. Smile
