I picked up this link on another site. Fox banned this commercial. (Afraid of FCC?)

You have to give a birthdate, enter, then click on the "banned" banner.

This is a new show on the Comedy Central where 4 contestants are asked 5 simple/trick/semi-tough questions during 3 rounds each round having a different type of distraction. The player with the least points in a round is eliminated until only one player is left. That player must then answer 5 questions to get their prize(s).

The catch...

In each round the contestants are faced with distractions that make it difficult to answer quickly and correctly. For example, in order to "buzz in" first you have to down a shot of hot sauce, then slam the glass down. Doesn't sound too rough but 11 questions were asked in the round so some of them did 11 shots of hot sauce. In another episode, the player's buzzer was wired to a chair that shocked their mother whenever they buzzed in. In order for the last person left to get his prize(s) they run the risk of destroying their awards via wrong answers.

I've only caught 2 episodes so far but it's been very entertaining.

I know FPW has discussed re-writing Nightworld to include Jack's new exposure to the Otherness. Is this gonna be included in the Borderlands Press Nightworld due out next February? Or will this be the original?

Anyone know?

Hello,
I am a Repairman Jack fan. A few years ago I met my favorite rapper in the world. We became good friends and later I found out he was a book worm who can read about two pages a second. I'm not hyping this up either, I've seen him read a hundred page book in less than a minute and remember almost every detail He took a job at Borders Book Seller so he could read more books for free.
One day last year he told me about this book the Sims. I told my wife and for my birthday last year she went out to look for it. She couldn't find it locally, so she ordered it. To have something wrapped up on my B-Day, she purchased the Keep and Hosts. I read Hosts first and became hooked. I'm not an exceptionally fast reader, but I had surgery three days after my birthday and was bedridden for two weeks. I read all the Repairman Jack novels up in to that point within a week. Gateways came out shortly after I finished ALL THE RAGE. I had crackhead withdrawl until Crisscross came out.

I live in California and I am also a musician. However, my record lable is based out of Monroe New York. I went on tour in August of 2004 and stayed a couple of nights in Monroe, and I was wondering if this was the Monroe that is mentioned in all the RJ novels. I had always assumed Monroe was in New Jersey.

Could someone please tell me if this is the Monroe in the Repairman Jack Books.

Thanks
John Carter

It took me over two months to read Crisscross. I savored it like a fine wine (I don't drink, but every other person says it). Pity is, I didn't enjoy it as much as the other RJ books. All The Rage is still fresh in my mind, even though I read it years ago. Crisscross, however, is already slipping from my memory even though I spent three months with it, reading and rereading many passages. Overall, what bothered me was the Cult theme. I remember years ago, someone pointed out to F. Paul Wilson about the Moonies running guns and he replied something to the effect, "Hmmmm....very interesting. Must note this down." I wondered what he would do with that note, and I think that note evolved into Crisscross. But the cult was not interesting enough to drive the plot for me. The two main villains were not very villainous. The Scientologists in real life are truly villainous. One of their creeds is to wipe out those who they perceive to oppose them, even if only in print. In other words, the Dormentalists could not match the villainy of a real cult, and after reading so much about the Scientologists over the years, I don't see how I could not be disappointed. And to see Brady sent off to jail as the ending? I would have rather seen Jack off him as he did the blackmailer. The Haunted Air and All The Rage still stand atop the RJ oeuvre as standalone novels. Crisscross for me seemed like a puzzle piece for the rewrite of NIGHTWORLD rather than a standalone. I did, however, love the Glaeken section foreshadowing. I hope this development doesn't alter the role Glaeken plays in the NIGHTWORLD finale. All coincidences seem to point to RJ taking on Rasalom in the rewrite. Don't do it. Glaeken's still the MAN.

*** Possible Spoilers***

I saw this movie today. It isn't the most original or even all that scary in my opinion, but it was pretty good nonetheless. DeNiro gives a solid performance, but Dakota Fanning steals the movie. Some of her expressions are terrifying, and you can't help but be moved by her when she is terrified and crying herself.

The movie itself has some twists and turns and misdirection. Some of you see coming, some not. It starts off solidly, but then it gets a little slow. It really gets going in the "third act," and holds your attention til the end. It sputters a little bit at the very end but not enough to detract really, just enough to remind you that movies like this have been done many times before.

Yesterday, I finished the reading of Hosts, it took only two days.

And last week, Bluesman Mike send to me, "Haunted Air", and I got it last Saturday(Thank you, Bluesman Mike Smile ).

You know, everybody say "Japanese cover is near", "Very cool cover". But I think English paperback's cover is very cool, too. Especially, hole on cover. I've never seen like that cover before. It's very stylish design.

Also, most surprised thing is price. $7.99? That's inexpensive price! Now I understood why FPW say "Pretty steep for a paperback".

Anyway, I'm really looking forward to reading of Haunted Air. Thank you, Bluesman Mike.

And, thank you, Paul. You are amazing storyteller.

Let me introduce one Japanese movie. As I said before, I rarely see recent Japanese movie, but this is exception. Especially, a child actor, Yuya Nagira, he is extraordinary child. Tarantino raved about him, and he gave Cannes best actor to Yuya Nagira. Smile

If you have a opportunity, see this movie, and tell me your thoughts. The movie's title is Nobody Knows(Daremo Shiranai).

As I have been recording my CDs to cassette, I've also been reviewing my DVD collection. I don't watch the movie, however; I hunt easter eggs. On LOTR Fellowship Special Edition, there is a great short featuring Jack Black and that girl who played Buffy. It's not all that funny, but it's fun finding these eggs. FINDING NEMO has a whole bunch of eggs, and these are funny; one has Dory coming up to the TV screen and saying, Hey, look! Mammals! My favorite so far though has been the Blair Witch 2; I know it wasn't a popular movie, but I loved it. On the DVD there's a whole world of eggs and clues and hidden stuff that you can only see in rewind mode. After I gathered all of the clues, I was sent to blairwitch.com to submit my findings, whereby I was supposed to get to see a bonus clip of movie. Too bad this gimmick expired and all my work done for nought. However, on Harry Potter: S Stone, you have to solve a bunch of puzzles and get rewarded with a batch of extra scenes (different from the ones on the menu). When I burn out and can't find any eggs, I google the DVD title and get the cheats to find the eggs. What fun!

Any other Easter Egg hunters?
