I just bought a limited, signed first edition of the Tomb on eBay. I'll attach the picture provided by the seller. I already have an inscribed first edition of the Tomb in excellent condition that I bought last year (it's inscribed to someone else back in '84). I was completely satisfied with the book I had, but when I saw this limited edition on eBay, I had to snap it up at any price. Now that I have a limited first, I'm willing to part with the other one.

Here's the deal: I need a Gauntlet signed, limited of The Haunted Air, which I can't seem to find anywhere. There are other small holes in my collection as well. I'm willing to look at possible trades, including multi-book trades, that would help me (and you) fill out our collections. For example, I have an extra first edition of Wheels Within Wheels, and somehow I've ended up with a couple other extras (senior moments while on eBay most likely). I don't buy and sell Paul's books for profit, so I'm only concerned with working out a fair trade that benefits everyone concerned. If anyone is interested, please send me a PM.

Here's the one I just bought:

This may be a question that was answered in some post in the past. I've noticed a lot the FPW books talk about the period in Monroe where a bunch of kids were born deformed. Is there any book that explains WHY this happens in detail? The actual incident at that time?

Today, I went to rental video store, and I found one horror movie. The title is "The Haunted". I read introduction. The way I see it, it's like a vampire movie. I thought "Hmm, sounds good". Then I saw staff. Written by Tony Mandile and F.Paul Wilson.

I thought "What? F.Paul Wilson? I've never heard about The Haunted in his books! Did I miss info...? Or is it his original? Wait a minute, is this Midnight Mass? But title is The Haunted, it's written by English on package. "

Anyway, I rented this video...

Opening scene is TV news films...Oh? I saw Paul in TV news scene! And, movie's title......MIDNIGHT MASS. Oh! Gosh! The Haunted was Japanese title!

I read about Midnight Mass movie on this board. Almost people said one word, "Worst". Well, I think everybody read Midnight Mass, then saw the movie. I don't read Midnight Mass yet, so I can't compare book and movie.

But I understood one thing. Actors and actress were pretty bad.

Today, I went to see this movie to theater.

It was okay. Pretty good. Very weird movie. But because of visual, I got an eye strain. Some of scenes reminded me of Seven. Ben Kingsley is awesome. But I felt sorrow to him in last scene.

I think it's the final scene in "Mighty Joe Young" where the big ape has sacrificed himself to save .... someone (probably the girl, can't remember) and we see his big finger jutting from the sea, wrapped in a ragged bandage, waving its final goodbye. Oh do I cry!

I love the Halloween scene from "Meet Me in St. Louis" with the wonderful little Margaret O'Brien.

And is it in "Key Largo" that Bacall teaches Bogie how to whistle?

Edited to add: Oops. Checked with my screenwriter friend. That whistle quote is from "To Have and Have Not" (1944).

A friend and I were discussing what time of year the movie, "The Day After Tomorrow," happened. I think it started around September; She thinks it was in the spring. (The September date doesn't include the Antarctica scene which would have had to happen during our winter.)
We spent our lunch hour looking for clues and couldn't find anything definite.
Has anyone noticed any clues as to when the movie was supposed to happen? I know this is kind of dumb, but now we are obsessed.

I just figured i would see if anyone out there was reading anything good in the horror field. I'll start out myself i just got done reading a couple good ones. First Caitlin r Kiernan's Threshold which is in the vein of Lovecrafts Mythos. Great book and it really creeps you out i think everyone should check this out.

Second book Owl Goingback's Breed. Classic horror should be enjoyable to most. Third book In Silent Graves. One of the best books i have ever read. A whole new mythology has been invented and i think everyone should read this book. Fourth and last of all (not a horror novel) Dean Koontz's Life Expectancy. Just like Odd Thomas and really good.

Please give me some imput i am running out of books to read!

The Yes Men is an amusing documentary of a couple of pranksters impersonating representatives from the World Trade Organization. They try their best to get caught, but are consistently seen as the real deal and their antics taken at face value.

At last, Ju-on; The Grudge, we(Japanese) can see it from tomorrow in Japan. For the movie's publicity, Sarah Michelle Gellar visited to Japan. Next film is preview event in Tokyo.

Sarah in Tokyo

In my schedule, I'll go to see it next Thursday. So after I saw it, I'll post my opinion.

I just bought Black Wind on Ebay. Should get it in a couple of days. Can't wait! I should be done re-reading Haunted Air by the time it gets here. I'm also bidding on Dydeetown (did I spell that right?).
