I have rarely seen any FPW novels in an airport, and I sometimes look when I am traveling to see what is for sale. In Newark, however, found almost all of the RJ series, even The Tomb. One was even autographed, so I of course had to buy it (along with the other RJ novels I do not have - I borrowed the series from family to read, now am buying for my own collection).

Guess it pays to be a local boy for advertising and sales. Glad to see it.

Chalk up three purchases in Newark. Maybe it'll buy FPW a beer or two......

I was pleasantly surprised by this show. I expected there to be a lot of artificial drama, but there is a lot of real stuff going on. I know this sounds stupid, but other than the fights at the end I really like it. I have a hard time watching people beat each other up while a crowd cheers and stuff. Overall, I really like the show. I like that the boxers' families are there and that everyone is given a fair shake and they aren't exploited for TV as much as some other reality TV contestants. Does anybody else watch?

Two words. Kuh rap. I was so disappointed. Aside from a few scenes with Samara, it's really worth waiting for it to come to DVD if you must see it. But all of you who loved the first one like me will probably disregard this warning and plunk down your sheckles anyway. For me, there was too much involvement between Rachel, Aiden and Samara. I'm not giving away anything not in the preview, but the premise that Samara wants to somehow become Aiden doesn't come off well. Now I will give something away: it makes absolutely no sense how suddenly Aiden and/or Rachel somehow have the power to communicate to each other in their dreams. This movie drags a lot whereas in the first film, I felt like an actual set-up for something later was going on in between scares. And every horror movie has rules, right? The rules in this one don't make sense, or at least, I don't understand how Rachel and Aiden keep figuring them out. How does he know she can't hear him in his dreams? And a major spoiler here (hi-light if you want to read): how does Rachel know she can be sucked into the television, escape from the well and push the top back on so Samara can never escape again? Isn't the presentation of the well on the TV before she kills you a construct of Samara's mind?
Oh, and one last thing: too much CG. The first film didn't need it, it's always a disappointment when a follow-up movie employs it so heavily (see Matrix: Reloaded & Matrix: Revolutions).
But there were some decent previews. Wes Craven presents: Red Eye. It looks like a drama at first in the preview until too many coincidences happen where this woman is running into this guy in an airport. She has the seat next to him on the plane and she says as much and he says something to the effect of, "Don't you know who I am?" and his left eye turns red the color of a setting sun and the title screen comes up. And Amityville Horror looks cool even though they keep lying and saying it's based on a true story.

Any James Bond fans here?

I am 007 fan. I have some Bond movies on DVD. Each actor who played Bond brought something new to the table, however, while I enjoyed each of them, I think Sean Connery is the best James Bond. Connery's Bond was brilliant. My favorite Bond film with Connery is From Russia with love.

So, who is your favorite James Bond? and what is your favorite film?

I've got to see this one! "Spamalot" comes to Broadway, Eric Idle's musical version of "Monthy Python and the Holy Grail." Woo hoo! Eric Idle, Hank Azaria, Tim Curry and David Hyde Pierce. Complete with coconuts, rabbits, knights, castles and dancing girls!

I apologize for the shameless plug, but anyone familiar with the horrible movie that was Exorcist: The Beginning by director Renny "Mr Geena Davis" Harlin and the controversy surrounding the original prequel, directed by Paul Schrader will be glad to know that two members of Bloody News were invited by Paul Schrader (Affliction and writer of Raging Bull and Taxi Driver) to veiw his version of the film Exorcist: The Beginning, now titled Paul Schrader's Exorcist:The Original Prequel. His movie was shelved by Morgan Creek Entertainment because the president of the company James G. Robinson deemed it poorly shot and not gory enough for the skateboard generation. The reviews of the movie can be viewed HERE . These are the first two people in the world to view this movie. It is scheduled to premier at Brussels International Festival of Fantasy Films tomorrow. There will be an indepth and exclusive interview with The director of the film Paul Schrader that should post sometime in the next day or two.

I just finished Sims and I really enjoyed it! I couldn't guess the final twist at the end until it was revealed--which is very refreshing after going through several James Patterson and Tony Hillerman "mysteries" with their predictable plots. Now I'm waiting for Amazon.com to deliver The Barrens and Others, A Scanner Darkly and M*A*S*H.

FPW, just finished reading Midnight Mass. It was "ossym". Anyways, found the same typo in a couple of places, Carole is spelled 'Carol' on pages 239 and 275. Just jumped out at me, especially since earlier in the book she tells Lacey that it's 'Carole, with an e'.

P.S. If this is not the best way to inform you of typos, please let me know what is. Don't want to "annoy the artist". Wink

My copy arrived today along with Sims #4. CD have done themselves and fpw proud with this HUGE book. This IMO is his finest looking book esp. the colour plates inside. Lovely!

Just saw Master and Commander and made this observation.

Russell Crowe looks like Beau and Jeff Bridges were in a transporter accident and got turned into one person. Is it just me?

Haven't heard too much about the Bridges brothers lately
