I read SCIFI are making the adventures of Dresden into a pilot, to be picked up for a series.
Anyone gonna watch it? I'll be glued to the set that night.

Unlike many on the board, I have seen Brokeback Mountain. But let me be straight about this right up front: It will not win for Best Picture. That honor belongs to Munich.

I hope George Clooney gets the Best Director nod.

Heath Ledger is a shoe-in for Best Actor.

King Kong was sort of overlooked for the major categories, but should walk away with Special Effects or Sound or something.

Capote was overrated, but Hoffman's role was sweet; his co-star should get the Best Supporting Actress nod. I don't remember her name, but she was the "sexpot" in "Being John Malkavich."

Post you later.

A meteor shower hits a small town in Australia and releases a zombie plague into the air. Only 6 people remain unaffected and they have to find a way out. But they soon find out that meteors are not the only thing from space that has come to their town.

I think Marc B. and Scott Miller will get a kick out of this film. It was shot with the intention of looking like a B movie (and it does) and the actors do a great job of being hammy. Plenty of blood and gore but so fake that it's more humorous than gross. The FX can be really good at times especially considering their budget ran out on the 3rd day (?) of filming. The action scenes and the weapons used are a riot. This is a film that Wallace would love because it's so damn cheesey. Rent this one for some good laughs.

HUSTLE, Not sure if anyone has been watching this gem from BBC, but it is aired on AMC on Saturday evenings at 10:00 PM EST; encores Friday at 7 PM
The show is about a group of grifters in London- very cool, very slick, very much fun. They are airing the second season now.
Robert Vaughn is actually in it...the rest of the cast is English. It's smart, funny and well directed. The gang is quite the assortment and to keep people appeased and liking the them, they only con the dirty nasty people Thier motto is "you can't cheat a honest man"

I suppose we must all have a list of movies we didn't like in the theater, but when they came to video or cable we enjoy. The Jacket got me thinking about this because I disliked it very much in the theater but I just saw it on Cinemax (?) and I enjoyed it. Here's my list

The Jacket
Breakdown
Die Hard (I liked it the first time, I just liked it more each time I saw it)
Total Recall (same as Die Hard)
In the Mouth of Madness (it might have been a maturity thing, I was 18 when I saw it the first time around)
Gothika (didn't see it in a theater, but it would have annoyed me if I had)

I'm watching the US ice dance team of Tanith Belbin and Ben Agosto. I swear Tanith reminds me of our own Co-Queen, Susan. Absolutely adorable.

That's about my only comment on the Olympics. Except that I wish I could figure out the rules and strategy for the short track speed skating event. Those skaters seem to defy gravity and all sorts of laws of physics. Great fun to watch.

I was so disappointed in the show's lack of acknowledgement of the poor bomb squad guy that lost his life in the last episode.
But on a lighter note, McDreamy and McSteamy, hmmmm.......nice little fantasy!(Smile)
And George finally gets his wish. Ah, but at what price?
