I don't remember if anyone has posted this yet. I'm still trying to find a version that I can download and save.

SNL - Lazy Sunday

Last night I saw old Hong Kong movie, "Geung si sin sang". English title is Mr. Vampire. Has anybody seen this?

Actually, it's not too old, it was in '85 movie. But in '80s, I saw a lot of fun Hong Kong movies. Jackie Chan, Bruce Lee, Hui brother's movies.....and, this Mr. Vampire series. I haven't seen for 20 years ever since I saw it in a theater. Yesterday I got used video tape, and I saw it. Still, this is very funny horror comedy, and I enjoyed a lot. It's a....Vampire(rather zombie) + comedy + Kung Fu. Chinese vampire(designation is "Geung si") doesn't turn to fog or wolf. Instead of that, they attack to people with jump like a frog! Only one way to avoid them, it is "stop breath". Big Grin They sniff live human's breath, and attack to live human.

Master Gau is vampire hunter's master(sort of Van Helsing). Chou and Man Choi is his disciples. His disciples are goofs and sloppy, so master is always scolding them. Big Grin

After this movie, they made some sequels. But first movie was the best!

Here is detail. If you have time and an opportunity, check it out. I recommend this to horror/comedy fan.

What a bizarre flick, but in a generally good way. It is essentially like a filmed version of a juvenile comic book. My kids liked it and it held my attention for the most part. George Lopez was great as Mr. Electricidad and there were some excellent lines about pursuing your dreams. I wouldn't recommend it unless you plan on watching it with a young un or two.

Robert Rodriguez seems to specialize in these surreal-looking films. I thought this was better than the Spy Kids movies.

I'm just tossing this out there. Do with it what you will.

Now I'm reading Midnight Mass, and I have one question...

In hard cover TOR edition, page 176...The scene The Brits argue with Olivia, then suddenly thunderous boom rattled the windows and shook the floor beneath Lacey. So....what was that cause?

Did I fail to notice something...? Or will I know about it later? I'm reaing page 196, but still I don't know that cause.

Young Helena yearns for a "real" life outside of the family business - a circus. Her parents want her to take over some day. This clash causes many fights and many words are said that will soon be regretted when Helena finds herself in a frightening situation. Physically and mentally exhausted, Helena finally goes to sleep and falls into a life-changing dream. Or was it just a dream?

I can only describe this film as Terry Gilliam meets Cirque Du Soleil. Not quite as good as Gilliam, but pretty damn good. The plot isn't all that original but the visuals are great and really help to give the story line a true dream feel. The world that is created is captivating and the characters are well developed. If you're a fan of fantasy adventures then be sure to watch this movie.

Yesterday I received a square, gold-leaf box about 4-5 inches wide embossed with:

THE TOMB
The First Repairman Jack Novel
New York Times bestselling author
F. PAUL
WILSON

Inside is a bifold brochure touting the special $3.99 “author’s preferred text edition” of THE TOMB due in August. It includes an except from the novel about the tainted chocolates Kusum has left for his next victim. And beneath that, a quartet of chocolate squares (two milk, two dark), each embossed with THE TOMB and my name.

Now, I gotta ask you: How cool is that? These boxes will be going out to booksellers all over the country to induce them to order lots and lots of copies of THE TOMB bargain edition, which will in turn addict more readers to Repairman Jack. MWAHAHAHAHAHA! (Sorry)

And the chocolate is good too.

Hi,

Can somebody tell me if I have to re-apply to receive the newsletter if I've changed my email address?

I've just noticed that I haven't seen one since November!

Thanks.
