Been there, done that.

Still, loved the heck out of it. SAW III completes the trilogy in a satifactory manner.

Now, if someone can tell me, what the hell are they doing working on SAW IV?
Didn't they see SAW III. Story over.

AC

P.S. I'll probably see SAW IV anyway. Forgive this gore geek.

When does Aftershock and Others come out? Has anyone heard anything? I loved his other two short story collections and really am looking forward to another one.

Also is just me, or does the news section of the main site only update at the end of every month. For example under news, to the right where it says The Latest, the date says 10/20, yet the last news update is 9/28, does he write different stuff on days throughout the month but not put them up until the end of the month?

Ok I'm reading Hosts right now and I came across this line that I just didn't get. Stand and Joe were talking about the Savior possibly being their guy. Well then Joe is all pissed and then he is spouting on about some crap and he says "We used to watch our ankles through our socks. Remember that?"

Ok, maybe its a NYC/NJ slang or mobster/criminal thing, but what the hell does that mean? I'm from Chicago and I've never heard it. I reread the line like 5 times thinking I would get it, but I just didn't. Any help?

Coming soon -- 'Lost' action figures
AP

(10/30/06 - TEMPE, AZ) - Soon you'll be able to sit your favorite character from "Lost" in the hatch and make them punch in Hurley's numbers so nothing blows up.

The first set of action figures are of Jack, Charlie, Kate, Shannon, Locke and Hurley. There's also a Hatch Boxed Set that shows the closing scene of the first season finale.

They'll be on sale starting next month.

So I just finished Nightworld, and a was just curious on a few things. Keep in mind that I've only read the 6 books of the Adversary Cycle, none of the other RJ novels yet. Also, I read the regular version of Nightworld, not the revised one, which for all I know may have changed things that apply to my questions.

First off, it was kind of sad that Jeffy still had his autism at the end of the book, I was hoping that somehow he would get healed again. Also, I loved the book but I feel that at the end there should have been more pages devoted to the aftermath or at least to the characters and their plans/feelings/etc., it just kind of stopped too quickly for me.

My main question is, now I had to stop a couple of times, because I was reading the book at work, so it is possible I may have missed something. But it seems to me that Rasalom is still very much alive somewhere, either buried deep in the earth or in another dimension, because he pretty much just fell after getting a few parts hacked off, which I also was slightly annoyed with, I mean I wanted him to be completely hacked and slashed apart...mutilated...very slowly. :p

Also, Glaeken is still immortal at the end of the book, if Rasalom was truly dead then Glaeken would have become mortal again like he did at the end of The Keep. So I guess the struggle is eternal, will go on between them forever? Because I'm sure with upcoming techology especially, if all it took was a clone in Rebirth being created for Rasalom to find a gateway back onto our plane of existence, then I'm pretty sure it would be quite easy to bring Rasalom back.

Which brings me to this - why does FPW refuse to do a post Nightworld book, there are so many possiblities here, I mean, even apart from Rasalom coming back, the whole idea that FPW could basically create his own new post-apocalypse world is quite intriquing. Like this quote right here from the last couple of pages of Nightworld.....

"A whole new mythology could rise out of this. A new round of sun worship, that's for sure. It'll be interesting to see what develops."

Seems to me that this idea is too interesting to be wasted. But hey that's just my opinion. So guys please enlighten me on these questions I've posed. Am I way off the mark on my ideas and questions? Did I miss something reading the book that would tell me that Rasalom is truly gone? Does anyone else feel depressed about Jeffy? Help! Big Grin

February 23, 1945....Joe Rothenthal took one photo. Four American soldiers hoisted the Star-Spangled Banner on Iwo Jima.

"Frags of Our Father" is not simply war movie. Of course, this movie is battle of America vs. Japan at Iwo Jima. But this movie's story is after three soldiers returned to homeland. And governments used them for War fund's ad, governments made them heroes of war. After all, governments simply needed MONEY, MONEY, MONEY, a lot of MONEY! They don't care about human's lives. Even now, they send soldiers to Iraq...(Sorry, I should stop this. Otherwise, this thread will be political discussion)

Clint Eastwood did great work as usual. "The Heartbreak Ridge" and "Where Eagles Dare" were also great war action (and entertainment) movies. But this "Frags of Our Father"'s battle scenes were like a documentary film. Too realistic like "Saving Private Ryan".

As a result, many American and Japanese died by this war. When one of American soldiers burned Japanese soldier, Japanese soldier screamed, "Tasukete!". Still, I can't take away that word from my head....Sad

I have to see also "Letters from Iwo Jima". "Letters from Iwo Jima" is a point of view from Japanese side. Ken Watanabe(The Last Samurai, Memoir of Geisha) plays Japanese soldier. Also this was directed by Clint Eastwood.

[Image: skeet.jpg]As I keep watching CBS's JERICHO, I can't help thinking that Skeet Ulrich, who plays Jake Green, would be a great Jack. He's got a nondescript face and compact form. Plus his character's expertise on about everything (suggesting spy-type training) also fits in with RJ's M.O.
Any other ideas?

This seems to fit best under the TV and Film category, but it's actually a stage musical.

I so want to see this: Evil Dead: The Musical. I agree with the person who wrote in to that site. Based on the video snippet I saw, the actor playing Ash pretty well nailed it. I love the song titles they list: "What the Fuck Was That", "Look Who's Evil Now" and "All the Men in My Life Keep Getting Killed by Candarian Demons".

It's playing in New York, so I think the other Evil Dead fans on the board and I would very much appreciate (wink wink, nudge nudge) those of you in that area going to see the show and posting detailed reviews here! And try to get in the Splatter Zone! (Ushers pass out ponchos because you get splattered with fake blood! I've GOT to see this show!!!) Smile
