Not that we need an excuse to watch them, but Halloween is always a great time watch some good horror flicks. I started last night with my first viewing of Corpse Bride followed by Slither. I liked 'em both. CB, while not on par A Nightmare Before Christmas, was still full of eye candy. Slither won't win any awards, but was a pretty fun gorefest. A solid 'B' effort.

Monster House and a movie to be named later are on tap for this evening's festivities.

And for us Tiger fans, the World Series is providing plenty of grim images of pitchers who can't throw.

I'd like to advise - What to
present the loving spouse with on the year happy marriage?
I'm solitary.
maybe 1.5 year ago-
i have found thousands of acquaintances sites with the
Russians through the search...and whrever I registed - I've
become a real professional!
But- I've found where it's possible to get
acquainted with a real Russian lady Online Dating site-
1000lovers.com(i tell about all my friends-no expensive but
real )
Then there were letters, phone conversations, the first
unforgettable meeting in Moskow...I fly in Moskow!Russia!First
time!
My Elena!
Then there was our wedding in USA in CA...
my beloved
woman with me)
Maybe, somebody
will have interesting ideas towards a gift?

StillKing Films has acquired film rights to Jennifer Egan's supernatural novel The Keep, with Ehren Kruger (The Ring) set to adapt, Variety reported.

The Keep, published by Knopf in August, is a supernatural thriller set in a haunted castle in which a woman is seduced by a mysterious prisoner.

StillKing is a Prague-based financing and production outfit that's served as co-producer on projects including the latest James Bond movie, Casino Royale, as well as The Illusionist, Van Helsing and other films.

Kruger and Daniel Bobker will produce the project, along with StillKing's Matthew Stillman; the banner's production president, David Minkowski, executive-produces.

I'm about half way through Gateways and something occurred to me that I need the answer to. Now I suspect that the identity of the woman (women) with the dog(s) who keeps warning Jack will one day be revealed. At least I hope so. But without spoiling the rest of the series for me can someone tell me if Anya, the Indian woman and the Russian woman are the same person/entity?

I just gotta know.

It has probably been discussed on here recently, but I can't remember the title and can't pull it up on google...

It came out this year, a team of women spelunkers trapped in a cave with strange bat-like creatures...?

Jagshemesh!

Is the new Borat movie getting much coverage in the US. It premiered last night inthe UK and goes on general release next week.

Personally I can't wait to see it, no political correctness at all.

2 particular quotes I loved last night:

“I did bring my eleven year old son Bilak here with his wife who is a similar age and they have recently given born to a baby which we are hope to sell to singing transvestite Madonna.”

"I would very much like to meet Queen – not for sexy time, but merely for respect. Very nice!”

What is the general opinion over in US about the forth coming movie?

I'm pretty intrigued by this offer; channel surfing last night landed me on an infomercial concerning this old TV show. I must admit I'm a little surprised I never watched and don't remember anything about it because they had some awesome performers on it. I think enough people might be interested in it so I'm posting a link...http://www.midnightspecial.com/

A week ago we shot a short film for a 13-Day Horror Film contest. It has been submitted to the UK company running the contest and I have now posted the film our website.

The Quiet Darkness is a supernatural thriller about the remaining 10 minutes of a young woman's life. If any one is interested in watching it visit the site here. Quicktime 7 is required as well as patience... the file is 46MB.

It is best viewed with the lights off and the volume up.

If you don't have Quicktime 7 you can view the film at our MySpace site.

Hope you enjoy it!

In another thread I was asked how I got into FPW, and I figured this would be a good chance to introduce myself. I've lurked here (and the old site) for a bit but only recently started to post.

Back when I was about 12, I really got into horror, reading the typical King, Saul, Straub, etc. Browsing the horror section of my local library, I found a book with a cool cover - The Keep. Read it and absolutely loved it. A while later I found a similar looking cover and title - The Tomb. Hey, same author. Fantastic book, and loved the RJ character. For the next number of years I kept a lookout for that cover type at the library and browsed for FPW, only to find The Touch.

I went to college and was out of the FPW scene. After those years I came across The Tery, which opened up a huge new genre that I didn't know FPW did. That led to The LaNague Chronicles, and the Soft collection. It was about then that I started working on finding all his works. I've been gathering them for over 10 years now.

I'm not nearly the expert that many on this site are; I don't seem to have the memory for the details, so I don't make the connections. I love reading and re-reading the books, though, as well as reading the postings on this site.

So, FPW, keep 'em coming! If you're ever in the state of Washington, let me know. Otherwise I'll have to find out how to get down to San Diego one of these days.

I was just updating my Netflix info, reviewing all the movies I can think of I've seen so I can get better recommendations and I ran across this review of Battlefield Earth:

I think Jon Stewart summed Battlefield Earth up best when he said that it's a cross between Star Wars and the smell of ass. I hope that the studio exec that greenlighted this one enjoys his new job as the photocopy guy.
