This is for you, Maggers:

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

(I suppose everyone else can look at it, too) Wink :p

Will it be a Catholic one? 'Cause that would be seriously cool.

List the movies you watched and liked before everyone jumped on the bandwagon.

My heart broke when I saw "Boondock Saints" merchandise in Hot Topic. Sad

Another great film I saw before everyone else started raving about how cool it was: Memento.

I just found this forum and I wanted to check in and say hello to everyone!

So far I've read the following Repairman Jack novels.

1. The Tomb
2. Legacies
3. Conspiracies - Cracked me up big time!
4. Infernal

I'm currently reading CrissCross and even though my reading is all out of order I still find the Repairman Jack series is excellent!

After I finish Crisscross I'll go back and read the books I missed in order.

BTW, I'm surprised that a Repairman Jack movie hasn't been made yet! Personally, I think Bruce Willis would be an excellent choice to play Repairman Jack.

Cheers!

Would it have been easier to start with Legacies? Ease potential RJ fans into the "supernatural" stuff. Then backtrack to The Tomb and then move forward.

My hubby and I went to see the new Bond movie yesterday and loved it. And we never agree on movies! What a terrific flick.

First, you should know I'm a huge James Bond fan. I've seen every movie and even read some of Ian Fleming's work. Sean Connery is my favorite Bond because you knew his masculinity wasn't an act.

Casino Royale is unlike any James Bond movie you've ever seen. And I mean that in every way, from the first frame to the last. The movie starts with James Bond just getting his double "0" status and he's raw and hungry. I saw the 1967 version of this movie (David Niven was James Bond-great actor, terrible casting) and it can't hold a candle to this one.

Daniel Craig's Bond is dangerous and 100% male with no apologies or time for political correctness. This guy can act!

Ladies, you'll love this film. You know how almost every Bond movie has at least one nude or partially nude Bond girl? Well, how about a nude Bond? Yeah, baby!

Even if this wasn't a Bond movie, I'd still love it. Terrific action, beautiful scenery, excellent plotting and top-notch acting. My only criticism is that it was about twenty minutes too long.

If I were to rate this movie from a scale of 1 to 10, it would be a 9.

So if you love Bond as much as I do, but thought the only "true" Bond was Sean Connery, you need to give Daniel Craig a try. This guy has got it!

Susan

PS: I highly recommend seeing this movie in a DLP Cinema Theater. Stunning!

Frankly I wasn't overly enthused by the winning selection of the recent 'Stump Jack The Repairman Contest'--the winner was someone named New York Joe. In the acknowledgment page of the novel HARBINGERS, someone identified as New York Joe was thanked for his weaponary assistance. The contest winner was announced well after the novel was released. Was this just another 'coincidence'? If it is, in fairness to those entering the contest, an explanation might be in order. Different New York Joe? If it is the same, the individual mentioned in the acknowledgment should have been disqualified. Sorry if this sounds like sour grapes. Just trying to level the playing field.

Here's my three cents.

1. The first story featuring an appearance by fpw was the weakest of the three. It showed why sometimes the story works best on paper.

2. The second story was more interesting because I saw the easter egg version first, and then I saw the revised version. Remarkable improvement cinematically, but the ending was unremarkable. I must reread this story to recall how it ended.

3. The last story was the strongest. Very professional. Sadly, it was too short. I was left wanting more from these very fine characters portrayed by some very fine actors. Nicely done. I must reread this story as well.

Overall, a must for any fpw fan. Keep an eye on Dave. He's got the cine in his blood. A natural. I still must compare the revised story by Marc and compare it to Dead in the Water. Judging by the Others piece alone, Marc is a director to watch as well. But you get more out of his piece in the dvd if you watch it with the easter egg version.

Now the dvd by Marc and Dave (DITW)--I'll place that right under my dvds to watch, right after the five hour version of Das Boot.

P.S. Oops, forgot. Paul's side glance at the diners was Oscar worthy.

If you are Ridley Scott fan, I'm sure everybody saw "Black Rain".

Yesterday I bought DVD: Black Rain 2-Disc Special Edition, and I saw it last night. What a great movie! 17 years ago I saw it in a theatre, but when I saw it last night again, I realized one great actor was in the movie. Michael Douglas? Andy Garcia? No. I mean, they are great actors too, but I'm talking about Yusaku Matsuda as Sato.Yusaku Matsuda was Japanese famous actor. He died by cancer. While they were filming this movie, he had cancer already. But he kept it secret. After that he's gone. I miss him now.

Also, I was surprised how Ridley Scott filmed in Osaka. Osaka looks different city, like he did it in Blade Runner.

This is in Top 5 in Ridley Scott's movies to me.

This question is about the Cemetary Dance Sims 5-book series. I know there were problems with getting them fully published, but they got through #1-4 and they looked great. My last inquiry to them about book #5 went unanswered, I'm guessing because it isn't a high priority for them.

Does anyone have information about if they still intend to publish #5? Are there others out there that have purchased/pre-ordered it?

Thanks,
MarcC
