If you are Ridley Scott fan, I'm sure everybody saw "Black Rain".

Yesterday I bought DVD: Black Rain 2-Disc Special Edition, and I saw it last night. What a great movie! 17 years ago I saw it in a theatre, but when I saw it last night again, I realized one great actor was in the movie. Michael Douglas? Andy Garcia? No. I mean, they are great actors too, but I'm talking about Yusaku Matsuda as Sato.Yusaku Matsuda was Japanese famous actor. He died by cancer. While they were filming this movie, he had cancer already. But he kept it secret. After that he's gone. I miss him now.

Also, I was surprised how Ridley Scott filmed in Osaka. Osaka looks different city, like he did it in Blade Runner.

This is in Top 5 in Ridley Scott's movies to me.

This question is about the Cemetary Dance Sims 5-book series. I know there were problems with getting them fully published, but they got through #1-4 and they looked great. My last inquiry to them about book #5 went unanswered, I'm guessing because it isn't a high priority for them.

Does anyone have information about if they still intend to publish #5? Are there others out there that have purchased/pre-ordered it?

Thanks,
MarcC

Okay... Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon, and Jack Nicholson. That was enough to get me to the movies this week, and check out this movie. If you like the mob movies then you will love this. Honestly, I would recommend this movie to everyone, it is very clever, and well thought through. If I were to compare it to anything I would say similiar to the bizaarness of FightClub, but this movie is a lot easier to follow.

I don't know what to make of "Babel." I guess I'd have to say I'm glad I saw it, or, perhaps it would be more accurate to say that I'm not sorry I saw it. But, why was this movie made?

It has provoked much discussion amongst my friends with whom I saw it. The theater had really comfortable seats, for which I was very thankful, as the movie made me feel very uncomfortable throughout.

There are three stories that unwind s-l-o-w-l-y, and the audience is at a loss at first to see how they are connected.

I won't say anything further about the film in case anyone does see it. But this sums up how I felt about it:

It was as if I were a pig roasting on a spit, slowly turning over red hot coals. No relief and not quite sure how I wound up in such a predicament.

No Anthiny Hopkins........? Yep, this movie is about Young Lector. I thought Jude Law plays young Lector, but....who is Gaspard Ulliel?

I started an online book club and my pick was The Tomb (I'll get people hooked if it's the last thing I do!Big Grin ). I've never been part of a book club before and we are still starting out. I was wondering if you all would help me with some possible discussion questions to bring to the table? The ones I have so far are:
What was your first impression of Jack, Gia, and Mr. Bahkti?
What do you think of Jack's fight violence with violence approach?

We have the book broken down in sections and are still on the first section, but any suggestions for any of the book would be greatly appreciated. This is the first book club I've been a part of. Thanks in advance!
