Remember in Gateways, Jack wants
to be able to fight should his plane be hijacked. To fool the security portal, he tapes a Plexiglas knife to his arm.
It might not be possible in the future:
"a machine the company makes in St. Petersburg, Florida -- one that creates explicit images of traveler's bodies to find weapons under their clothes."
http://hsdailywire.com/single.php?id=6774

If Jack must travel again, he'll have to chose very carefully his airports...
As an aside, I wonder how long it will take before the images find their way on internet?

I was very amused by the P Frank Winslow books and appearances - very clever.

Following the premise to the absurd end, I'd like to see Jack seek out other works by Winslow (outside the Jack Fixx books he is aware of) and maybe discover some earlier works similar to Black Wind and The Keep, which would also tie into his life and add to the creepy factor.

Any short stories tied to Monroe would also be relevant, given all the cross-links in FPW's works.

Anyone else find this possibility amusing? Or maybe I'm just up way too late tonight...

The trailer for Friday The 13th 2009 is out... OMFG

Its got a few flaws. He moves too fast, his outfit is that of the modern Jason, his neck isn't all messed up... oh, and Jason wasn't the killer in the first Friday the 13th. But still... It looks awesome.

Hello folks. Last year, on July 2007, I have contact Paul about to make a game about The Keep.

Note: I´m a software developer, but my area is medical/dental, but I like to make games.

I have started then a First Person style game about The Keep (by far, my favourite Paul´s book). It is a totally free game, not commercial and it was done in my spare time (i don´t have many Wink ) It take me a full year, working here and there to make and collect assets to build it.

It´s a Sokoban type game, in Fisrt Person Big Grin We have to move crates, move stones, etc, etc, to win each level of the game (like look around on the Village around the Keep to find stuff, etc, etc). Off course you have to shhot some Nazi zombies, too, but not too much.

It´s a "one man show". I´m making it as a hobby, and Paul allow me to start this thread to show the progress (now in final stages) and allow people download the game when I get it playable. In a few days, I will post some screenshots (in game) and a video of my game play. I think in a month or so, the download will be available.

The game don´t have a commercial quality, of course, but I´m sure is pretty decent to make we in "The Keep" mood. Smile

Sorry for my english, I´m from Brazil. Here our language is mix of Sumerian and Aramaic. Smile

Cheers

This is one of the reasons why I like Eastwood. Take a look at his new film's trailer.

Gran Torino

Eastwood plays Walt Kowalski. An iron-willed veteran living in a changing world, who is forced by his immigrant neighbors to confront his own long-held prejudices.

Clint Eastwood is a living legend. He is an actor. He is filmmaker. He is Jazz musician. Also he was a politician. Even if he's old, I'm glad to I can see his another Dirty Harry-like movie. I really can't wait this one.

I loved the decision that Jack was faced with when the Lady asked him to toss the sword away so that it does not fall into the wrong hands in BTS. In the past, the lady has asked Jack to not do many things (don't go in the house in Haunted Air, get rid of the Lillitongue in Infernal, etc...) and every time he has not listened and there have been some serious repercussions for Jack not heeding her words.

This in mind, by keeping this sword it can only spell disaster in the last few books leading up to Nightworld.

Who is the Lady and has she been around since the big R and Glaeken or even earlier? Could it be possible that she IS Srem? I don't really have any supporting arguments to this other than my gut feeling? Just wanted to get it out there and see if anyone else thinks this might be possible. Perhaps she was documenting everything that she has found on this planet that was Otherness or Ally created and ways to combat them? I'm not sure if there are any Ally inspired writings in the book, but I wouldn't doubt it. It seems to have everything, just like the Lady seems to know everything.

Also, is it possible that the sword was created not specifically for the Ally or the Otherness but truely intended for the Lady should the need arise? She feels it should not be in anyone's hands since she is not connected to Ally or Otherness?

Sorry if this is all over the place, but I'm really curious to know how the Lady fits into this story and why I thought the last few pages of the book with the sword decision will play an important part in completing the Jack saga.

Only thing depressing about finishing each book is that we have to wait another year to find out what happens. It's driving me crazy in the best way possible

now we all know on this board what kinds of amazing things happen in the Reapairman Jack novels. so i was thinking why don't we advertise things like this to others and show them all these kinds of awsomeness, have mr. wilson write up some very interesting things about out favorite books and we take that post it on sites like myspace, facebook, other forums that are out on the web. it's an idea but me as a reader i feel we owe this man whose given us jack someone he was gonna leave of on the tomb. <witch in my opion was the best one 2 follows and 4> so why not tip our hats raise our glasses to jack and mr. wilson and show him that we want to spread jack to everyone and anyone the mind is something every one has and spark an interest in the mind and what happens you get people reading. the more reading we get the more interested people will become. show them the jack we love and we all want to share.

now on anther note if i am aloud i want to take a poll on peoples favorite books. any Repairman novel young or adult will do.

mine is the tomb, legacies, and all the rage.

I know the dialogue would be a mess to write, but how about an Abe Spin-Off?

I would love to know more about Abe and his early goings on. I mean, no coincidences also means everybody in Jacks life is likely tied in somehow. How about a series with a young Abe.Idea
