I am shocked. It didn't seem possible.

Kevin Smith made the PERFECT comedy. Maybe it took the combination of the View Askew guys and the Judd Apatow crew but it was 100% perfect. It had cameos and locations for George Romero fans ( such as Tom Savini and the Monroeville Mall where the original Dawn of the Dead was filmed.)

It had more nudity than I've seen in real pornos, including full forntal of Jason Mewes. This was something I prayed I would never see.

Despite the raunchiness and Seth Rogen and Elizabeth Banks brilliant comedic styles, it had MAJOR heart. It was a love story, a date movie and everything else.

The one liners were nonstop.

I used a trick they taught us in college. Time the gaps between audience laughter. The most for 99% of the movie was 8 seconds! I have never seen a movie where the entire audience NEVER stopped laughing... until now.

Kevin Smith, you deserve an oscar. Seth Rogen and Elizabeth Banks deserve Oscars. Hell, you have Justin Long and the dude who plays Superman as a gay couple/ Gay porn stars. The casting was brilliant!

If you like comedies like superbad, knocked up, the Forty year old virgin, etc, SEE THIS MOVIE! It makes them look like nothing!

Did anyone notice that the first few chapters of By the Sword are exactly word for word the same as the first jack section of Nightworld? Any ideas or thoughts as to why FPW would do that? Ive almost all of his work and this is the first time that ive ever seen him (or anyother author) basically copy a section of one book and paste it in another. would love to hear any ideas or thoughts on what might be brewing.

repairman jack is my hero.

I stumbled across this book (The Book of Skaith Volume 2: The Hounds of Skaith) today. It's by Leigh Brackett and was apparently originally published back in the 1970s. But there's a new edition coming out November 12th that lists fpw as an author as well.

I can't find any other information about this, though - either here or on the web. So, is this an fpw introduction, or...?

Thank Cthulhu for the American Movie Channel and Turner Movie Classic. My kids and I have spent the last few days watching Universal and Hammer (and other) horror classics: HORROR OF DRACULA, HOUSE OF DRACULA, the BRIDE / SON / HOUSE / CURSE OF FRANKENSTEIN, and THE THING FROM ANOTHER WORLD! TMC is doing a mini Lovecraft festival, too (HAUNTED PALCE, DUNWICH HORROR, THE SHUTTERED ROOM, etc.)!:p

So who's watching it? Apart from some police procedural problems it's a good damn show IMO.

You've been speculating. Just thought I'd give you a peek.

Surreal, he thought as he watched the twin towers burn.

His rented boat rocked gently on the waters of New York harbor, a thousand feet off the Battery. The morning sun blazed in a flawless cerulean sky. But for the susurrus of the light breeze and the soft lapping of the waves against the hull, the world lay silent about him.

A beautiful, beautiful day . . .

. . . unless you were anywhere near those towers.

He tried to imagine the Pandemonium in the streets around them—the klaxons, the sirens, the shouts, the confusion, the terror. Not a hint of that here. The towers belched black smoke like a couple of chimneys, but all in silence.

He checked his watch: nearly ten o’clock. The plan was to allow an hour or so of chaos after the Arabs completed their mission. By then, though fear and terror would still be running high, the initial panic would have subsided. The situation would be considered horrific and tragic, but manageable. The second jet had hit at 9:03, so the hour mark was almost upon him. Time to initiate the second phase—the real reason for all this.

From a pocket of his windbreaker he pulled a pair of gray plastic boxes, each the size of a cigarette pack—one marked with an S for the south tower, the other with an N for the north. He put the N away for later. After all, the south tower was the important one, the reason for this enormous undertaking.

He extended an aerial from the S box, then slid up a little safety cover on its front panel, revealing a black button. He took a breath and pressed the button, then watched and waited.

The vast majority would blame the collapse on the crazy Arabs who hijacked the planes and the Islamic extremists who funded them—the obvious choice. A few would notice inconsistencies and point fingers elsewhere, blaming the government or Big Oil or some other powerful but faceless entity.

No one—absolutely no one—could guess the truth behind the who and the why of this day.

Demonsong. Aryans and Absinthe. Faces. The Long Way Home. Interlude at Duanes's. Where do these come from in the works of F.Paul Wilson? While Demonsong sounds familiar, the rest don't. I've read Freak Show, how different is Peabody - Ozymandius?

Just finished reading "By The Sword" and noticed the timeline aka the Secret History of the World and the end. So since our civilization as we know it ends in year zero, doesn't that mean we know that Jack looses the battle?

And on a note regarding the way to the that ending: On the webpage F. Paul Wilson reckons there will be about 15 Jack books, in "By The Sword" that number has increased to 16 or 17. While i enjoy the Jack books a lot i really hope this isn't going to turn into an endless series of books with no ending in sight.

SPOILERS FOR BY THE SWORD, SECRET HISTORIES AND EARLIER BOOKS! IF NOT UP TO DATE ON THE JACK SAGA DO NOT PROCEDE!!!
Jack has the sword in his possession ( more accurately his closet ). Rasalom has said that now that he knows of its existence he knows where to find it when he needs it.

I think Rasalom is going to pay Jack a visit right where he sleeps. Think about it. What else could shake up Jack like his worst enemy waking him up in the middle of the night just to fuck with him?

Also I suspect the sword will be used to kill the Lady. Anya died a physical death but apparently the Lady came back in other forms. Still, she is scared of Rasalom finding her. We know that she must die before Nightworld in order for Rasalom to set things off. If the physical death of Anya didn't kill her, then what will? I suspect it has to be a weapon of Otherworldly Orgin ( such as a sword made form flaming metal that fell out of the sky ).

If she died Glaeken, Glenn or whatever he wants to be called will have to be the one to tell Jack who she is.

Now one question I have is whether or not Rasalom felt Glaeken's presence in the multi-pronged massacre at the end of BTS. I suspect he will find out that Glaeken is mortal and weak ( though how weak I have to wonder after his disposal of Kenji and his buddy ).

It has been said that Rasalom hasn't acted sooner because he is scared of Glaeken. Well, not much time is left before Nightworld. Could Ground Zero be when he finds out?

I also expect a blow-out between Jack and Gia, either over his intrusion into her studio or because he may finally tell her the truth about the accident. He can't wait much longer, since the longer he waits the worse its gonna be.

I also expect the return of that mysterious black artifact that disappeared in secret histories.

Thoughts anybody? What do you expect to see?
