I really enjoyed the last two repairman jack books twice after listening to the audiobook after I read the hard cover copy.

Any chance of us seeing the past books (which I have them all and already read) in audiobook cd or Mp3 format as well? I would like to enjoy them all over again this way. Smile

I have watched the USA TV Show "Burn Notice" and was very interested on how the main character Michael, has the personality and the same traits as the Jack character in Wilson's Novels. I think this is some what a rip off of a great character in a very fast paced novel series. I still like The Jack Series over the TV show but you be the judge and check it out On USA. The new season starts mid January.

I picked up a copy of Blood Lite, an anthology of humorous horror edited by Kevin J. Anderson, over the weekend and I just finished "The Sound Of Blunder" written by FPW and J.A. Konrath. It is quite funny as well as being an impressive anatomy lesson. One question though, just how much libation was used in the creation of this story-I think you may have exceeded the recommended limit?

being a total loser and total nerd, i've started making a mix of songs that, for some reason or another, remind me RJ. ill try and put it up on a torrent site for download, and if i work up the patience to post it on here, i shall. soooo i guess stay tuned?

I've deleted this post because bits and pieces - mostly out of context - are popping up all over the net, with headers to the effect that I say the film "stole" my Joker. You here know me better than that.

This was meant as a conversation between us, in our house, not all over the web. So I've taken it down.

But you can still download the story:

I just thought I'd share this with the community, maybe some more folks will find it interesting.

There is a bio for F. Paul Wilson at IMDB.com. If you follow some links in that bio, you can find information about film and TV works he's been a part of.

From the respective pages about each episode or film, you can click through on the IMDb site, to locate the item via Amazon.com. If the item is currently available with Amazon's "Video on Demand" service, you can either watch the item online or download it for watching with (e.g.) Windows Media Player, or any portable device supporting the WMV format (which, I think, iPods might, if you load the thing up in iTunes first, then tell iTunes to convert it to be capable with an iPod -- using the right-click context menu, with the video loade up in itunes -- this is a guess, though).

Just some tips, on that end:

1) To get the full functionality of this, you have to download and install the Amazon Unbox player. It's quick and simple. You can get to the download page for it, by following the appropriate links starting at one of the video-on-demand in-web-browser players.

2) When you install the Unbox player, be sure to tell it that you have a portable media device, so that it will ... so that it'll do whatever that does, presumably then making it possible to download the video files.

3) Once you've purchased an episode or film with Video on Depand, it should give you an option to either watch it online or download it. The episode I downloaded, it only allowed you to do one or the other and not to change your decision later -- I presume this is probably not an unusual configation.

4) Once you would've selected the "download" link, then after you start the unbox player, the thing you just purchased should be listd in your unbox library, and should be marked as "ready to download".

5) The downloading can take a bit of time, but once it's done, you've got the video right there, right, with no possibility of drop-outs or lag as would be due to network congestion.

6) do make sure that you've got enough space on the destination disk for you unbox player download directory, before downloading. I'd recommend at least two gigs, availalbe, though I haven't seen what this service has to offer. )Two gigs does it, with space left over, for ipod-capable backup of a DVD.)

You'll have to select the download directory, in the initial Unbox player configuration, and it can be reconfigured later after right-clicking on the unbox icon in the windows system-tray, then selecting the appropriate menu options.

It's too easy.

I mean, seriously, once you're comfortable with it, it's a really easy way to get in touch with some video made after great writing ... and after the results that occur after it all goes through the TV or film production process, granted, in any single occurrence..... I guess it's all a part of the program, so to speak.

With the new season of LOST starting in just a few weeks I went back and re-watched season 4. Last night I was discussing it with a friend and we came up with a theory. While not new in all the discussions of LOST on the web it was new to us.

Is it possible that the LOST island is Atlantis?

I was going to explain why this makes sense, but then I stumbled on a well written explanation that does it better than I could. Taken from LOST-Theories.com:

I know there were some theories about the Lost island being the Atlantis (e.g “The Ultimate Theory: The Philosophers Mind” by Edgar_Hallowax), i’m pretty sure that the island is Atlantis, only after the words of Locke about “moving the island” at the end of S04x11.

My arguments are: (some may be reiterated)

All the historical sources about the Atlantis (which is described as an island or a group of islands) refers to an abrupt disappearance of the whole continent. Many writings, including Plato’s “Dialogues” tells us that in a single day and night, with violent earthquakes and floods the island of Atlantis disappeared in the depths of the sea. Now we all know the island can move in time and space. In the Season 4 finale we will probably see how Locke and Ben will “move the island”. Look out for an earthquake and maybe flood like event during the season finale.

The location of the Lost island also fits the most probable location of Atlantis; in the Pacific Ocean, south of Indonesia. (Atlantis Checklist)

The capitol of Atlantis was described as a city surrounded by three concentric moats with carved tunnels into the rings and an outer Wall… (The UnMuseum - The Lost Continent of Atlantis). Now, look at the Dharma logo!.. (
Dharma Logos - Lospedia). The main logo and all the other station logos only have the 3 concentric interrupted rings and an outer solid line in common (which may resemble the inner moats interrupted with tunnels and bridges and the outer wall). The similarity to the presumed configuration of the lost city of Atlantis is remarkable.

Another central, unique feature of Atlantis were its seas, rendered “innavigable” by cataclysm as reported by Plato and other ancient authorities. These writings are interpreted as the seas were innavigable because they were covered thick with giant banks of floating, fiery pumice-stone from volcanic eruptions. Seas around our Lost island is also innavigable, but due to magnetic anomalies.

We all know that there is a four-toe ancient statue on the island. It is said that Apollon and Athena, the Greek Gods, are usually depicted with four toes on each foot. So this statue with his sandal is a definite proof for the existence of an ancient civilization on the island.

Some people on the island call themselves as “natives”, they are led by Richard Apert who dont seem to age. Remember “Fountain of Youth”, one of the most famous stories about the legend of Atlantis.

We also know that there is a “temple” on the island which we didn’t see yet. How about a Temple of Poseidon, another Atlantean landmark?… Remember the hyrogliphes in the hatch as well. For many historians Atlantean civilization was the ancestor of ancient Egypt.

If the island sink and rise for various reasons (volcanic activity or deliberate “movement”Wink this explains why Black Rock is in the middle of the island.

According to some investigators Atlantis was a place of advanced civilization. On the island we witnessed many advanced technology stations supposed to be operated by Dharma Initiative. We are informed that the roots of Dharma goes to Alvar Hanso but we do not clearly know if the stations are build by Dharma or they are just taken over the stations or some technologies from the “natives”. Moreover we still do not know what “Black Smoke” is, how they “time travel” or move the island etc. All of these “technologies” can be the heritage of an ancient civilization whose descendants still living on the island. Alvar Hanso may be a man who once discovered the island by accident and revealed the features it has and began to exploit it in some way or other. Native people of the island may have tried to expel them and succeed with the help of Benjamin Linus, but they have returned now. In this point both Benjamin Linus and John Locke seems to be special people for the native folk (hence Atlanteans), their birth, their arrival in the island and their relationship with the natives (and Jacob) are another story but I think the advanced technology of the Atlanteans has something to do with Ben and John’s births (John was a “special project”Wink

So there you have it. Some very interesting reasons why the island could in fact be Atlantis.

It is 2009 and, although things look more promising than they have in quite some time (if ever), we are still without an "it's on" Repairman Jack movie announcement.

With the SAG strike looming, despite the recent positive developments, when do you think that the announcement will come that the Repairman Jack movie has been finalized and it is moving toward pre-production?
