Just heard that Mr. Montalban passed away at age 88. Quite a career, and of course, his role as Kahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhn! hit home for a lot of sci-fi geeks like me.

Loved his appearance in the "Spy Kids" sequel. Seemed like he was well liked by a lot of producers.

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Patrick McGoohan, an Emmy-winning actor who created and starred in the cult classic television show "The Prisoner," has died. He was 80.

McGoohan died Tuesday in Los Angeles after a short illness, his son-in-law, film producer Cleve Landsberg, said Wednesday.
McGoohan won two Emmys for his work on the Peter Falk detective drama "Columbo," and more recently appeared as King Edward Longshanks in the 1995 Mel Gibson film "Braveheart."
But he was best known as the title character Number Six in "The Prisoner," a surreal 1960s British series in which a former spy is held captive in a small village and constantly tries to escape.

With the possibility of a prequel to The Keep, it would be cool to see an expanded, signed, and limited hardcover release of Demonsong.

The signed/limited chapbooks always seem to sell well on Ebay (I keep getting outbid). The Little Beige Books always sell well too (lucky I bought mine from BP). I'm sure an expanded version, if published similar to TPOTC&OE or The Last Rakosh, signed and limited, would sell like hairspray on prom night.

Dr. Wilson:

I'm a fan. I'm a huge fan. I discovered you back in 1979 when I read The Keep on a Greyhound Bus on my way to a college interview, and I never let go. I've read two of your medical thrillers (meh), the entire LaNague cycle and, most importantly, both the Adversary Cycle and the Repairman Jack series.

And, after reading Black Wind and By the Sword back to back over the last week..... WTF are you doing?????????

You already wrote what is probably the best horror/adventure/sci-fi combo series there has ever been. The Adversary Cycle is a true work of art, spanning 50+ years and at least four different literary genres to tell an amazing story... a story that is neatly wrapped up and actually contained within the six books.

As much as I love Jack, you've lost all focus.

And I DO love Jack. The Tomb rests solidly amongst my Top Ten books of all time, and I do my best to sing your praises and win converts on other book/Kindle forums.

But... WTF????

By my last count, you now have at least seven different players involved in the Nightworld-Endgame. There's this unborn baby--that means everything... even though we know it doesn't. (Cuz we've all read Nightworld and we know it comes down to a showdown between Glaeken and another Rasalom-rebirth/empowerment.) Septimus. Kickers. Kaze. Dormentalists. Kakureta Kao. The Katana that means nothing because we already know the source-metal for the Sword... The Lady... you have, over the last few years, made them all important in the final scenario... when you already had a perfectly crafted final scenario!

I admire you greatly as an author. But do you truly believe that you can somehow wrap all this together and write a better version of Nightworld when the time comes with all these disparate, random (though fascinating) threads out there?

I just don't get it. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

hey everyone, just making an opening hello to everyone. I was put on to FPW's books by the owner of a local bookstore thats been around since i was real young. I went in one day a few months back and he reccommended me "The Tomb" (by FPW. duh), and "Swan Song" by Robert McCammon. I read Swan Song first and although very good it didnt hook me like The Tomb did. I have since read (in order unfornutunately) The Tomb, The Keep, All The Rage, Hosts, Harbingers, The Infernal, and just finished The Touch. He also sold me "Reprisal" and an old copy of "Night World" (which since buying I have learned that i probably won't read untilthe revised one is released and it is time for it) directlyout of his personal collection since he saw how much i was getting into them. Right now I am trying to figure out which book to start on next since I have kinda skipped around based on availability of the books. I have kind of had a problem finding copies of "Reborn" and the smaller short stories that tie into the RJ/AC timelines. Any advice on the next choice would be apprciated.

Sorry if a post about this exists somewhere already but let me get to my point. I was just wondering if BY THE SWORD continues with the stroy from Bloodline, meaning if the kicker movent and Thompson are still involved, not to mention Dawn and her baby of dubious comeing abouts..lol... Without letting me in on any spoilers if anyone could answer my questions that would be great and much appreciated..peace out everyone...

Steven Soderbergh and Benicio Del Toro made a great movies again since "Traffic"!

Today was the opening day at Japan, and after I saw "Hellboy II", I saw "CheTongueart One", too. Del Toro perfectly played Che Guevara. I'm sure he'll get Academy Award Best Actor. His acting was the best motion I've never seen.

Part Two's release is from Jan 31. It looks better than Part One. Can't wait.

Stumbled across this today

If you are a fan of spoofs or conspiracy theory it may be of interest

In 1977 a UK documentary series Science Report was being decomissioned

So as a final episode they decided to do a spoof story using the same reporter as the genuine editions

It was due to be broadcast on April fools day - but got delayed

Anglia TV later revealed the program was a hoax (or was it!)
