I remember someone here saying that this book was reprinted, in a short form, from "The Tomb". Is it truely just a reprint, or has it been "Fleshed out", with more chapters that were not in the original novel? I have put off buying a copy of this book for that very reason. Please let me know.
Thanks, Lexx

Just heard Robert Quarrey has died. He was a real gentleman and a down to earth guy. He will be missed.

I watched this last night and was completely caught up in the performances. Here's more proof that the acting awards are influenced by the who's who of Hollywood more than acting recognition. The characters and scenes were well-thought-out and executed. You would see plenty of scenes with emotional outbursts, full of loss, love, longing, anger, righteous indignation, and more. If you like police dramas, this one should make you happy.

Hello, I'm a newbie here. However, I'm not new to the Repairman Jack novels. I've read all but two of them. They being "By the Sword" and "Jack's Secret History." I should add that I didn't read them in order but enjoyed them just the same. Am I allowed to substitute a cartoon picture instead of my own?

I'm going to feel my way around before setting up a profile.

Thanks for letting me join the discussions. Smile

No, this is NOT about the new "JACK" book that is already out. This is about Jack's background, what his parents and grandparents were, where they originally came from. I surmise that Jack is of "Scots/Irish" descent, with a little German in there also, possibly.
Now, is there any specific clues in any of the books that would indicate exactly what Jack's background would be? I was just in the middle of reading the new book "Jack" and it came to mind, so I had to lay the book down, and post this here. With my memory, if I didn't post this at once, I would forget it for WEEKS! :p

Big Budget Films Make for Small Television Scares

In the late 80’s Jason Vorhees and Freddy Krueger were at the top of their box office game, bringing their respective studios a modicum of success in a relatively dry market. These characters were the go-to guys and sequel after sequel was being churned out.

It should not have come as a surprise that studio execs would eye the small screen as the next venture for the franchises in hopes to bleed dry any life remaining from the titles.

With the success of a Twilight zone reboot, Monsters, Tales from the Darkside and The Hitchhiker, late night syndicated programming proved to be fertile ground for Hollywood monsters.

The year was 1987 and producer Frank Mancuso, Jr. was working on brining a late night program entitled The 13th Hour to the small screen. The series would focus on two cousins who inherit from their Uncle Lewis an antique shop that sold cursed items.

--From the Prologue of the Series—
“Lewis Vendredi made a deal with the devil to sell cursed antiques. But he broke the pact and it cost him his soul. Now, his Niece Micki and her cousin Ryan have inherited the store…and with it the curse. Now they must get everything back and the real terror begins.”

The series could easily have stood on its own with this premise, but Mancuso, in an effort to draw viewers, adopted the moniker of the film franchise currently under his production belt: Friday the 13th.

Anybody watching this? My wife and I were looking forward to this show and so far it has not disappointed. Especially last night.

Since her friend's mural was defaced I have suspected that Tara
has yet another personality
. And man was I not ready for how right I was. Now she has
a red, trench coat-wearing ID
that is highly
passive aggressive
. When her husband
walked in on her urinating on her sleeping father
it was the funniest thing I have seen in a long, long time. I don't know how he could have done anything other than run away. After that scene I also realized
this ID has been doing the same thing to her son.
I can't wait until next Sunday.

We have threads about books and music recommendations.....and yes we start threads about new movies out.
What we need is a thread about what to rent for a good laugh, a good cry or to scare ourselves silly. Sooooooooo............ta da!....a new thread.

If you haven't added this one to your queue....do so for a good laugh. We were laughing all the way through this movie

Zach and Miri Make a Porno.
While Seth Rogen isn't much to look at....his comic delivery is great! Jason Mewes is hysterical. And for the guys.....Elizabeth Banks, Katie Morgan and Traci Lords......who knew?

The out takes were funny as well. Plenty of laughs......some oh mys!....and one aw....that's just wrong.

I had mentioned in the past I write for the online FILMS IN REVIEW from time to time and was going to do a piece on these 2 Hammer scifi films and thought I'd pick up a copy. Well, seems like it was yanked after about a week because Warner Brothers released, without knowing, the full uncut version of WHEN DINOSAURS RULED THE EARTH that contained all of Victoria Vetri's nude scenes. Well, after a LOT of angry calls from parents, they yanked the disc and at this writing no plans are in the works to rissue it with a simple sticker saying 'Mature Content'. Any rate-if you see it grab it!! Going for almost 100.00 on Amazon last time I looked!!!!!!!! Thank goodness my editor loaned me his and I copied it!!!!!
