As someone who grew up on Roller Derby, I could appreciate Whip It more than most may. Drew Barrymore has made a great directorial debut. And I've found my companion piece for a double-feature with Ghost World. It's a coming of age flick, but it captures the spirit and details of Roller Derby so well that you get two flicks for one. I will be adding this movie to my dvd library.

up for auction on EBAY. I donated it to the NECon support fund. Such a deal.

So, all the time that David Letterman was criticizing Palin's motherhood, he was cheating on his wife. And his public apologies seem like publicity stunts geared to increase ratings against Conan and seem to underline an insincerity as he mixes humor with his words of regret. I'm not a Palin fan, but her motherhood had nothing to do with the vice-presidential run. I am a David Letterman fan, but his insincerity on the air is trying my loyalty. Is it time for Conan?

P.S. Could you imagine this happening to Jack Paar or Steve Allen?

Sorry, I know it's short notice, but I only found out minutes ago myself. Anyway, if there are any UK-dwellers out there who are interested in watching The Keep, it's on tonight (Sunday) on the Scifi/Horror movie channel (Sky 307) at 10.45.
Enjoy! (Or perhaps not...)

Not a Shaun of the Dead, but funny in it's own right. We laughed at the jokes and the dispatching of the zombies.
Four very unlikely humans left after a
plague of mad cow disease
banded together on an epic road trip. Each searching for that "something" they need and of course for the zombie free zone.
One of the best zombies in a cameo had us rolling and Columbus' rules have a purpose and were practical to say the least.
Worthy of your admission price, I'll buy it when it's available for purchase.

"Time to nut up, or shut up" Yeah, worthy. Big Grin

Has the idea of a Graphic Novel (a.k.a. Comic Book) been posed to "The Man"? I think it would make for a GREAT series!!

I feel like I'm living in a Twilight Zone episode lately, but nevertheless, today is, in fact, the 50th anniversary of the first Twilight Zone episode ever broadcast.

50 years later and it still just doesn't get better than that.

I am curious, I have the Tor addition of Ground Zero and I noticed that the cover has a picture of what I think is Gleaken instead of the normal Jack picture. am I crazy? why would they put Glaeken instead of Jack? I think its Glaeken because I just can't imagine Jack wearing a trench coat and suit and tie, just not his style. anyone have any ideas?
