I watched Look this past weekend and it's a pretty good little thriller. It is unique in that the story is told completely through surveillance cameras. I knew that there are plenty of cameras throughout the country but the sheer amount is staggering and according to the commentary, they used only cameras that are actually found in the places that they used. Definitely worth a look.
I was tooling around on the internet and I read a bit about James Patterson. Apparently he has a 3 inch thick folder full of ideas and he collaborates with other writers because he can't write them all. Do you have a folder of stuff you just don't see yourself getting around to? And if so, do you have any plans to do anything with it?
I've read a bit on how other writers do it, I was curious as to how FPW does it. Does one person write a bit, give the pages to the other and the other reads them and continues writing? Does one person write something and the other reads it, edits out some things and edits in others? Does one person write an outline and the other flesh it out? Do you always do the same process or is it different when you work with different people?
Just saw this today. There's a touch of The Thing in there, a dab of The Mist, maybe a little zombie. My only complaint, and this is a minor spoiler, is the swamp. THERE IS NO SWAMP IN IOWA! A couple decent scares, and the main characters are paranoid of one another almost to the end.
just received this link from Matt Costello to a trailer for the interactive movie we scripted back in the 90s. Sadly, "Bombmeister" was never released. But it would have been an awesome interactive film.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gj4c0uJWAjI
Didn't care for the film. It was ok I guess for low budget. Needed better dialogue and direction. Acting wasn't too bad, though. Do not know how well it followed the comics as i've never read them.
But for those of you who remember Andrew Pleavin - aka "Dalt" - he plays Frank, the General's aide. I thought he did a really good job, and I'm not being bias. So if for no other reason, rent it just to see Dalt in action.
So I watched Grace yesterday and it is one creepy flick. I don't recommend for people hoping to concieve a child or anyone who just has as it deals with a woman who is involved in an aoutmobile accident killing her unborn baby three weeks before she is due yet she decides she would rather deliver it naturally anyway. The baby comes and miraculously lives but it is far from normal.
