Yes, I finally got around to ordering all the Jack books from Amazon UK, I think that 2 will be dispatched very soon and the 3rd when it is published, March 2011, I think.
Not sure if dad will pilfer them first or not lol.
I am reading a Dean Koontz at the mo. That is good, but need a book to really get my teeth into. Dean usually does it for me, but I think my frame of mind is off.

Didn't order Fatal Error yet, as it was listed as £444, seems a bit amazing that!!!

I know the first week sales are important for bestseller position. Do Kindle sales count in that or is it only printed books?

Thanks!

Tonight and tonight only is The Exorcist: Director's Cut, 2 and a half hours of movie, extra footage and an interview.

Love these one day events at the movies: operas, concerts, boxing, and so on. Very creative use of the cine.

Loved The Rolling Stones:1972 Tour last week. Good mix of young and old in the crowd. Expect the same for tonight's movie.

This looks like it has potential.
It is a 12A in UK, so might lack sex, violence, action and blood and guts. lol. But might be better than The Other Guys, which was also 12A in UK lol.

It is an 18, so should have lots of action, blood and violence.

I'm still reading Hosts and have a question about the Hive virus. It isn't part of the Otherness, is it? It seems too orderly and controlled to be of the chaotic Otherness. Is it something natural that already existed in the orderly universe and is just a tool that the Otherness is using to destabilize the minds of all the humans on earth? At least that is my theory.

Okay, you gotta remember: I was there for the a/c.

Anyway...I don't remember that much about the first movie, so I was going by the trailers for a refresher. Bad move. The movie is about Josh Brolin's bad guy to Shia Inthebuff's good guy. Michael Douglas's character seemed like an afterthought and was squeezed in sideways to make room in the script. What can I say? The a/c was nice. And the Brian Eno/David Bryne score was amazing. Yes, I'll be buying the soundtrack.

Never Let Me Go should be seen by everyone--now. I ended up in the cinema today because of the record-setting heat. So, when I chose this movie to watch, it was strictly for the a/c. I wish I could summarize this movie for you, but I can't. Remember A Beautiful Mind? Give away the "secret" and you've spoiled the basis of the plot. Same thing with NLMG's "secret." And don't read any reviews of this movie either. Just go watch it before the buzz starts.

P.S. We'll talk about it later.

I just bought a Kindle and am waiting for it to come in over the next few days. Part of the reason for this is FPW has a number of the older books that I can't find in print. These books are pretty cheap, $1-3 each. However the Jack novels are all the same price either print or Kindle edition. So does FPW make more off the Kindle editions or the same? At the same price he should be making more from a Kindle since there's no paper to print. But I suspect that someone else keeps the extra money.
