I'm looking for volunteers to proofread the .pdf of the QUICK FIXES trade paperback. I'll send the file to the first 3 to PM me with an email address. I'm looking for a quick turnaround, so if you can't get to it right away, please don't volunteer.

Tis the season for live music and I got my summer kicked off in fine fashion last night with The March Fourth Marching Band. The are a collective of roughly 20 musicians, 4 stilt walkers/dancers, hula hoopers, and a few burlesque-type dancers who pump as much energy into the crowd as any band I've ever seen. I highly recommend seeing them if you find the following video at all entertaining because while it shows what they do it in no way captures the vibe of being there.

[YT]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1m9xN4Z7gUc[/YT]

The video comes from their official site and hat is worth poking around in as well; they are quite an interesting troupe. That is no longer true so here is their official website: http://marchfourthmarchingband.com/

I saw them at a new-to-me venue that was pretty awesome as well; the Mishawanka Ampitheatre is nestled right next to The Poudre River in The Poudre Canyon. The picture doesn't really do it justice but you get the idea. http://www.enditpresents.com/venues.htm

I will be returning on July 9th to see Bob Schneider.

Who is on your list?

my sister n law (brothers wife) is one of those struggling to get published writers ... Her first book is available in ebook for free ...

So for anyone interested ..
http://www.smashwords.com/books/view/66778

She writes urban fantasy's - more like Kim Harrison - her main character is a witch and her vampires are not shiny but probably not as dark as those in Midnight Mass ...

I read the first version and a couple of the following novels and liked them. She did tell me she was re-writing and changing the plot so I have not read this version yet ...

Let me know what ya think Smile

I have the banner ads on mine and don't find them a problem or in the way at all. In fact I check them all the time to see if there are any good ones. One just popped up on there today. A $20 Amazon gift card for only $10! I was on that one immediately! You just pick that one on your Kindle and they email you the promo code and the link to buy it. I just wish I could get more than one. Good luck!

I made a beer this year that I affectionately named Rakosh India Pale Ale. I entered it in the competition at the local fair and won!! Best in class and best in show! This was my first time entering any of my beer in a competition, so I'm pretty excited.

I am a big fan of Jeff Buckley and I just heard today they are making a biopic about his too short life.

This is surprising to me as he was popular but I never thought he attained the level of fame that would be expected for him to have a movie made about his life. Not that I am complaining, I will save that in case the movie sucks. Just surprised.

So in discussing zombie movies on another thread I was thinking, what is everyones favorite horror movie? I think most people on this board like horror as a genre (I actually became a fan of FPW for his horror and stuck around for everything else).

It doesn't have to be recent or specific since horror has so many sub-genres.

Like, favorite monster movie?

Favorite zombie or TEOTWAWKI movie?

Favorite classic horror movie?

I will hold off on mentioning some of mine until others have contributed so I don't taint the pool. Big Grin

In my interview with F. Paul Wilson that I posted last month on my blog, I mentioned a letter from Stephen King that talks about THE TOUCH being an example of the "literary value of horror". I have posted an image of that letter for those of you that want to see "the hard evidence".
