I received my copy of THE TERY that I had ordered online. I was looking in the back and I saw the following: "The further adventures of Steven Dalt (and Pard) will continue in HEALER coming soon from BAEN BOOKS ." If I remember correctly (and I'm too tired to go looking through my stack of books to read), HEALER was part of THE LANAGUE CHRONICLES, the three-novels-in-one collection. Does this mean THE TERY is part of the LaNague series and thus should be read before THE LANAGUE CHRONICLES?

Thank you.

I thought I should relocate my post to where it might draw more attention because this movie deserves an audience. My admiration for the film grew as I watched the commentary tracks. There is an informative one that got me thinking about all the levels the film operates on (which I missed due to my laughter), but the real treasure is the laugh-a-minute commentary supplied by the 'King.'

In addition to the two commentary tracks, there are a few other worthwhile extras to chew on.

Bruce Campbell's acting is a revelation; I've always liked him despite his campiness which he manages to avoid here. It is by far the best performance of his career.

I don't own many movies, but this is definitely going in my collection.

Let me be the first to jump on that Bubba Ho-Tep bandwagon; it is hilarious . Bruce gives one of the best Elvis impersonations ever and the always brilliant Ossie Davis is great as JFK. I'm sensing the birth of a new cult classic.

And why, oh why can't FPW find a director who desires to stay as true to the source material as Don Coscarelli did in this instance? There is little difference between the short story and film; Lansdale's writing is evident in every scene.

Whoever recommended Autofocus to the group/gang/board should be hogtied (unless, they like it, in which case they should be horsewhipped). Poor Bob Crane was dragged through the mud. The movie went nowhere. And more questions were raised than answered. Whoever made this movie--I'm warning you, stay away from the George Reeves Story--unless you use Gene LeBell's version of his death.

All right, didn't that finale to Smallville smack of the the Godfather ending (I mean "stylistcally," not "funnily")? And didn't that Angel finale smack of the Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid ending? And yes, I loved both finales. Looks like Clark might just be returning in some new duds. Now let's see if Star Trek can finale equally with the hype building up to it.

Does anyone seen Hammer House of Horror?(Japanese title was Akuma no Igyo)

A few days ago, I bought DVD. When I first saw this TV drama, it was about twenty yeras ago, and the program was televised on a TV-Tokyo(channel 12) in midnight. This drama is made by England, 13 episodes. Contents is occult, suspense, werewolf, witch, psycho, ghost, demon doll...

Performers were Pierce Brosnan, Peter Cussing, Brian Cox. etc...

For the first time in twenty years, I saw it again on DVD. This is classical drama, but I felt new stuff. Wink

I just watched Frankenstein (nod to Repairman Jack's James Whale marathon) which I hadn't seen in a long time and am not sure if I ever saw in its entirety. It surprised me that Dr. Frankenstein's assistant's name is actually Fritz, not Igor. Where did the name/idea of Igor come from?!?!

I hope I've scooped the board with this one. As reported by creature-corner.com yesterday:

"Knock it all you want, but goddamn do I love Michael Mann's The Keep...and I'm resting a bit easier these days knowing now that Paramount is on the case to give the flick some respect on DVD.

According to Davis DVD, who has happened upon a wealth of release date information, The Keep will street November 30th. Ask for more details and I'll tell you nothing 'cause there is no more to tell. Although, I suspect as we draw closer to its release we will find out whether the disc'll be bare bones or come with a little extra goodness (hmm, I think I'll go with door number one).

The Keep was a 1983 release loosely based on an F. Paul Wilson novel of the same name, and I mean loose. Mann heavily stylized it, of course, and in doing so probably dated it too with his funky high contrast visuals and synth score by Tangerine Dream. Gabriel Byrne, Jurgen Prochnow, Scott Glen, and Ian McKellan star in this film which follows two German troops in World War II who are sent to guard an old keep in a Romanian pass. Each of their leaders hold separate ideals about the war and these difference rise to the surface when something within the keep is released."

Let the ranting begin....

Cemetary Dance - the most frustrating of publishers. Why do we even encourage them by forking over our hard earned readies with the promise of upcoming books when we all know they'll mess around for ages and keep coming out with crappy excuses - I'm sick of them. I've had Slade's Death Door paid for for 18 months and I keep getting told it's coming, it's coming. Same with fpw's stuff - more delays. I was very p***ed off having to buy a hardback copy of Sims after spending a small fortune on the CD version only to get half a bloody book!!!! Now the same's going to happen with Midnight Mass - I got an email today saying Sims4 & MM will be out in the summer.
Borderlands and Grant don't treat their customers like this (in my case they haven't anyway).

Thanks for listening to my rant - I just got the email from CD so I'm a tad miffed!! I'm away for a Partagas robusto and a 15 year old port to calm my inflamed senses!!
Have a good weekend everyone Smile
cheers!!
