To celebrate the ages-old newbie question ("Why is The Tomb called The Tomb even though there is no tomb in it?"), I will share a few discoveries that I made upon my first re-read of The Tomb.

You see, I found not one, not two, but FOUR (even five, maybe) references to tombs in the book. Unfortunately I didn't mark where they were in the book as I was reading, and my quick scavenger hunt this morning revealed only three of them, but my point is made.

In the new, bargain-priced Tor paperback:
  • Pg. 204, paragraph 5: "...a temple that was now a pyre and a tomb for that nameless sect." (this is my "classic" one)
  • Pg. 254, paragraph 2: "The tombstonelike Secretariat Building was off limits to the public."
  • Pg. 418, paragraph 5: "Like a loyal Indian wife throwing herself on her husband's funeral pyre, it headed towards Kusum's sunken iron tomb."
Yes, I understand how little of a life this shows I have, but hopefully my discovery is interesting enough to overwhelm that.

I've ever heard rumor about this movie, but unfortunately I've never seen this....until today. Have you ever seen this?

Today, at last I got "This is Spinal Tap" DVD, and I saw it. Great! I liked it. Exciting rock performance, funny songs, anger to canceled shows, anger to Black album, A woman like Yoko Ono, etc...but the most funny thing is this is fake documentary!

I especially laughed at small Stonehenge set on stage. I couldn't stop laugh! Big Grin

American President's changed to Secret Service, CTU agent's changed to Secret Service, and Sledge Hammer's changed to President. That's The Sentinel. Big Grin

Today I saw "The Sentinel", and I enjoyed it. The movie's theme is assassination of President. Once Secret Service Peter Garrison saved President Regan. He's professional. But he has one problem. He's a lady-killer(Like Fatal Attraction).

David Breckinridge is also Secret Service. His marriage failed. David's thinking Peter Garrison had affair with wife. So David is having grudge against him for long.

Peter Garrison get information about assassination of President. But that information was big trouble. Very big trouble.

Michael Douglas vs. Kiefer Surtherland, their every scenes were exciting and thrilling moments. If you like "24" and "In The Line Of Fire", I think you like this movie too (well, who's dislike "In The Line Of Fire" anyway?). And David Rasche played U.S. President. But every time I watch him, he reminded me of this line, "Trust me, I know what I'm doing". I expected he draw 44 Magnum. Big Grin

This is good action entertainment movie.

Curious George is a definite must see family flick. I thought everything about was a winner. I had heard it was good, but it exceeded all my expectations.

Lucky Number Slevin is a pretty entertaining movie. It's part scam, part comedic noir that tries a little too hard in a couple of patches, but is overall worth the rent. The solid cast delivers good performances; it was fun to see a lighter side Lucy Liu. Plus I noticed that it is now Sir Ben Kingsley, he must have been knighted recently.

One thing is for certain, I do not see Josh Hartnett as Jack. He wasn't bad in LNS, but I he doesn't have what it takes to pull RJ off.

Not sure if I'll be seeing this but I thought I'd pass it along...

Well, my query is in the title, really.

Every day you here of another childrens/YA series being optioned for the big screen, I wondered if YARJ could be, or does the current option preclude it?

If it can be optioned, I can see it being made before the adult version (by that I mean grown-up, rather than Repairman Dick).

I was just wondering if anyone out there has ever seen/remembers an old british tv series called "the prisoner" with Patrick McGoohan. It was a fantastic show about one guy who resigned from the secret service (or something) and then was abducted and sent to an island in order to find out why he resigned. The series only lasted for, i think, 16 or 17 episodes, but was one of the most original ideas for a show that i'd ever seen. I was just watching some of the old episodes the other day, and wondered if anyone else had seen them.
