I absolutely hated Nicholas Cage when he first started acting. He grew on me as the years went by and has actually become a great actor in my opinion. In the movie next he plays a guy that can see two minutes into the future, and only if it affects him.
It's a great premise for a movie and they did a good job of showing how this could work. All in all, a good movie and worth the money at the theaters. It won't be crowded on account of "Shreck", "Spidey"and next weekends "Pirates". They're drawing the large crowds. So if your in the mood for a good action movie/love story, check this one out.

This movie isn't really neccesary on the big screen, it would be a great rental. But out here, it's a movie you get some elbow room and some great entertainment.

Yesterday, after I saw "The Reaping", I had a spare time, so I saw "Stranger than fiction", and I enjoyed it.

Will Ferrell played Harold Crick. He is IRS auditor. He counts his steps to the bus, the number of times he brushes each of his teeth. And he ties his tie in a single knot for saving his time.

One day he heard woman's voice inside his head. That voice narrated Harold's life. Every his moving, every his thinking. But that voice was from Kay Eiffel. She's writing the book, "Death and Taxes". Main character was Harold Crick.

Apparently, this is Will Ferrell's Truman Show. And this is not a typical Will Ferrell movie. At first I thought this is a comedy film, but I was wrong.
He showed a wonderful performance, perfectly comical tone and unsuspected dramatic acting. He reminded me of Chevy Chase.

The supporting cast are equally brilliant. Emma Thompson is perfect as the heavy-smoking melancholic author. Maggie Gyllenhaal is fine character as a girl in bakery. Dustin Hoffman is...well, Dustin Hoffman.

Ending was clearly predictable. Nevertheless, it has worth to see. Wink

Hey guys!

I crossed the Delaware Water Gap from NJ into Pennsylvania and
visited the Frank Frazetta Museum with a friend early this afternoon.
We unfortunately did not catch a glimpse of the great illustrator
himself, but were able to spend a decent amount of time talking
to Frank's Wife Ellie, who was very outgoing, friendly, and mucho
informative.

It's a very classy little museum on a lovely estate out in the Pennsylvania
countryside (almost hidden as there are no big signs advertising it and
you need to have detailed directions to find it in the first place, i.e.,
I think they only want serious fans of his work to visit, and are not looking
towards attracting the odd wayward Pocono tourist).

There is a fantastic collection of Frazetta's work on display...and oh
so many oil paintings that I've seen on the cover of many a famous
fantasy novel and/or anthology.

If you don't mind a $10.00 donation fee to enter, and you are within driving
distance, I highly recommend it as a great destination if you are looking
for a major creative and inspirational jolt...especially if you don't have
anything against amazing paintings of Lions, and Martians, and Babes, oh my!

I loved this dark, violent and unusual film. Helen Mirren and Cuba Gooding, Jr. star and they both are terrific. Helen Mirren seldom hits a wrong note in anything, and she doesn't here, either, even playing a professional assassin. In Shadowboxer, Mirren has a deep, life long relationship with Cuba Gooding, Jr., and because of his early life experiences, Gooding's character is akin to Dexter, though without Dexter's sense of humor.

People seem to either hate this movie or love it. Some have said it's over the top, unrealistic, silly or even stupid. I disagree wholeheartedly. As I was watching, I said this director must be gay, and I mean that as high praise. Few hetero directors use color as gay men will. Certainly, few hetero directors use as many drag queens scattered throughout the movie in tiny roles. I loved it all.

But please don't get me wrong. This is by no means a gay film. There is just a different sensibility and a different take on the world that comes from a different point of view.

I don't want to give away plot points. If you like the offbeat, if you can tolerate situational film violence, if you like a film filled with tension and a sense of awful foreboding, if you enjoy an unusual story, good acting, and quirky characters with exceptional relationships, do check out "Shadowboxer."

I saw this on Showtime On Demand. It's available on DVD, too.

If anyone is interested you can view preview for the new Rambo flick that was put together for Canne. Check it out here. It may take a little time to load since the site is getting a lot of traffic.

(This doesn't look to be a toned down film like the new Die Hard.)

Oh, I can't wait for it until September! You know what?

Takashi Miike's western's action movie, Sukiyaki Western Django

Today I saw trailer and all casts are Japanese actors except for Quentin Tarantino! Can you believe the Japanese made western's movie? No? Well, then, check this trailer! Very weird but cool! Big Grin

I'm still waiting for the next great western after watching Seraphim Falls last night. It was a good movie, but fell a little short of my high hopes. After an excellent first half hour it kind of meandered aimlessly to its conclusion. Both Liam Neeson and Pierce Brosnan were solid in the leads, Brosnan actually looked like a rugged mountain man. The scenery is spectacular from the mountains to the flatlands; everyone looked tiny in its vastness.

I certainly enjoyed it more than last year's disappointing The Proposition. All in all, I recommend it if you are a fan of westerns.

Didn't we talk a few months ago about creating an RJ Compendium?

I started ditzing around with this today and thought this could be a great group project if everyone with the right knowledge helps out (and maybe some of our artists can create some pcis for us for the bios area n such????)

This is meant to be FUN- wanna play?

http://youdontknowjack.iwarp.com if this comes together well, I'll put it on a regular server with a better domain name, but right now its just for us kiddies. the Rakosh page is done (unless bones wants to let me use his rendering) contributors are welcome for the rest for the other pages already started and any other relevant subjects.
